Over the holiday break, Jenna Bush Hager says she went out — and made out — for New Year’s. Jenna says going out was fun for her; her husband, Henry Hager; and their three children, Mila, 10, Poppy, 8, and Hal, 4, but the making-out part left her oldest daughter, Mila, in a state of disgust. “We got dressed up, I blow-dried my hair, and then if you notice in that photo, Mila is just absolutely repulsed by her parents,” Jenna told Hoda Kotb on the fourth hour of TODAY Jan. 2 through laughter. “So that’s how we started 2024.” The photo, which Jenna had posted to her Instagram stories, shows Jenna and Henry sharing a smooch while Mila frowns and gives some serious side-eye, as her younger sister, Poppy, looks away.”NY kiss, notice Mila,” Jenna captioned the hilarious photo. As another photo popped up on the show of Jenna and Henry standing outside and kissing underneath mistletoe, Jenna said, “Oh, I guess I did make out a lot over New Year’s.” Hoda asked what she was doing in the photo, and Jenna shared that mistletoe grows on trees in her native Texas. “Mistletoe is a weed,” Jenna told Hoda. “I put it all over the table and my mom was like, ‘You know it’s kind of poisonous?’ So I just was like, don’t eat it.” Jenna shared she got her mom, former first lady Laura Bush, a Dyson vacuum for Christmas, though Laura Bush and her husband, former President George W. Bush, had resisted vacuums for awhile. “They’ve always swept, and that’s the way we do things,” Jenna explained. “But every year my kids would spill so much and my dad would be on the ground sweeping it and I’m like, you know what —” “They need the Dyson,” Hoda finished. Hoda shared she got her mom and her two daughters, Haley, 6, and Hope, 4, matching necklaces for Christmas that said “I love you to the moon and back,” a phrase Hoda said she reads for her daughters every morning.

‘You’re the coolest dog!’ Hilarious moment friendly golden retriever charms BURGLAR into giving him a belly rub before the crook makes off with dog owner’s $1,300 bike | Daily Mail Online
San Diego police shared a video of a bizarre incident in which a burglar stopped for a minute to affectionately pat a golden retriever before stealing its owner’s $1,300 electric bike.
In the video the man can be seen entering a lit and open garage before attempting to stealthily wheel away the expensive bike – but before he could, he was stopped by the friendly dog.
The crook could be seen wheeling the bike back into the garage, putting it on its stand, and starting to rub the dog’s belly while telling it: ‘You’re the coolest dog ever!’
The wholesome moment did not deter the swindler, who swiftly returned to business and made off with the bike.
San Diego Police Department Lt. Brian Brecht described it as a ‘very unique situation.’
A burglar stopped for a minute to affectionately pet a golden retriever before stealing its owner’s $1,300 electric bike. He is pictured rubbing the dog’s belly
The golden retriever excitedly leaped onto the swindler as he was leaving with its owner’s electric bicycle
‘The guy enters the garage, grabs the bike and starts to walk out. He is about five feet outside the garage door, and a golden retriever comes outside, into the garage, and follows the guy out,’ he told NBC 7.
‘He immediately comes back in, parks the bike and starts playing with the dog.’
The incident happened at around 10.40pm on July 15 on Diamond Street in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego.
The burglar was wearing a blue and white hat, gray shirt, blue shorts, and orange athletic shoes. He was carrying a black and blue backpack at the time.
The criminal also alluded to the theft, telling the dog: ‘Where’s your dad? Your dad should not leave the garage door open.’
‘You got too much s**t, how do you have so much s**t in your house? Why do you have all this stuff? Dude, you might be the coolest dog ever.’
The burglar told the dog it was the ‘coolest dog ever’ and suggested its owner was clumsy to leave a garage filled with so many valuable goods open and unlocked
After pausing to watch for around ten seconds, the dog then ran after the crook and left the camera’s field of view
He then wheeled the bike off before hopping on the saddle. After pausing to watch for around ten seconds, the dog then ran after the burglar and left the camera’s field of view.
In a statement accompanying the footage, San Diego Police noted that the bike had several distinctive features.
‘This isn’t your average bike, it’s distinct, featuring ‘8-ball’ caps on the tire valves, an ‘8-ball’ logo on the frame, and a rear wheel frame marked with a checkered black and white pattern,’ it read.
‘We are still looking for the subject. That’s why we advertised this on social media, but hopefully, we can get some tips from the public,’ Brecht said.
Anyone with information is being asked to reach out to SDPD or Crime Stoppers.

Family pays tribute to ‘funny, caring, superstar’ little girl who died after being diagnosed with a brain tumour – Wales Online
The family of a little girl who died after being diagnosed with a serious brain tumour last year have described her as a “funny, caring, sassy superstar.” 12-year-old Tiarna Mitchell from Cardiff died on May 27 this year days before her 13th birthday.
Last year Tiarna’s family told WalesOnline how she had been taken to the doctor after complaining of headaches in early 2022. Her family initially thought her headaches might mean she needed a change in her prescription glasses but after spending weeks in University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff undergoing tests and scans, Tiarna was diagnosed with a brain tumour and was given around 18 months to live.
In a heartbreaking tribute this week Tiarna’s family said she died on May 27 after battling a diffuse midline glioma, the second most common type of primary high grade brain tumour in children, for 14 months. She had been receiving full-time care at Ty Hafan since October and earlier this year received a visit from staff from notorious ‘rude service’ restaurant chain Karen’s Diner thanks to charity Dreams & Wishes after Tiarna was too ill to travel to their restaurant in Newport.
Tiarna’s family said she had “fought every single day with a smile and a laugh” despite having to go through three operations and countless scans, radiotherapy and medication. They said she would be remembered as “the funny, caring, quirky, sassy, superstar little girl that she was.”
“Tiarna bravely went through three operations, countless scans, radiotherapy, mass amounts of daily medication, but did it all with a smile,” they said. “Tiarna stayed her sassy, caring self until the very end, refusing to let the horrible disease take away her amazing personality.”
“She taught us all the true meaning of bravery, and how to live life to the very fullest even with a short amount of time. We as a family are so very proud of how Tiarna gracefully fought every single day with a smile and a laugh. She will forever be our family’s inspiration.
“We will always remember Tiarna as the funny, caring, quirky, sassy, superstar little girl that she was. We pray Tiarna is now out of [her] pain, still with her amazing smile, and now with her angel wings.
“We would also like to raise awareness to this horrible, life-changing disease. If you have any symptoms, like headaches, please go and see your GP. If Tiarna’s story helps someone else, it will be one of the blessings that comes from this heartbreaking time.”
Tiarna’s funeral will take place on Thursday, July 27 at 12pm at St Albans Church in Splott before going to Wenallt Chapel at 2pm. Tiarna will be leaving her home on Caernarvon Way in Trowbridge at 11am by horse and carriage and a procession will follow her to the top of Trowbridge Road in Rumney before going on to the service. Her family will welcome people at Peterstone Lakes Golf Club after the chapel.
