Gary Neville was left fuming by Manchester United’s defending at Liverpool – and Jamie Carragher absolutely loved it.
The Red Devils made a bright start at Anfield but fell behind somewhat against the run of play through Cody Gakpo’s curling effort.
But the wheels came off Erik ten Hag’s men after the break as they shipped another SIX goals to suffer a 7-0 humiliation against their rivals.
United simply could not handle a red-hot start to the half by Liverpool when Darwin Nunez doubled the lead in the 47th minute.
A litany of errors at the back allowed Harvey Elliott to fire across David de Gea, where Nunez nodded home to score his seventh Premier League goal.
And just moments later, the Reds had another when Mohamed Salah darted through on goal from a counter-attack and bamboozled Lisandro Martinez to the extent that the World Cup fell to floor in a dizzy mess.
Salah then slipped in Gakpo, who raced towards De Gea before popping the ball over the Spaniard to make it 3-0 in the 52 minute of the match.
Sitting next to a gleaming Jamie Carragher, Neville was left furious on Sky Sports commentary.
He said: “This is a mess! Shaw’s initial pass isn’t good enough.
“They should all do better. From a defensive point of view, the two goals conceded are absolutely appalling.”
Salah would go on to grab a goal of his own after yet more shoddy defending – United conceding seconds after they had a corner.
The ball was sprayed out to Nunez, who despite a block from Scott McTominay, managed to squeeze it to Salah.
And whilst turning on the spot, the Egypt international lashed the ball past De Gea before he could even react to make it a cruising victory.
Astonishingly, there was more to come when Nunez grabbed is second of the match, glancing a Jordan Henderson cross past the Red Devils keeper to make it five.
Salah then got his second of the match before substitute Roberto Firmino slid in their seventh and seal a record-breaking win over the Red Devils.
And Carragher couldn’t resist poking fun at his Sky Sports colleague, tweeting this hilarious selfie during the match.
