January 1, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Women riding a motorcycle in India is not a new thing anymore. We have woman riders who have even participated in competitions and the also know how to perform stunts. There are have been several instances where women riders have been seen riding motorcycle and sharing the same on social media. One such video of women riding a motorcycle has now gone viral on the internet. In the video that has been shared on social media shows two women who are wearing saree are seen riding a Royal Enfield motorcycle at night.

The video has been shared by on her Instagram profile. In this video that has now gone viral on the internet shows two women sitting on a current generation Royal Enfield motorcycle. The woman riding the motorcycle seems pretty confident and looks like she has been riding the same for quite some time. The pillion is a woman too and she is sitting calmly and in between she can be seen looking at the camera that was recording the video. The video was recorded at night and the road was not very well lit. However, it looks like that was not a problem for the rider.

One thing that was different in this video from others is that both the rider and the pillion were wearing saree while riding the motorcycle. She was rding the motorcycle without any issue and many of them actually lauded them for the same in the comment section. It is not everyday that you see a woman riding a motorcycle wearing a saree. She was wearing the traditional attire and was riding confidently. Ever since the video has been posted, it has received close to 70,000 views and close to 900 comments.

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 motorcycle seen here in the video is the current generation bike which was launched in the market last year. It is one of the popular models from the manufacturer and it is now based on a new platform and reworked engine. The motorcycle is now a lot more smoother and the engine is way more refined than before. The motorcycle also gets a semi-digital instrument cluster that shows fuel level, trip meter and also odometer readings.

One more thing that you would notice in the video is that both rider and pillion are not wearing a riding helmet. This is actually not something that should be encouraged. They probably would have not worn the helmet as they wanted to record a video. A riding helmet is extremely important while riding a two wheeler. We have featured several stories on our website in the past, where it shows how a good helmet actually saved the life of the rider. Both pillion and the rider should wear a helmet. Accident can happen to anyone at any point of time and a helmet would save the rider from head injury of any sort. Simply wearing a hemet for name sake is not going to help until and unless you fasten the buckle on your helmet.

From a salmon punching a bear in the face to a penguin that seems to have no head, the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards announced its winners this year.

The organization fields thousands of submissions for each of its photo categories: creatures of the land, creatures of the air, creatures of the sea, a junior award for photographers 18 years old or under, an internet portfolio award, and a people’s choice award.

Jennifer Hadley, a photographer from Texas, claimed the top prize as the overall winner for her January 2021 photo of a 3-month-old lion cub tumbling out of a tree in the Serengeti region of Tanzania.

“It was definitely unexpected,” Hadley told NPR. “How often do you see cats falling out of trees?”

Though shots like these are often unpredictable, she said photographers prepare themselves for the unexpected.

“What you can anticipate is potentially something happening so you want to position yourself in the way you think that animals will move, where the light is, how that’s going to affect the speed of your camera,” Hadley said.

Hadley will receive a handmade trophy from the Wonder Workshop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, two photography bags, and a one-week safari in Kenya. There, she hopes to potentially capture the great migration, when millions of zebras, wildebeests and gazelles roam across the Serengeti during the dry season in search of fresh grass and water.

“It was a little bit scary, because I had a good job, well paid, and it’s what I’ve done my whole career. So to make that leap and go into the unknown and try something completely different, that I didn’t know if I could really do on a professional level or not, was nerve-wracking,” she said. “But I just thought, if not now, when?”

John Chaney, a businessman and photographer of over 50 years, was one of the 10 “highly commended winners,” recognized for his August 2021 photo of a salmon seemingly punching a bear in the face at the foot of Alaska’s Brooks Falls.

From late June to September, mature salmon make an arduous upriver journey from the ocean to the gravel beds of their birth to spawn every two to three years. The National Park Service estimates 200,000 to 400,000 salmon successfully leap the waterfalls each year.

Chaney said bears planted themselves at the top and bottom of Brooks Falls to feed on the flapping salmon.

“Wherever wildlife is happening, you try to stake out a good spot and you just take pictures for hours trying to get the best image, whether it’s a unique facial expression or an animal doing something unique to make the picture special,” he told NPR.

Chaney said he does not have any tips or tricks to taking a comedic shot.

“It’s just luck,” he said.

Her laugh made ‘ears tickle’: Family mourns Kayla Rae, found dead in Winnipeg bus shelter | CBC News

December 31, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Kayla Rae laughed like a hyena and lit up a room, drawing people toward her — and it’s those memories that will live on, outshining the tragic ending to her life in bus shelter on a frigid Winnipeg afternoon, says her sister.

“We made so many fun memories I will forever keep close to me,” said Kesha Rae, 24 — three years younger than Kayla.

“She was always laughing and cracking jokes with everyone she loved. Growing up she was the big sister I adored to be.”

Joanne Rae, the mother of the two young women, described Kayla’s laugh as the kind “that will make your ears tickle.”

“She was helpful. She was kind. She had compassion,” Joanne said between sobs. “She was just a loving, caring person [who] just got mixed up.”

On Monday, as a cold front blew in and temperatures dropped far below normal, street outreach workers found Kayla unresponsive under blankets, lying on the floor of a Winnipeg Transit shelter.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to the bus shelter at the corner of Tache Avenue and Goulet Street — a block from St. Boniface Hospital — around 1:45 p.m, where they found a person in critical condition.

Due to privacy issues, no further details were provided by the city, but Kesha said her big sister — whom everyone called Birdy — died from cardiac arrest.

Kayla was the second-oldest of seven kids from a family in North Spirit Lake First Nation in northwestern Ontario, an Oji-Cree community just over 300 kilometres north of Kenora.

Kesha was adopted as an infant and moved to Winnipeg. Not long after, her biological family moved to the city as well.

Her two families were extremely close, so she saw her siblings regularly. When she was 12, Kesha’s biological family moved back to North Spirit Lake, while she remained in Winnipeg.

“I didn’t see Kayla a whole lot … but we always talked on the phone, or I flew out to visit my mom and the rest of my siblings every summer,” said Kesha.

When she was 17, her adoptive mother died, so Kesha moved to North Spirit Lake to live with the others.

“I remember [when] we lived in Ontario, [Kayla] was always up to something — drawing or watching a show in her room, playing with her hair — dyeing or styling it — or helping my mom with the motel she runs.

“She loved her siblings and family with all her heart,” Kesha said.

“My forever favourite memory is when me, her and my other sister, Kiara, were laughing together and one of my cousins called us a pack of hyenas ’cause of how we sounded laughing together.”

Kayla was an honour roll student and someone who made friends wherever she went, Kesha said.

“She was the type of person to call you her best friend when she first meets you.”

At 19, Kesha moved back to Winnipeg. Kayla followed soon after, Joanne said.

Most recently, Kayla was living at the home of an aunt in the city and helping out at a shelter for homeless people.

It seemed like Kayla had turned a corner after struggles that began around 2015, when she witnessed a fatal hit and run that left her cousin dead on the reserve, her mother said. She started using drugs to numb the trauma.

“That’s where it all began. Everything shattered for her.”

For the first couple of years Kayla was in Winnipeg, Joanne tried to encourage her to move back to Ontario, “but the more I pushed, the more I lost her.”

So Joanne backed off. During the past couple of years, everything seemed much better.

“She was totally getting out of it,” Joanne said. “She’s been staying clean.”

Joanne visited the city two weeks ago to spend time with Kayla and brought along three of her younger brothers. The group spent time together and shopped at the malls.

“She was OK,” Joanne said, her voice falling into cries.

“I feel like I just missed her. Now she’s gone.”
