Moment YouTube prankster Tanner Cook’s stunt goes badly wrong when shopper he is targeting pulls out a gun and shoots him in the chest | Daily Mail Online

February 6, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

This is the shocking moment a 21-year-old YouTuber prankster’s stunt went badly wrong when a delivery driver he was targeting pulled out a gun and shot him in the chest.

Video shows Tanner Cook, 21, who runs the Classified Goons YouTube channel, harassing Alan Colie as he picked up a food order at the Dulles Town Center mall in Sterling, Virginia, on April 2.

Cook can be seen following Colie around the mall while thrusting his phone in his face as it plays the bizarre phrase, ‘Hey dips**t, quit thinking about my twinkle’ multiple times using a Google Translate app.

Colie backs away from Cook and tells him to stop three times before trying to knock the phone away from his face as the YouTuber continues to advance towards him.

It was at this point that Colie’s stunt went badly wrong when the delivery driver pulled out a gun and shot the YouTuber in the lower left chest.

It was at this point that Colie’s stunt went badly wrong when the delivery driver pulled out a gun and shot the YouTuber in the lower left chest

Cook (pictured in hospital) was left fighting for his life following the shooting and spent several days in intensive care after the bullet pierced through his stomach and liver

The shooting sparked panic as shoppers fled what they feared to be a mass shooting as police officers pinned Colie to the ground and arrested him. He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging a firearm inside a building.

But last week, Colie, who has a license to carry a concealed weapon, was found not guilty of aggravated malicious wounding in the shooting after he said he was acting in self defense.

He was found guilty on a lesser charge of shooting into an occupied dwelling but a judge will hear arguments to set aside this conviction at a hearing next month after his lawyer appealed against it. If found guilty of this lesser firearms count, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

One of Colie’s defense attorneys Adam Pouilliard said that his client felt menaced by the 6 foot 4 inches tall Cook during the confrontation, which was designed to provoke a reaction and to draw viewers to his YouTube channel.

Pouilliard said Cook ‘is trying to confuse people to post videos. He’s not worried that he’s scaring people. He keeps doing this.’

Cook’s ‘Classified Goons’ channel, which has more than 50,000 subscribers, is known for his controversial stunts, like pretending to vomit on Uber drivers and following unsuspecting customers through department stores.

Cook was left fighting for his life following the shooting and spent several days in intensive care after the bullet pierced through his stomach and liver.

The YouTuber insisted during the trial that he had no inkling he had scared or angered Colie during the prank – despite the delivery driver telling him to stop three times before trying to knock the phone away from his face.

Cook testified last week that he tries to confuse the targets of his pranks for the amusement of his online audience. He said he doesn’t seek to elicit fear or anger, but acknowledged his targets often react that way.

Asked why didn’t stop the prank despite Colie’s repeated requests, Cook said he ‘almost did’ but not because he sensed fear or anger from Colie. He said Colie simply wasn’t exhibiting the type of reaction Cook was looking for.

‘There was no reaction,’ Cook said.

Prosecutor Eden Holmes had said during the trial that the facts of the case don’t support a self-defense argument, as Colie’s lawyer had argued.

The law requires that Colie reasonably fear that he was in imminent danger of bodily harm, and that he use no more force than is necessary. She said Cook’s prank was bizarre but not threatening.

Colie was pinned to the ground and arrested. He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharging firearm inside a building

Delivery driver Alan Colie, 31, (pictured) was acquitted in the shooting of a YouTube prankster who followed him around a Virginia mall with a camera close to his face to provoke a reaction

‘They were playing a silly phrase on a phone,’ the prosecutor said. ‘How could the defendant have found that he was reasonably in fear of imminent bodily harm?’

Colie testified in his own defense about the fear that Cook’s prank elicited.

Defense attorney Tabatha Blake said Colie didn’t have the benefit of knowing he was a prank victim when he was confronted with Cook’s confusing behavior.

She said the prosecution’s account of the incident ‘diminishes how unsettling they were to Mr. Alan Colie at the time they occurred.’

In the video, before the encounter with Colie, Cook and his friends can be heard workshopping the phrase they want to play on the phone. One of the friends urges that it be ‘short, weird and awkward.’

Pouilliard said during closing arguments that Colie is aware of the dangers that delivery drivers can face as they interact with the public and that he has a license to carry a concealed weapon.

Despite whatever events precipitated the shooting, Cook’s father, Jeramy Cook, said the incident was shocking and unnecessary.

‘They were making a video at the mall and trying to have fun with people and this guy wasn’t having fun,’ he said.

‘There was a phone that was around him and they were interviewing or talking to him, and he didn’t like it and he pulled out his gun and shot my son.’

Jeramy Cook emphasized that his family’s faith in God to get them through this trying time.

‘We need restoration, we need healing, and we need to come together.’

‘I pray for this young man and pray that he finds God in this. I believe that God saved our son’s life, and he could have easily died but that’s not the outcome. God has plans for my son,’ he said, noting that he bears no ill will toward Colie.

The jury was initially ‘divided in terms of whether the defendant acted in self defense’ but eventually delivered its verdicts at the end of the day. Collie was found not guilty of aggravated malicious wounding but was convicted on a lesser firearms count.

Cook, pictured in one of his prank videos harassing staff members at a mall, insisted the incident will not deter him from continuing to make videos and has posted three videos since

Cook’s ‘Classified Goons’ channel (pictured during a prank speaking to a staff member of a hardware store), which has more than 50,000 subscribers, is known for his controversial stunts, like pretending to vomit on Uber drivers and following unsuspecting customers through department stores

Colie’s defense attorney, Adam Pouilliard, said the conviction on the firearms charge is inconsistent with the law, given Colie’s acquittal on self defense grounds.

He asked the judge to set aside the conviction. A judge will hear arguments on the issue at a hearing next month.

Colie, who has been in custody since his April arrest, will remain incarcerated.

Cook’s ‘Classified Goons’ channel, which has more than 50,000 subscribers, is known for his controversial stunts, like pretending to vomit on Uber drivers and following unsuspecting customers through department stores.

He spoke from his hospital bed at the time of the incident and said he was just playing a joke on Colie.

‘I was playing a prank and a simple practical joke, and this guy didn’t take it very well,’ he told WUSA9.

Cook also insisted the incident will not deter him from continuing to make videos and has posted three videos since.

At a preliminary hearing, sheriff’s deputies testified that they were well aware of Cook and have received calls about previous stunts.

Cook acknowledged during cross-examination on Tuesday that mall security had tossed him out the day prior to the shooting as he tried to record pranks, and that he was trying to avoid security the day he targeted Colie.

Cook said he continues to make the videos, from which he earns $2,000 to $3,000 a month.

NTA viewers say Lee Mack will be ‘cancelled’ after shock joke about Jill Scott as he picks up award for The 1% Club

February 6, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

NTA viewers are fearing Lee Mack will be “cancelled” after he made a shock joke about Jill Scott in his acceptance speech.

Comedian Lee, 55, picked up the Quiz Game Show award for The 1% Club during the ceremony tonight.

But after taking to the stage to collect his latest trophy, he made a rather crude joke about the retired Lioness, 36, who had presented the category alongside Mo Gilligan, 35.

Brandishing the gong, Lee quipped: “To receive a sex toy like this off Jill Scott is an absolute pleasure.”

But some fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to claim the Woke brigade would come after him over the spicy acceptance speech.

One person wrote, “Well lee mack is gonna get cancelled now.”

A second chimed in with, “Not sure @LeeMack did himself any favours there. Still a big fan of 100% club.”

Someone else added: “Watching lee mack trying to be funny is just painful.”

However, some enjoyed the speech, with one penning, “Lee mack makes me cry with laughter oh my god.”

Another fan said, “Lee Mack proving what a proper comedian can do if you have a bit of talent.”

The 1% Club had been up against Michael McIntyre‘s The Wheel, The Chase Celebrity Special and Richard Osman‘s House Of Games.

It’s not the first time Lee’s come under fire over his jokes.

Earlier this year, he was slammed by a stuttering charity after he mimicked the speech impediment on Would I Lie To You?

Lee had mocked Rob Brydon when he stumbled on the word, ‘She,’ and compared him to Ronnie Barker’s character Arkwright from Open All Hours.

STAMMA subsequently told MailOnline in a statement: “It was disheartening to see Lee Mack and the Would I Lie to You crew mock stammering on Friday night’s show.

“Around 8% of kids and at least 1% of adults stammer. This is our voice, it’s how we talk. The thoughtless ridicule we saw on WILTY offers us a stark choice between being laughed at or being silent.

“We know it wasn’t meant to hurt or offend, but for many who stammer, it does.

“To all those adults and teens out there who stammer, and all those parents who have kids who stammer, know that there are many people who accept that stammering is simply the way some of us talk. Who make space and time for us in conversation and value our fabulous, stammered voices.”

Minge Lane’s bushes are being trimmed and people can’t contain their laughter – Mirror Online

February 5, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

The foliage on an unusually-named street is getting some well-needed trimming, and people can’t contain their laughter.

Worcestershire County Council announced the street’s spruce-up in a post on X, formally known as Twitter, earlier this week, letting residents know about the planned maintenance work.

Minge Lane in the Worcestershire town Upton-upon-Severn was named as one of the rudest street names in Britain. And now it’s getting a make-over, much to the amusement of locals.

The council wrote: “Tree maintenance works today at Minge Lane, Upton-upon-Severn” on their Worcs County Council Highways & Travel account. Although the council intended for the message to be innocent and factual, it wasn’t quite taken that way.

The comment section was quickly flooded with jokes and comments, as one Twitter user jibed: “I hope they don’t fanny around.” Another quick-witted commenter said: “Never mind the trees have you seen the state of the bush!” as well as one thinking the maintenance work was well overdue: “I’ve always thought it could use a trim.”

The UK has a range of funny and questionably rude road names – including Butthole Lane and Fannyfield. But one village’s name is so rude they have decided to take action in a bid to stop people from coming to steal its sign.

Shitterton, a hamlet in Dorset, often makes the list of rudest place names in the UK, and as such often have people travelling just to see what it’s like and take a picture of its sign. But in 2010, the hamlet’s residents grew so fed up with their sign being stolen that they put a stone version up instead.

The secret long dog hidden in Bluey episodes that drive adult fans crazy – ABC News

February 5, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

If you pause the telly at just the right moment and look in just the right spot, you’ll see one.

They’re called “long dogs”, and they’re the Bluey Easter eggs driving adults and kids crazy.

The phenomenon that is Bluey has captured the hearts and minds of adults and kids alike across the globe since its humble beginnings in 2018.

This month, the story of the inexhaustible six-year-old blue heeler dog turns five, meaning fans and addicts alike have had half-a-decade to Bluey-binge the seven-minute episodes.

Which is plenty of time to devour and analyse every aspect of the show, right?

Apparently not.

Secret’s out

The art of finding the hidden long dogs has recently taken social media by storm, much to the delight of the show’s lead background artist, Nick Rees.

“We love that Bluey fans love long dog as much as we do. It feels like a shared little nod once you find him,” Mr Rees says.

The first official appearance of a long dog came in episode five of the first season, Daddy Robot.

It was initially something just for the inner sanctum at Ludo Studios.

“All of the background artists took a shine to him, so we started adding him into other backgrounds for the crew to find and enjoy,” Mr Rees says.

“Originally, it was a bit of fun for the crew.

“It was always so funny to have animators come up to you and be like ‘I found long dog!’ while they were working on a scene.”

Super fans unite

Mary Bolling is a self-described Bluey “super fan” and co-host of the Bluey podcast “Gotta Be Done”.

She’s also a long dog aficionado.

“Once you see them you really can’t stop seeing them,” she says.

It may have taken a while, but adult Bluey fans are slowly becoming obsessed with finding these hidden motifs.

Various “adult fan” social media groups have been created to share the locations of the hidden long dogs.

“It took a while for people to start noticing, but if you’re immersed in the world around Bluey now, it’s hard to miss,” Ms Bolling says.

“Every Bluey book has a long dog cartoon,  and there’s a monthly Bluey magazine where can find the long dog. I think in one of the recent magazines, you could even make the long dog.

“So it’s not a secret anymore, but there are still a lot of people still discovering it.”

The official Bluey website and social media channels have released the locations of a select few hidden dogs.

However, hundreds remain waiting for eagle-eyed detectives.

And Mr Rees hinted that there were still a few hidden surprises within Bluey episodes that have yet to be spotted.

“Oh, there’s more than just long dogs hidden throughout the series,” he says.

“There’s a few that I’ve yet to see people spot.”

While some of the hidden long dogs can be hard to find without steady hands and a good freeze frame, Ms Bolling says there’s one sure-fire way of finding them.

Just give it a google on your social media platform of choice.

But really, where’s the fun in that?
