“After two days of refusing to go to the beach, my 3-year-old wordlessly walked off the property, across the street, & onto the beach. I followed. She stopped at the shore, gazed at the ocean, then quietly said ‘ok I go back now’ & turned & went back inside” —@KCDavisSays

Since his death, Jock’s wife Lauren has kept his Instagram account open in order to share memories of him with his fans and provide updates on how her family is coping.
In her latest post, she wrote that Alfie had asked her to do some of the things he had traditionally enjoyed doing with his Dad.
“Alfie has asked me to do some of his Papa activities with him – making crepes and doing hours of Lego were in his requests,” she wrote.
“I went with the easiest option of a trip to the barber, which the boys used to do together, followed by gelato.
“It put a smile on his face, which was beautiful.”
She shared a series of pictures of Alfie getting his hair cut, smiling as he showed off the end result, and enjoying his gelato.
The sweet post prompted an outpouring of love and support from followers.
“Oh bless him,” one follower wrote.
“I hope somewhere in all of this … that you are able to find a moment for you.
“Take care.”
“Lovely to see him smiling,” another wrote simply.
“Sweet boy!” wrote one follower.
“Such a beautiful smile.
“So beautiful that you are keeping the memories he shared with his Papa fresh in his mind.”
“The smile on that face says it all really,” said one.
“Good job Mamma.”
“Beautiful! What a sweet moment,” observed another.
“So nice to see that big smile!
“So happy this was the first thing to pop up on my Insta feed.”
Apart from son Alfie, the couple have a daughter, Isla, together.
Jock also has two adult children, Ava and Sophia, from previous marriages.
Lauren said she had deliberated about whether to keep his social media account going, but decided it was an important way to keep his memory alive.
Her previous post was shared on the seventh anniversary of the day Jock proposed.
“This week seven years ago, up in the Scottish Highlands, Jock asked me to marry him,” she wrote on June 29.
“He took me on a 4WD adventure from Loch Lomond, up some hectic winding roads, to the top of a windy mountain.
“Down on one knee he asked that we give our future children the opportunity to love and enjoy Scotland as we did, he also proclaimed that he loved me more than Tunnocks Caramel Logs (which is a lot!)“
That post prompted a plethora of comments thanking Lauren for sharing memories of the man she knew and loved with his fans.
“I’m so sorry for your loss, and I completely admire how you are keeping Jock’s memory going, and sharing these beautiful moments with us all,” one follower wrote.
“Sending ❤️ and thinking of you and the children.”

Barbie first reactions call the film “perfection” and “laugh-out-loud funny” | GamesRadar+
The first reactions for Greta Gerwig’s highly-anticipated Barbie movie are here, and everyone is blown away by the pink-tastic movie.
The fantasy comedy is directed by Gerwig from a script by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach. Per the official logline, “After being expelled from Barbieland for being a less-than-perfect doll, Barbie (Robbie) sets off to the real world to find true happiness with a little help from Ken (Ryan Gosling).”
“I can’t officially quit Twitter before telling you all that #Barbie is currently my favorite film of the year,” writes ComicBook.com’s Jamie Jirak. “Greta Gerwig somehow exceeded my expectations. She tackles the positives and negatives of Barbie so beautifully. Give Ryan Gosling an Oscar nomination, I’m dead serious!”
The Atom Review’s verdict is: “Heartfelt & hilarious! Margot Robbie’s crown jewel performance (Oscars here we come). It’s super fun, endearing & magical with a 3rd act that’ll beach you off. This isn’t just another comedy, it’s Greta Gerwig’s BEST movie ever!! A fitting end setting what’s next”
“I saw #BarbieTheMovie and Greta Gerwig left me all in my feelings as did the production design, costumes, hair and makeup! I was living for the dance numbers led by Simu Liu! It’s overblown fun with a feminist twist,” says critic Carla Renata.
“#BarbieTheMovie is witty, heartfelt, and downright fun at times. Ryan Gosling is a scene stealer delivering most of the laughs while Margot Robbie’s heartfelt performance will tug at your heartstrings. While I enjoyed most of the film the screenplay feels bloated at times,” is critic Sharronda Williams‘ verdict.
“Further BARBIE thoughts to come but the number one is I can’t believe Greta Gerwig got away with it! (said admiringly)” says The New York Times’ Kyle Buchanan.
“Barbie is perfection. Greta Gerwig delivers a nuanced commentary on what it means to be a woman in a whimsical, wonderful and laugh-out-loud funny romp. The entire cast shines, especially Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in roles they were clearly born to play,” says Variety’s Katcy Stephan.
“Barbie caught me off guard & I mean that in the best way possible. It’s funny, bombastic, & very smart. Greta Gerwig aims for the fences & hits a home-run. Margot Robbie’s performance is great & Ryan Gosling & Simu Liu are pure entertainment! The whole cast is brilliant!” is the take of Screen Rant’s Joseph Deckelmeier.
“I have seen #Barbie! The craftsmanship is incredible. In particular the costume & production design includes next-level work that heavily contributes to creating the feeling that these truly are Barbies, their dream houses, and their worlds come to life,” says Collider’s Perri Nemiroff. “As for the story, that’s where I’m a bit more mixed. I think the film serves Margot Robbie’s Barbie and her journey especially well, but there are other characters experiencing important arcs that needed more screen time to really dig into and explore to the fullest.”
Barbie is set to hit theaters on July 21, 2023. You can watch the trailer through the link. For more, check out our list of the most exciting upcoming movies in 2023 and beyond, or, skip straight to the good stuff with our list of movie release dates.
