The Weakest Link fans have been left in hysterics after Helen Flanagan gave a hilarious answer to an easy question. The former Coronation Street star, 33, appeared on the celebrity quiz show on Saturday night, alongside fellow stars Kaye Adams, JB Gill, Adam Pearson, Toyah Willcox, Davood Ghadami and Ivo Graham. Unfortunately the nerves seemed to be getting to Helen and she didn’t get off to a great start with several wrong answers. Host Romesh Ranganathan then asked her: ‘In geology the White Cliffs of Dover are principally formed from what substance – chalk or cheese?’ Helen hesitated and then answered: ‘Cheese?’ before Romesh informed her the correct answer was chalk. The Weakest Link fans have been left in hysterics after Helen Flanagan gave a hilarious answer to an easy question The former Coronation Street star, 33, appeared on the celebrity quiz show on Saturday night, alongside fellow stars Kaye Adams, JB Gill, Adam Pearson, Toyah Willcox, Davood Ghadami and Ivo Graham Unfortunately the nerves seemed to be getting to Helen and she didn’t get off to a great start with several wrong answers The actress later explained that she had thought Dover was in Cornwall, and then automatically thought of cheese. Viewers at home couldn’t help but crack up at the comedic answer, and took to social media to share their reactions. One wrote: ‘Just spat my coffee out’ while another added: ‘CHEESE! BLOODY CHEESE! I AM DYING!!!!’ A third person said: Saw this live as it happened and couldn’t believe my ears’ while a fourth echoed: ‘The white cliffs of Dover made of Cheese? F@cking Cheese?’ Another joked: ‘Im off to the White Cliffs of Dover with my cheese knife and some crackers #WeakestLink …… looking to find them on my map of Cornwall.’ And a sixth wrote: ‘Breaking news: Helen Flanagan (former Corrie actress) believes that the White Cliffs of Dover are made of Cheese. No, really, she just told us’. Other fans took the opportunity to poke fun at the answer and show off their best cheese jokes and puns. One tweeted: ‘Cheese that one up to nerves’ while a second quipped: ‘They’ll be blue cheese over, the white cliffs of Dover’. Viewers at home couldn’t help but crack up at the comedic answer, and took to social media to share their reactions A third guessed: ‘Obviously a fan of Wallace and Gromit’ while another echoed: ‘The moon is also made of cheese’. Someone else joked: ‘But has anyone actually checked the cliffs recently. We are all going to look a little silly if she’s right. Just saying.’ And a sixth person cleverly wrote: ‘What are you talking about? I thought it was Edam good answer’ while a seventh chimed in: ‘Not safe at the white cliffs of Dover these days , too much falling De Brie’. Sadly things didn’t get much better for Helen, as she failed to guess the name in music for when three or more notes are played at the same time, which is chord. She also passed on the question asking what is the word for the vapour which comes from water when it reaches 100-degrees Celsius, not knowing it to be steam. Her other contestants responded by unanimously voting her off as the Weakest Link, but Helen left with a smile, admitting she was ‘out of my depth. After her exit she said: ‘I was very shocked that I was voted the weakest link. It’s quite terrifying, the pressure, and you’ve got to think quick.’ She added: ‘I have had fun, I wanted to stay longer. I actually did try but I was out of my depth. ‘Do you know what it was? It was the pressure. To be fair, I think I got really difficult questions. All I heard was Dover, and I thought, Dover, Cornwall kind of thing, Cornish, so I just went “cheese”.’ Other fans took the opportunity to poke fun at the answer and show off their best cheese jokes and puns
