Japanese Artist Kazuya Ishikawa Creates Hilarious Erasers That Slowly “Bald” As You Use Them

October 26, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Reviewing for an upcoming exam is no easy feat, but it doesn’t have to be boring. For starters, you can get a variety of awesome items to brighten up your workspace. And if you’re looking for something that will help you stay motivated, then this balding salary man eraser might just be what you need.

Designed by Japanese artist Kazuya Ishikawa, this pencil eraser humorously depicts a distressed, middle-aged corporate employee in a brown suit.

This balding salary man eraser is a good reminder to refrain from making careless mistakes

Originally, he sports a full-grown hair which gradually diminishes with your continued use of the eraser. So, it’s totally up to you to decide which side of his head will go bald first. And if you use it long enough, chances are you’ll only be left with a headless body. Yikes!

Well, as brutal as it seems, in a way, it also alludes to the harsh reality of corporate life. Still, we just couldn’t deny the fact that it’s a brilliant concept and design. After all, it might be an effective reminder for you to refrain from making careless mistakes to avoid using the eraser.

But if you simply don’t like the thought of making another person suffer the consequences of your mistakes, perhaps this balding monk variant will make it more tolerable to you. Unlike the salary man, this monk features a calm face, so you don’t have to feel much guilt about shaving his hair!

Sadly, both designs are still product concepts, so there’s no way to purchase the actual items for now. However, judging by the buzz they generated on Twitter, it’s safe to say that people loved the concept behind them. So, let’s just hope this would convince the artist to produce them.

In the meantime, feel free to follow the concept designer on Twitter to see more of his witty designs including a skirt-inspired pen holder, a ruler with a cutter guide, and more.
