Biden’s Energy Sec Laughs, Then Says U.S. At Mercy Of OPEC. Crenshaw Fires: ‘Our US Energy Secretary Is A Joke. And A Liar.’

December 31, 2021 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Appearing on an interview with Bloomberg while Americans are getting clobbered by higher gas prices, Biden administration Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm first laughed hysterically when asked what her plan was to increase oil production in America, then insisted that the oil market was controlled by OPEC. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), incensed at the supine attitude of the Biden administration, which had begged OPEC to increase oil production and was rebuffed, fired, “Our US Energy Secretary is a joke. And a liar.”

Granholm was prompted by an interviewer for Bloomberg, who asked, “In Sturgis, Michigan, (gas) is $2.89 a gallon. I guess that’s better than in California. What is the Granholm plan to increase oil production in America?”

Granholm burst into uncontrollable laughter, then responded patronizingly, “Would that I had the magic wand on this. As you know, of course, oil is a global market. It is controlled by a cartel. That cartel is called OPEC. And they made a decision yesterday that they were not going to increase beyond what they were already planning.”

Crenshaw tweeted, “Our US Energy Secretary is a joke. And a liar. … No, prices are not controlled by OPEC. They have influence, but then again SO DO WE. Our vast increase in production over the past decade drove prices down. All we have to do is get the government boot off the neck of US producers, and let them do their job.”

He added, “But instead, this incompetent administration has done the opposite. They’re (sic) cancelled land leases and cancelled pipelines. They’re threatening the energy sector with more regs and taxes, and you wonder why no one wants to invest in more production?”

On October 29, The Washington Post noted Biden’s desire to hit the oil and gas industry, noting, “The tax-and-spending bill the White House hopes to pass within a matter of days would provide unprecedented levels of funding to combat climate change. But it would force the oil and gas industry to share the cost by raising more than $100 billion from fossil fuel firms over the next decade.”

On the day he took office, President Joe Biden banned all new oil and gas leases on public land and waters for 60 days in an executive order; he also canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline project.

On June 1, Reuters noted, “U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration on Tuesday said it would suspend oil and gas leases that were handed out in an Alaska wildlife refuge during the final days of the Trump administration pending an environmental review.”

This week, Railroad Commission of Texas Chairman Wayne Christian fired off criticism of Biden for his policies, saying:

While Americans are paying $144 million more for gas per day than in the past, the Biden administration continues their efforts to tax and regulate the oil and gas industry out of existence. Texas is the number one oil and gas producer in the nation, and these continued anti-oil and gas policies will kill jobs, stifle economic growth, and make America more reliant of foreign nations to provide reliable energy.

It’s hypocritical to kill clean fossil fuel jobs here in America claiming it ensures a clean environment, and then beg our foreign adversaries to produce more using much less environment-friendly methods. The U.S. is a global leader in reducing emissions, not through regulation – but technological innovation. In fact, over the last fifty years, the six major pollutants regulated by the EPA have fallen by 77 percent while the U.S. economy grew 285 percent and its population by 60 percent. With a looming global energy supply crisis and inflation on the rise, we need more economic certainty not less; we need more oil and gas production, not more clean energy fantasies.

Foster Kitten Goes Crazy For Her Special Treat – The Dodo

Kitten Gets Way Too Excited During Her First Starbucks Run

“She kept trying to pull the cup back to her face” 😂

Meredith and her siblings were found outside in the rain, soaking wet and in desperate need of help. They were only around 3 weeks old and already incredibly sick, dealing with upper respiratory infections, eye infections and parasites, when they arrived in the care of Foster the Furbabies.

“Meredith was the runt of the litter, and we weren’t sure if her or her siblings were even going to make it,” Gianna Cirucci, co-founder of Foster the Furbabies, told The Dodo. “Thankfully, they all thrived while in our care, but it definitely did not come easy for Meredith.”

Even after her siblings had healed, Meredith struggled with eye issues for a while. After a few different infections and lots of vet visits, she was finally cleared for adoption, although the vet did say she may have some slight vision impairment going forward. Her rescuers were so thrilled to see her all healed, even though they knew they’d be sad to say goodbye.

“She was one of the very first cats we had saved since starting our rescue, and she’ll always be one of our favorites,” Cirucci said.

After everything Meredith had been through, her rescuers wanted to do something special for her before she went off to her forever home, and so they decided to take her to get a Starbucks Puppuccino. Meredith was always a little obsessed with food, so they thought she’d definitely appreciate the treat.

“She was always (and still is) extremely crazy when it comes to food,” Cirucci said. “She would try to eat anything and everything. If she smelled something I was eating, she would climb up my body and try to either eat the food out of my mouth or go face first on my plate. For being the runt of the litter, this girl had a HUGE appetite.”

After going through the drive-through and ordering her a Puppuccino, her rescuers presented Meredith with her treat — and she immediately went nuts for it.

“She automatically went head first into the cup, and we started recording her because it was a moment we never wanted to forget,” Cirucci said. “She had us laughing so hard, we were in tears and I was wheezing.”

Meredith was so excited for her treat and couldn’t get enough of it. The whipped cream was all over her, and even the barista in the drive-through window couldn’t stop laughing and taking pictures of the goofy, messy kitten.

“More of the pup cup got on her face than in her mouth and we cleaned her up directly after, but she definitely had a good time and enjoyed her treat,” Cirucci said “She kept trying to pull the cup back to her face and was so upset when we wouldn’t let her have any more.”

They decided to post the adorable video of Meredith and her treat online, and everyone went just as wild for it. Some people expressed concern about giving dairy to a cat, but Meredith’s rescuers did their research beforehand and found that it’s OK for kittens to have some once in a while. Since most of the whipped cream ended up on Meredith’s fur, anyway, there’s definitely nothing to worry about.

A few days after her special treat, Meredith went off to her forever home. She’s now all settled in and doing so well. She has cat siblings whom she absolutely adores, and is of course still obsessed with food. While her rescuers miss her, they’re so glad she found such a perfect home, and will always have the goofy video of her trying to eat a puppuccino to remember her by.

Don Knotts’ Daughter Said She Had To Leave His Deathbed To Laugh

December 17, 2021 by humorouz Leave a Comment

UPDATED 11/15/2021

Don Knotts, who is best known for playing the role of Deputy Barney Fife in The Andy Griffith Show, was lying in his deathbed, as his daughter, Karen had to immediately rush out in order to laugh. Karen has given a good explanation for the behavior that many may find odd or even disrespectful.

She said, “Here’s the thing about my dad. He had this funniness that was just completely, insanely natural. When he was dying, he was making us laugh in hysterics.”

In a new book, Karen writes about the entire situation candidly. “He wasn’t there trying to make anybody laugh – he was naturally funny! And at times, he would be funny when he didn’t mean to be. So that’s what happened.”

“We were sitting with him because we knew it was very close to the end of his illness. It was just such a somber mood. Then all of a sudden he just started doing something so funny that just gave us the giggles. And he would do that – just suddenly do or say something at a quiet moment to make you laugh. That came to him naturally.”

She wishes she had stayed to laugh it out with her father

She later regretted not having laughed in front of her father, but she only did so because she thought it would be rude. I just couldn’t hold it in. I had to run out of that room. I didn’t want him to think I was laughing at him because he could be sensitive. But I just thought, ‘Oh my God, I need to step out now.’”

Karen says she later told Director Howard Storm about all of it, and he said in response, “You should have stayed there and laughed! That’s what comedians live for.” But she was just having a tough time thinking about laughing in front of her dad as he was dying.

Netflix Taps Dave Chappelle For ‘Netflix Is A Joke’ Comedy Fest Show – Rolling Stone

December 17, 2021 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Netflix has announced that Dave Chappelle will be headlining a show at the Hollywood Bowl next year as part of the Netflix Is a Joke Festival, an 11-day comedy fest with over 130 artists performing at 25 venues across Los Angeles from April 28 through May 8.

The event marks the comedian’s latest partnership with the streaming service since September’s controversial stand-up special The Closer, which sparked walkouts and internal turmoil at Netflix over what many said were transphobic jokes — and earned the support of the likes of Joe Rogan.

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos responded to the special’s fallout by admitting to fumbling communication within a leaked staff memo where he wrote that Chappelle’s “content on screen doesn’t directly translate to real-world harm.” He says he should have led with “more humanity,” although he stands by the special as being essentially harmless.

On the same festival lineup that offers Chappelle a prime slot is the Greek Theatre-hosted STAND OUT: An LGBTQ+ Celebration with Bob the Drag Queen, Eddie Izzard, Fortune Feimster, Gina Yashere, Guy Branum, James Adomian, Joel Kim Booster, Judy Gold, Mae Martin, Margaret Cho, Marsha Warfield, Matteo Lane, Patti Harrison, River Butcher, Sam Jay, Sandra Bernhard, Scott Thompson, Solomon Georgio, Tig Notaro, Trixie Mattel, Wanda Sykes and more.

The schedule for the event is mostly finalized, with additional show details from select performers awaiting confirmation to be announced ahead of the festival. Some shows will be recorded and released on Netflix in full at a later date; Chappelle’s will not be recorded.

Back in October, Chappelle made a return to the stage with none other than Rogan for a sold-out arena show in New Orleans. During the set, the comedian cracked jokes about cancellation and “PC culture,” receiving a standing ovation from a crowd of 17,000 fans. Between the individual scale of his own shows and his work with Netflix, the funniest joke may be expecting any accountability to come with the notion of being cancelled.
