Rick and Morty Pays Tribute to DMX With Hilarious Throwback

January 11, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Rick and Morty pays tribute to DMX with a hilarious throwback! Rapper and actor DMX, real name Earl Simmons, passed away recently at the age of 50 and fans of his work have been celebrating his contributions to the pop culture world at large. Not only did he play a prominent role in films such as Cradle 2 The Grave alongside Jet Li (which is currently rising in HBO Max’s streaming charts), but he played a prominent part in many soundtracks due to his mega popular singles such as “X Gon’ Give It to Ya.”

One of the most memorable uses of “X Gon’ Give It to Ya” in a series was during Rick and Morty‘s first season. The ninth episode, “Something Ricked This Was Comes,” saw Rick and Summer buff themselves up in order to give the Devil a beat down. The post-credits scene to that episode saw them take their new strength out into the world and beat up unsavory individuals to DMX’s vocals. Adult Swim paid tribute to this iconic DMX scene with fans on Twitter in honor of the late superstar:

As for Rick and Morty, the series has been fairly active recently. Not only did it participate in Adult Swim’s April Fool’s Day joke with the release of “Rick and Morty Babies” that saw the animated series remade with children’s voices instead, but Adult Swim has recently confirmed the fifth season of the animated series is already on the way for a planned release some time this Summer.

After noting that the writing team was working on the sixth and seventh seasons of the series already, Rick and Morty finally confirmed that it will be returning to Adult Swim for the fifth season on June 20th. It’s currently unclear as to how many episodes this return will be running for (and whether or not this will be split into two halves of five episodes like the fourth season), but the first trailer for the new season teases some pretty big moments to come.

How did you feel when you saw this scene for the first time in Rick and Morty? Which DMX soundtrack moment do you remember best from movies and television? Are you excited for Rick and Morty‘s return for Season 5 this Summer? Hilarious Danish Ad Makes a Great Case for Why You Should Always Wear a Helmet

Hilarious Danish Ad Makes a Great Case for Why You Should Always Wear a Helmet

Stubborn Viking Refuses to Wear a Helmet in Danish Road Safety Council Ad

From helmet hair to looking uncool, there are a million silly reasons why you might not want to wear a helmet when you cycle, but there is one very important reason why you should—it could save your life. Danish Road Safety Council recently collaborated with Copenhagen-based creative ad company &Co to deliver this serious message in a hilarious way. The ad revisits Denmark’s Viking origins to tell the story of a stubborn commander named Svend. The funny character refuses to wear his combat helmet before he and his men ride off to conquer England, but he’s eventually convinced otherwise.

Titled Helmet has always been a good idea, the hilarious two-minute ad starts with Svend riling up the other Vikings for battle. Suddenly, his young son rushes out shouting “Wait!” while carrying a helmet. He offers the headpiece to his father, but the brute man snubs the offer, even after his second-in-command agrees it’s probably a good idea. He argues that a helmet makes his scalp itch and ruins his braids. “So what do I do when I get there? Run around England wearing a silly helmet?” he says irritably. “It’s annoying, it makes my scalp itch. I’m not the type who wears a helmet.”

It’s only when his wife, with a baby in her arms, comes to insist that he finally gives in and puts his helmet on. She says, “Svend, you can go looting and pillaging all you want, but you have to wear a helmet.” The funny scene ends with Svend leaving the scene on his horse and knocking his head on the way out.

Fiery Gov Candidate Picks Up on DeSantis’ Joke, Says He’ll Bus PA’s Illegals Into Biden’s Delaware

January 10, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

In his new budget proposal, Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis allocated millions of dollars to remove illegal aliens from his state. Now, another gubernatorial candidate wants to take a page out of the DeSantis book.

According to Breitbart, Pennsylvania governor candidate Lou Barletta said he is also tired of the federal government letting illegal immigrants into the country and then forcing the problem onto individual states.

“We’re not going to be accepting illegal aliens from the border,” said Barletta, a former Republican U.S. representative and former mayor of the east-central Pennsylvania city of Hazleton.

“They’re shutting down businesses, making you take a vaccine that you don’t want, putting masks on your kids all day long, and yet they’re letting people come in from the border and shipping them to Pennsylvania and other states with no idea with what their health conditions are. That all comes to an end” if he is elected.

The budget DeSantis is proposing in Florida — dubbed the “Freedom First Budget” — features various measures to deal with illegal immigration, including a still-undefined plan to relocate illegal aliens from within the Sunshine State.

“The Freedom First Budget includes $8 million to implement a program to assist the state’s efforts to protect against harms resulting from illegal immigration, and may include the transport of unauthorized aliens located within the state to other states within the United States of America, or the District of Columbia,” a summary of the proposal stated.

At a Jacksonville, Florida, news conference to introduce the budget, DeSantis announced Florida would not do business with contractors that are “knowingly and recklessly facilitating bringing people here into our state illegally.”

Other steps to combat illegal immigration would include the state taking a firmer line on Florida jurisdictions with “sanctuary city” policies to harbor illegal aliens, and beefing up the state’s e-verify enforcement, to make sure those hired in Florida have a right to work in the United States, DeSantis said.

He also said the proposed budget includes an allocation of $8 million “for us to be able to transport people [here] illegally out of the state of Florida.”

Is the illegal immigration crisis going to hurt Democrats in next year’s midterms?

“I said, it’s somewhat tongue in cheek, but it is true: If you sent [illegals] to Delaware or Martha’s Vineyard or some of these places, that border would be secure the next day,” DeSantis said.

In an interview with Breitbart on Saturday, Barletta said he would take similar action if he were elected governor in Pennsylvania.

“Gov. DeSantis is doing a great job in Florida … yes, I would take the same steps that Gov. DeSantis did,” he told Breitbart.

He pointed out that Delaware, where Biden frequently spends weekends away from the White House, shares a border with Pennsylvania.

“Pennsylvania is a lot closer to Delaware, so busing those folks to Delaware will cost us a lot less than it’s costing [DeSantis] to ship people from Florida…” he said, chuckling.

“[I]t’s not a long ride from Philadelphia to Wilmington. That’s exactly what we have to do.”

This plan may sound extreme — and, given the realities of federalism and the fact that a state government’s power ends at its own borders, it’s probably legally dubious. But it’s a sign of the desperation being raised by Biden’s border policies in interior states.

If bad PR and tanking approval ratings are not enough to wake him up, maybe the prospect — however unlikely — of governors shipping illegals to his home state might make the president realize the problem.

If Biden himself, or the state he calls home, were forced to experience the difficulties this influx of illegal immigration creates, he might just take action to solve the problem.

The growing disconnect between politicians and their constituents is a major problem in America. Elected officials are supposed to represent the people, not tower over them from their proverbial castles.

As Biden tries to force his immigration failures onto unsuspecting states, ideas like these from DeSantis and Barletta — however extreme — may be exactly what the country needs.
