‘A**hole’ dog adopted after Texas shelter’s hilarious Facebook post
‘A**hole’ dog adopted after Texas shelter’s hilarious Facebook post WICHITA FALLS, Texas – A Texas dog has a new home after a hilarious Humane Society post went viral online. The post from the Humane Society of Wichita County describes Eddie the dog as an “a**hole.” “Eddie hates other dogs, he’s 17 pounds and could take on a Rottweiler and win,” said the post last Thursday. The post goes on to say that if Eddie had an accent that he would sound like he is from the Bronx and would be able to hold his own in the bar fight. “If you think you are man enough to adopt him, please be out guest. We want Eddie out of here because he scares our big dogs,” the post ends. The original has been shared more than 70,000 times on Facebook. It worked too. Linda Brooks says she saw the post and took her daughter from Cleburne to Witchita Falls to pick up the pup. Less than 8 hours after Eddie’s photo went up online, the Human Society posted a photo of Eddie with Linda’s daughter Taryn. The harsh words seemed to have an effect. The shelter originally posted about Eddie on Facebook on Oct. 30 saying the Dachshund mix was a “little nervous,” but very sweet. It wasn’t until the shelter got real that he found a new home. The Brooks’ say they have received a great deal of attention since adopting the pup and even started a Facebook page of their own. Thousands have already joined the page, which Brooks says is looking to share the message of adopting pets from shelters, rather than buying from breeders. (Source: Linda Brooks) As for Eddie, Brooks says things have been great since taking him home last week. “We just live in Eddie’s world,” she told FOX 4.

Mandy Moore to SAG-AFTRA ‘Is This A Joke?’
What is Mandy Moore doing now?
Right at this moment, Mandy Moore wants SAG-AFTRA to get their priorities straight after the union prioritised ‘Halloween Guidelines’ over negotiations.
And really, why is the union more concerned about people dressing as characters from scrapped productions when they should be more concerned about the ceasing of negotiations?

So, what does the actor’s union want people to do instead of trying to get them back to work?
For Halloween, try to avoid anything related to scrapped content and don’t post anything related to scrapped content.
“Choose costumes inspired by generalized characters and figures (ghost, zombie, spider, etc.),” the post read.
Mandy Moore responds to the ‘guidelines.’
Meanwhile, Moore has something to say about the guidelines alright.
“Is this a joke?” Mandy wrote. Adding, “”Come on @sagaftra. This is what’s important?”

Instead of aiming towards getting their actors what they are owed, they’re more concerned about image.
But this just makes the SAG-AFTRA and the Hollywood CEO’s look bad- er, worse than they already do.
Understandably, Mandy is frustrated with the lack of progress in negotiations, and she is not the only one.
The response to SAG-AFTRA Halloween guidelines was predictable.
Multiple X posts all read the same lines- that the SAG-AFTRA leaders have become a joke.
With multiple post slamming the current leadership for endangering the livelihood of their members.
One post read, “They look like a complete joke focusing on Halloween costumes rather than getting the strike over.”
While other posts are slamming Fran Drescher specifically for her involvement in the shift in focus.
First post rightly pointed out that the strike had gone on long enough.
“The sag leadership needs to get its act together, it’s not cute anymore. These are people’s careers. Your members won’t hold out forever nor should they. You’re pushing people to the point of quitting acting and leaving the union. SAG might get broken up because of this.”
Another post read, “I guess Fran isn’t so Fine after this.”
But perhaps the most telling was the response from the former president of SAG-AFTRA, Melissa Gilbert.
When the former President of SAG-AFTRA calls the current Pres & her*Chief Negotiator a “joke” — while the whole of the world is laughing at their idiotic suggestions, and A-listers are revolting — it’s time to step down @frandrescher @DuncanCI #sagaftra #amptp #sagaftrastrike pic.twitter.com/c4jm6ly38z

So, Mandy Moore is not without support in her criticism of the SAG-AFTRA, and let’s keep our fingers crossed they get back to the negotiation table.

Ryan Gosling is a very funny man – Polygon
Here are some facts about Ryan Thomas Gosling:
That last point is now at the forefront of everyone’s minds, thanks to the colossal success of Barbie, where Gosling’s uproarious, doe-eyed portrayal of Ken virtually steals the show. For a long time, however, this felt like a hidden talent of Gosling’s, a thing he was very capable of but rarely asked to do. An impossibly handsome man, Gosling is most famous as a lead in films like The Notebook, Drive, La La Land, and Blade Runner 2049, films that put his face on a poster and invite you to join him on a journey to somewhere impossibly romantic and/or cool.
In between, however, were comedies where Gosling really stole the show, usually as part of an ensemble or opposite another talented presence. Movies like Crazy, Stupid, Love, where his effortless cool is contrasted with Steve Carell’s divorcé awkwardness, or The Big Short, which weaponizes his charms to portray a slimy bond salesman, a smarmy bright spot in a film that trafficked in nonstop smarm.
Barbie is notable because it’s one of the few times Gosling has taken on a bona fide lead role in a comedy. The two previous examples are Shane Black’s excellent comedy-noir The Nice Guys, and the sweet indie Lars and the Real Girl, about a nice man’s romantic relationship with a sex doll and the small town that he eventually finds community in.
The Nice Guys, an excellent staple of Netflix’s library, might be Gosling’s funniest role. As hapless private eye and single father Holland March, Gosling plays a man hired to find a missing porn star. He soon finds himself hopelessly over his head and entangled with bruiser Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe), his reluctant partner on the case. The Nice Guys sees Gosling operating in a wide range of modes — in one scene, he’s Lou Costello, in another, he’s Elliott Gould by way of Robert Downey Jr. Later, he’s Buster Keaton. It’s wonderful.
Lars and the Real Girl demonstrates what makes Gosling such a gifted comedic performer, and it’s also the reason he’s good in all of his roles: It’s his sincerity. Lars is a film that could easily trade in cheap jokes and crude humor, but it finds a way to consistently focus on genuine emotion and warmth instead, while also never becoming overly saccharine. This is Gosling’s superpower: His characters believe in things so purely and completely, with a conviction so palpable you can almost see it spilling out of his eyes.
This is what Ken has in common with the Driver, with Blade Runner 2049’s K, with his version of Neil Armstrong in Damien Chazelle’s First Man, with Dean Pereira in Blue Valentine or Sebastian in La La Land. That overwhelming belief makes his comedies funnier and his dramas more wrenching; it’s why even his more confounding action films, like Only God Forgives, still manage to feel strangely soulful. Cinema is make-believe, and Ryan Gosling is one of its biggest believers.
