Travis Kelce TD elicits hilarious Taylor Swift reference from announcer Ian Eagle amid dating rumors – CBSSports.com

March 11, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

CBS Sports announcer Ian Eagle is clearly plugged into pop culture and showed it by making an elite reference during Sunday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars. Travis Kelce is rumored to be dating singer Taylor Swift, so Eagle snuck in a song reference during the Chiefs star tight end’s third-quarter touchdown.

When Kelce, born in 1989, caught a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes, Eagle said, “Kelce finds a blank space for the score.”

Eagle is a confirmed Swiftie.

It was Kelce’s regular season debut after missing Week 1 due to injury, and he was ready for it, shaking off any offseason rust. He scored the first Chiefs touchdown of the second half, making it 14-6 Kansas City. Kelce knows the end zone all too well, as the score was the 70th touchdown of his career.

Kelce forgot that the Jaguars defense existed when he caught the nine-yard pass from Mahomes. It seems the connection between Kelce and Mahomes will forever and always be successful. The last time the two teamed up for a TD was in their Super Bowl LVII win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Chiefs went on to win 17-9 and the team can breathe a sigh of relief after bouncing back from last week’s loss to the Detroit Lions. Everything has changed for the Chiefs from Week 1 to Week 2, earning their first win of the season on Sunday and I can imagine there was a lot of happiness in the locker room after the victory.

Neither Kelce or Swift have confirmed their dating status, but the two-time Super Bowl champion does seem to be a fan. He attended her popular Eras Tour and made a friendship bracelet, a tradition for fans at her concert, with his number on it to hand to her.

Kelce did not get to see Swift before or after her concert because she is on vocal rest outside of her performances. He jokingly mentioned he was “butthurt” that he never got to give the Grammy winner his bracelet.

When asked about his brother’s relationship status, his brother, Eagles star center Jason Kelce, would not comment on whether Travis was dating the pop star.

Kelce missed the team’s opening game with a knee injury, but now that he is back he can expect some more Swift references to be made around him.

Kelce showed up to EverBank Stadium in style and the end game was a win for the tight end.

Next week, the Chiefs get to stay, stay, stay at home and host the Chicago Bears, where they’ll look to improve to 2-1. Then in Week 4, the Jets will be saying “welcome to New York” as they host the defending champions.

Kelce is hoping to help the Chiefs become the last great American dynasty and win another Super Bowl, which would seal that status.

Viral vision emerges of ‘crazy’ toilet chaos at Sydney Marathon | 7NEWS

March 10, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

The Sydney Marathon has boasted a record number of participants with thousands turning out to pound the pavement on a warm spring Sunday morning.

More than 17,000 runners registered to tackle Sunday’s gruelling 42km course, the figure more than double the number who took part in Australia’s previous biggest marathon, held in Melbourne in 2019 with 8100 runners.

But the record number produced ‘crazy’ scenes under the Harbour Bridge where the toilets were.

In somewhat gross scenes, one runner posted a video on social media of the queues that had formed at the toilets, with thousands of people waiting to use the pop-up loos.

“Crazy! Queuing for toilets at 2023 Sydney Marathon,” the runner wrote (watch the video).

The marathon doubles as the Australian marathon championship and Sinead Diver and Brett Robinson battled unseasonably hot weather to win the national titles.

Diver, 46, was the first Australian across the line in the women’s race in eighth spot in two hours 31 minutes 27 seconds, nearly nine minutes ahead of fellow Victorian Kate Mason.

The race was won by Kenyan Betsy Saina in 2:26:47.

The next six runners home were all African nationals.

The elite men’s race produced an even more dominant performance by the African contingent, headed by Moroccan winner Othmane El Goumri (2:08:20).

Robinson, 32, was the first non-African finisher in eighth spot in 2:23:05 – more than 15 minutes slower than the national record he set late last year in Japan.

Australian paralympian champion Madison de Rozario was first across the line in her wheelchair event.

The event was vying for inclusion as an Abbott World Marathon Major, alongside iconic races in New York, Boston, Chicago, London, Tokyo and Berlin.

Last year, Sydney became the first marathon in the southern hemisphere to be given Platinum Label status by World Athletics, and it is now in its second year of a three-year candidacy period to become a major marathon.

Tourism Minister John Graham said Sydney had a long history of hosting major international sporting events.

“No city in the world has a greater combination of natural beauty and iconic infrastructure for hosting a marathon than Sydney,” he said.

“With so many incredible vantage points and entertainment hubs added to the event, the Sydney Marathon is going to provide a festival atmosphere for spectators and runners.”

Runners were met with warm temperatures with Sydney a comfortable 20C at about 7am.

The temperature rose later in the morning, with the city expected to reach a top of 30C on Sunday.

NSW Police warned Sydney would be busy because of the marathon and reminded people to adhere to heat messages, keep their cool and look out for each other.

The Bureau of Meteorology was predicting heatwave temperatures for the NSW South Coast in coming days.

NSW Police had not recorded any major incidents at the marathon.

The event included five races – a half and full marathon, a wheelchair marathon, a 10km bridge run and a family fun run.

To help raise the marathon’s profile, four spectator sites were set up in Pyrmont, The Rocks, Surry Hills and Moore Park.

The sites offered free coffee, food trucks, custom sign workshops, DJs, drag queen performances, prize giveaways and large screens broadcasting the marathon live.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge, Cahill Expressway and Western Distributor were to be closed from 4am to 10am on Sunday.

The Sydney Harbour Tunnel will remain open but extensive delays are expected.

Jadon Sancho gets last laugh over Erik ten Hag with final act of defiance

March 10, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Finally. After a spat which lasted months, dragged all parties’ names through the mud and severely hindered Manchester United’s squad options, Jadon Sancho has got his wish. The United winger has signed a loan deal with former club Borussia Dortmund for six months. While his exit from Manchester is not permanent, this is quite likely to be the end for him as far as his involvement under Erik ten Hag is concerned. Ten Hag graciously wished Sancho well in his first press conference since the forward’s departure for Germany. However, there is no doubting he would have been unimpressed by the 23-year-old’s social media activity in the hours which have followed the official announcement. READ MORE: Sancho fires two-word message to United READ MORE: Dortmund give Sancho what United couldn’t Choosing to reactivate his social media, Sancho preceded to share plenty of images of him back out on the grass. “Good to be back on the pitch,” the Englishman posted while smiling in a training session. But what the tweet failed to mention was it was his actions which led to his absence from the training ground. It is widely understood a simple apology to Ten Hag would have ended the exile but Sancho felt the deletion of the post which claimed he had been ‘scapegoated’ by the club in September was enough. Clearly the winger knew he was in the wrong to some degree, or else he would not have chosen to delete the post, although there was no great desire to come back into the fold at United. If there was, he would have bowed to Ten Hag’s demand. His final act of defiance came during his unveiling interview with Dortmund. Discussing his return, Sancho said: “When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like ‘coming home’. I know the club inside and out, I’ve always been very close with the fans here, and I’ve never lost contact with those in charge. “I can’t wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League.” Ultimately, that is all Sancho wanted since the Ten Hag fallout began. He never saw it as a means to earn his place back. Instead he used it to push for his exit and therefore has managed to get the last laugh.
