50 Hilarious Times Pets Didn’t Get Away With Stealing Food (New Pics)

August 15, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

It doesn’t matter if you own a big hound or a fluffy little tabby, you know how persuasive an animal can be when they smell a tasty snack. From wagging their tails to their piercing gaze, they have plenty of weapons at their disposal to convince us to give them a bite.

And if all fails, some are determined enough to try out the last option — stealing!

We at Bored Panda put together a new collection of amusing photographic evidence, showcasing shameless pet thieves in the middle of their crimes. I wonder what excuse would they give to a judge.

According to biologist Genevieve Dugal, there are several reasons why a dog might be stealing food, with the most obvious being that they’re just hungry. Especially if they have understood very well that the kitchen counter or the dining table conceals tasty treasures to reach for!

After all, you spend your time cooking mouth-watering food there; it’s normal for your dog to want to nibble on a piece of it too.

“Even if your dog is not necessarily hungry, he still tries to steal food because he receives a reward each time he succeeds,” Dugal added.

“And we’re not just talking about the piece of meat as such: by stealing food from under your nose, your pup also catches your eye!”

Indeed, who has never reacted in front of their dog trying to steal food by telling him to stop or by suggesting to go get the ball instead?

So even if you reprimand them, you are paying attention to your pet and that gives him a good reason to keep at it.

“In short, when a dog behaves in a certain way and that behavior is rewarded or reinforced, they are more likely to repeat that behavior over and over again,” Dugal explained.

“Finding a delicious piece of chicken on the counter is an incredible reward in itself. But if he also gets your attention every time, he is likely to repeat this behavior until he is no longer rewarded.”

Whether you have a young puppy or a senior dog, a lack of obedience training may be the reason why he keeps jumping on around the kitchen or stealing food elsewhere. Some dogs can steal food simply because they never learned it was forbidden. Or maybe they just need a little reminder!

To remedy this behavior, you will need to teach—or re-teach—your doggo to react differently to food that is not theirs.

In other words, your pooch might be bored! The lack of physical and mental stimulation can lead to many behavioral problems, including stealing food

But as we can see, cats can commit this crime too. First and foremost they are natural-born hunters so even if you routinely lay out the very best cat food or best wet food in their bowls every day, it’s still in their nature to catch something.

Cats love to explore, hence why outdoor kitties often come back with a small rodent or bird from their excursions, but even this might not stop them from pouncing on your dinner!

At first, it may be entertaining watching your cat sneak a bite, but it’s in your (and the animal’s) best interest to put an end to this.

Cats have sensitive digestive systems and don’t process foods that are high in sugar or fat well enough.

Also, parasites can spread from the food that they’ve stolen, which is another risk that you don’t want to experience.

Trained vet, Jo Woodnutt said, “Cats might steal food because they’re hungry, because they want attention, or because they like your food better than theirs!”

“Consider whether your cat could be hungry – did you forget to feed them? Have they recently been put on a diet?”. If your cat appears hungry despite getting enough calories, Woodnutt recommends considering whether or not they have other symptoms. Hunger can be a sign of common cat conditions like hyperthyroidism and diabetes.

When your cat appears immediately when you get the frying pan out, it’s possible that they are just begging for your attention or want to be involved, particularly if their young or extra curious. But they it could also be a sign of their dominant behavior, trying to assert their ‘right’ to what’s on your plate.

Woodnutt says this most commonly happens because human food is interesting and tastes different from what they’re used to. “The added salt and sugar in our food can make it taste even nicer to cats. The different textures are exciting, too,” she explained, “Some cats eat human food to get attention – even though it’s usually negative attention (telling them off), it’s better than nothing.”

The best way to deal with the problem is not to let it develop in the first place. If your cat begs, never feed tidbits and make sure any visitors know that’s the house rule. Any food accidentally dropped on the floor should be cleared up as soon as possible. Don’t leave food lying around, either because some cats are very accomplished thieves and can open cupboards or even boxes.

If you’ve inherited a cat with a problem – perhaps you’ve rehomed a cat from an elderly relative, or taken in a shelter cat – then you’ll need to go to greater lengths to retrain him. Never reward begging behavior with food from the table. You can feed your cat at a similar time to your own mealtime so that you can be sure he’s not actually hungry. (Cats in the wild prefer small, regular meals and may eat several times a day, so you could try feeding yours three or even four smaller meals during the day.)

Another great tool is distraction. You can get a cat treat ball and put his meal in that, so that they have to work a lot harder to get at it or offer a favorite toy. If your cat’s unwanted behavior is because he’s bored, then increasing playtimes can help.

Smile on the Tiles photographer Alex Christaki has died – Plymouth Live

August 14, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Heartfelt tributes have poured in for a popular Plymouth photographer, known as ‘Mr Smile on the Tiles’. Alex Christaki was a familiar face in the nightlife scene, always spotted with a camera in hand.

The 50-year-old had a love for photography from a young age after his brother got a camera. He started taking photographs when he was in school and his passion grew.

Alex started Smile on the Tiles in 2005 and had been taking our photographs in Plymouth clubs, pubs and bars – and even on the street for over 16 years. In a post on his SmileontheTiles website, Alex admits he took his “first accidental photo” at View 2 on the Barbican in October 2005.

By November that year, he had 10,000 users and the following month, had his first spread of photographs in The Herald. Five years later, his business expanded and he was selling keyrings in Union Rooms. Between 2010 and 2012, Alex and his team had taken a whopping one million photographs of partygoers.

In 2019, Alex and his team had visited 200 different venues, created 25,000 albums and covered 2,000 nights out.

Alex, a trained pianist, composer and music teacher, was also responsible for launching the Plymouth Street Pianos project and sponsored one of the street pianos which appeared in the city in 2018.

Alex, who was a self-taught musician who learned from YouTube videos, said the project was “aimed at supporting local artists and musicians while building a community focus around music and the arts”. The initial project, Street Pianos, saw 1,850 pianos installed in 55 cities across the globe and all contain the message ‘play me, I’m yours’.

News of Alex’s death broke yesterday, with hundreds of people leaving touching tributes on social media. One said: “RIP Alex, you were a wonderful person. You will not be forgotten.”

A second said: “This is such sad news to read absolutely gutted. Such a lovely man capturing all of the best but drunken moments on a night out. You will be missed. Rest in peace.”

AFL 2023: Mason Cox on his crazy journey to 100 games for Collingwood Magpies

August 14, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

“For me personally it was a good way of explaining what AFL is to a broader market, and then also being able to tell my story within it,” Cox says. “I’ve got a passion for growing the game internationally, and it’s going to take a bit of effort from my side, but also the AFL side and investment from them to see the benefit of it.”

He will share his milestone with Steele Sidebottom’s 300th, which he says “probably outdoes my little 100, to be honest”. But Cox’s moment of humility – unlike most Australians, he is happy to talk himself up – is probably wrong. Given Cox didn’t even know AFL existed until he was 23, you could argue the scale of his achievement even exceeds Sidebottom’s.

“It’s been a crazy journey,” he says. “It’s pretty unique, but it’s also pretty cool, in the same breath – to be able to say that you’re the only person to really have done something from the background that you come from. So that’s something I’ll definitely hold close to me.”

In the 60 Minutes interview, coach Craig McRae said Cox had a chip on his shoulder that drove him to prove others wrong. Cox is blunter, and funnier. Asked the best thing about being an AFL player, he quips: “I’m a bit of a competitive prick, so putting that energy out on an AFL field and beating the shit out of people is always nice.” He’s joking, but not by much.

And as much as he’s proving his many doubters wrong, Cox is proving McRae right. McRae was Collingwood’s head of development when he came to the club, and Cox thanks his coach for the time and effort he has invested in him, not just in developing his skills, but for making him feel at home.

When McRae returned to coach Collingwood, things were getting dark. “There was a lot of turmoil, as far as people getting sacked, and moved on, there was uncertainty about the future and a lot of question marks around the club in general,” Cox says. He was, he says, getting towards the back end of his career, and wondered if he, too, would be pushed out.

Cox is glad to repay the faith that Craig McRae showed in him.Credit: Getty Images

But Cox was retained, and under McRae, he is blossoming again. “I’ve always had that close connection with him over the years. He’s given so much to me at the beginning of my career, and helping me get to where I’m at now – the opportunity to be able to repay that faith was a major reason for me coming back to the club.”

And here’s the thing: at 32, in his ninth season of football, Cox is playing the most consistently influential football of his career. He doesn’t have to tear games apart, as he famously did against Richmond in the 2018 preliminary final. Playing as a ruckman who goes forward instead of the other way around, he could go for a few more years yet.

I’m an Olympian but posting sexy bikini pics on OnlyFans pays my bills – the money is crazy

August 13, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

CANADIAN athlete Alexandra Ianculescu is using OnlyFans to help her fulfil her dream of competing at both the winter and summer Olympic Games.

The 31-year-old was in action at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

The 31-year-old represented her country at the winter Games in 2018[/caption]

A last minute call-up for the speed skating team, Ianculescu came last after not being able to properly prepare.

Having transitioned to , she is hoping to again represent her country in Paris next year.

After committing to amateur Dutch team NWVG-Uplus, Ianculescu hasn’t been able to find time for her previous personal training job.

But a new venture into OnlyFans has seen her able to focus on her Games dream.

She told the Daily Star: “I made an OnlyFans account in 2021… It’s helping me survive, pay my rent, pay for groceries, and it covers the cycling and the coffee bills.

“Someone suggested, ‘Why don’t you just have an OnlyFans account and create like a behind-the-scenes of what you do? And since you post bikini photos anyway, you can actually charge for that’.

“I was like, ‘seriously, people pay for that?’

“Like, I like my body. I want to post it anyway… So I said, ‘I’ll give myself one month and see how it goes’. And it was crazy!”

On what happened during her previous Games experience, Ianculescu explained: “You can’t sharpen your knife last minute. So I had to make the best of it.”

“I got off the ice, and I started crying.

“I knew that it wasn’t the best I could do.”

Last November, Ianculescu explained her OnlyFans decision in detail on Instagram, while confirming that she would be using it daily moving forward.

She wrote: “Last summer I decided to start this account since I kept getting crazy amounts of ‘likes’ on bikini photos and people would suggest selling them on this platform.

“I thought it was the biggest joke and didn’t want to be seen as someone that was known for selling ‘bikini shots’, considering I worked so hard as athlete, worked hard to have an education, speak multiple languages and truly love the image of myself that I created and respected.

“With that being said, after making 💰💰💰 in my first month on there, it has totally changed my life for the better.

“I make less now as I have not been as active this summer, but I enjoy training full time now, affording trips to places I never dreamed on going to anytime soon, buying my dream bikes, saving for my dream car(s), and being able to enjoy it in a way where I don’t have to sacrifice my athletic life to work 3 part time jobs like I used to in the past, while pursuing Olympic Dreams.

“I used to care what people thought, but then I realised that their opinions don’t pay my bills, so I am going to continue owning it and using it to the max because I like how comfortable I have become in my own body, and how I learned to love myself in a different way.

“So…tomorrow (Dec 1) is my “AMA” on my OF. I’m back using it daily”.
