Italy stars and Roberto Mancini joke about England after Euro 2020 final – Mirror Online

March 25, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Italy’s Euro 2020 winning heroes and their manager Roberto Mancini have poked fun at England in a new advert for the Italian Post Office.

The Azzurri defeated Gareth Southgate’s side on penalties in the final at Wembley in July and have made a cheeky dig at the losing side.

In the advert, Mancini answers the door to Juventus stars Leonardo Bonucci and Manuel Locatelli and Chelsea ace Jorginho, who all starred in the deciding game.

Jorginho offers the Italy boss a parcel and tells him it’s an Italian dessert called “Zuppa Inglese” – which translates into “English soup” – before laughing.

Italy have been basking in their glory ever since they narrowly defeated the Three Lions and ended cries of “It’s Coming Home” from England supporters.

The chant is synonymous among England fans and is always sung when the national team are performing well or on the cusp of success.

Bonucci, who was named Uefa’s Star of the Match for his performance in the final, famously shouted “It’s coming to Rome” down a camera immediately after Italy’s victory.

Speaking to The Athletic in September, the Juventus defender revealed how the confidence among England players and supporters motivated them to win at Wembley.

Bonucci said : “We didn’t pay much attention to it until the Spain game [semi-final], then the anger inside of us began to mount.

“We wanted to show them that the final hadn’t already been decided. That they hadn’t already won.

“Hearing that song on repeat and the comment from Declan Rice saying England were ten times more motivated to win than us… well, they’re the kind of mistakes young players make.

“You don’t say that. You should never say you want something more than somebody else or you’re better than somebody else.”

Discussing England fans, Bonucci added: “We got to the ground and there were a load of England fans hurling insults and abuse at us.

“It didn’t bother us one bit. The way we looked at it, it was a challenge and we thought, ‘Tonight we’re going to show you.’

Should Roberto Mancini and his players make jokes about beating England? Let us know in the comments below

“Before the game, I gave a speech to the team telling them that if we’ve made it this far, it’s down to the team spirit we’ve got, the willingness to sacrifice ourselves for each other and because we have never felt any pressure to prove anything to anyone.

“The opposite was true of England. The pressure was on their shoulders.

“All we had to think about was enjoying ourselves and playing our own game. As long as we did that the result would take care of itself just as it had done in the other games.”

‘Lucas just didn’t give a s***’: Video footage of Real Madrid sub Vazquez outrageously showboating during El Clasico leaves fans crying with laughter… because his team were 4-0 down at the time

Fans have mocked Real Madrid‘s Lucas Vazquez on social media after he was caught showboating when his side were being hammered 4-0 by Barcelona in El Clasico on Sunday.

Hilarious video footage shows Vazquez, who came on as a 63rd-minute substitute for Nacho at the Bernabeu, chest the ball before briefly juggling it with his back to goal near the halfway line.

The 30-year-old Spaniard then spins around – with the ball still in the air – before turning in the direction Real were attacking.

‘Y’all down 4-0? Not me bruh, 0-0 since I came on,’ added @GreatWhiteNueve, while @Dareogunmowo joked that ‘loss is temporary, skills are permanent’ followed by a laughing emoji.

‘This just showed none of our players took this game seriously,’ said @thecarloera.

Real had won the previous five Clasicos against arch-rivals Barcelona but were blown away by Xavi’s men in a statement victory for the Catalan club.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice on his debut in the famous clash, with Ronald Araujo and Ferran Torres also getting in on the act.

Real lead Sevilla by nine points in the race for the La Liga title, while Barca are third following the stunning win, which stretched their unbeaten run to 12 league matches.

Barcelona are 12 points behind Real but have played a game fewer than their great rivals.

Anderson Cooper’s son Wyatt turned one on Tuesday and the CNN on-air personality was overjoyed to celebrate the milestone.

The New York native took to Instagram to share two cute photos of his son: one where he was holding a red balloon and another where the child was in a light blue onesie while propped up on a beige chair.

‘Today is Wyatt’s first birthday. I can’t believe it has already been a year. He is sweet and funny, happy and kind, and i love him more than I ever thought possible,’ gushed the journalist.

Heart-melting! Anderson Cooper’s son Wyatt turned one on Tuesday and the CNN on-air personality was happy to celebrate the milestone. The New York native took to Instagram to share two cute photos of his son: one was of the child holding a red balloon

There were several comments from his celebrity friends.

Lisa Rinna of Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills said, ‘THAT FACE! HBD WYATT!!!!’ Tamra Judge of Real Housewives Of Orange County added, ‘Happy birthday Wyatt.’

Amy Sedaris shared: ‘That face!!! So cute.’ And actress Annabella Sciorra wrote: ‘Happy Birthday Wyatt!! ❤️❤️❤️.’

Cooper’s close friend Andy Cohen shared an image to Instagram where the two matched in red plaid shirts as he was holding Wyatt on his lap: ‘Happy 1st Birthday Wyatt Cooper! I love twinning with you. XO Uncle Andy & Mr. Ben.’

Kelly Ripa of Live With Kelly And Ryan posted an image with the child as she said, ‘Happy 1st birthday Wyatt! MeeMaw [hearts] Wyatt.’ She added eight red balloon emojis which matched his onesie

In April 2020 Cooper became a father for the first time.

Laid back boy: In another new image, Wyatt is seen in a light blue onesie from Emporio Armani

The presenter revealed his happy news on his CNN show Anderson Cooper 360 in late April 2020, telling viewers his son Wyatt Morgan Cooper had been born via a surrogate on April 27, 2020.

Showing off a series of photos of his son, he said: ‘It has been a difficult time in all of our lives, and there are certainly many hard days ahead. It is, I think, especially important in these times of trouble to try to hold on to moments of joy and moments of happiness. Even as we mourn the loss of loved ones, we are also blessed with new life and new love.

‘On Monday, I became a father. I’ve never actually said that before, out loud, and it still kind of astonishes me. I am a dad. I have a son. And I want you to meet him. He is sweet and soft and healthy, and I am beyond happy.’

Wyatt is named after Anderson’s father, who died during open-heart surgery when the news anchor was just 10 years old, while his middle name, Morgan, is a family name from his mother Gloria Vanderbilt, who died last year.

Anderson also shared photos of the new arrival on Instagram and wrote: ‘This is Wyatt Cooper. He is three days old. He is named after my father, who died when I was ten. I hope I can be as good a dad as he was. My son’s middle name is Morgan. It’s a family name on my mom’s side.

‘I know my mom and dad liked the name morgan because I recently found a list they made 52 years ago when they were trying to think of names for me. Wyatt Morgan Cooper. My son.

In April 2020 Cooper became a father for the first time. The presenter revealed his happy news on his CNN show Anderson Cooper 360

‘He was 7.2 lbs at birth, and he is sweet, and soft, and healthy and I am beyond happy.’

Anderson went on to thank his ‘remarkable’ surrogate and the medical team who helped fulfill his dream of fatherhood.

He continued: ‘As a gay kid, I never thought it would be possible to have a child, and I’m grateful for all those who have paved the way, and for the doctors and nurses and everyone involved in my son’s birth.

‘Most of all, I am grateful to a remarkable surrogate who carried Wyatt, and watched over him lovingly, and tenderly, and gave birth to him.

‘It is an extraordinary blessing – what she, and all surrogates give to families who cant have children.

‘My surrogate has a beautiful family of her own, a wonderfully supportive husband, and kids, and I am incredibly thankful for all the support they have given Wyatt and me. My family is blessed to have this family in our lives.’

Co-parent: Cooper’s ex-boyfriend Benjamin Maisani co-parents Wyatt. Anderson shared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert: ‘He’s my family, and I want him to be Wyatt’s family as well.’ Seen in 2015

The presenter expressed his regret that his parents and brother Carter – who took his own life in 1988 – are not around to meet his son but thinks they would all be very happy for him.

He wrote: ‘I do wish my mom and dad and my brother, Carter, were alive to meet Wyatt, but I like to believe they can see him.

‘I imagine them all together, arms around each other, smiling and laughing, happy to know that their love is alive in me and in Wyatt, and that our family continues.’

Benjamin was by Anderson’s side as their surrogate gave birth.

Last week Cooper said he receives hand-me-down clothes from Cohen for his son.

He revealed the Watch What Happens Live star regularly gives him the clothes that his son Ben has outgrown but Anderson admits Wyatt’s style is a lot different from Ben’s.

Speaking on Live! With Kelly and Ryan, Anderson said: ‘He gets Ben-me-downs as Andy calls them … A lot of the clothes that Andy gets [have] a lot of razzmatazz in them. It’s a lot of tie-dye Grateful Dead stuff, which I don’t know if that’s his vibe at this point, but it doesn’t go with the boys … I see him more as a little Amish child. I would like to dress [him] just simply.’

SA veteran star Wenda Nel leaves Tokyo with a smile: ‘I gave it my all’ | Sport

March 24, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

South African hurdle Wenda Nel says she gave her all in her final Olympic Games as she missed out on the final of the women’s 400m hurdles on Monday.

Nel finished in seventh place in the third semi-final of the women’s one-lap hurdles event in a time of 56.35.

America’s Sydney McLaughlin won the semi-final as she stopped the clock in 53.03, as Panama’s Gianna Woodruff finished second in 54.22 – with the top two qualifying for the final.

Nel, who ran in lane 8, couldn’t catch up with the star-studded semi-final field and had to race in difficult conditions as the rain poured down at Olympic Stadium.

The 33-year-old admitted that she was surprised by the rain but insists that it didn’t stop her from giving her best.

“It was quite a surprise, wasn’t sure where the rain came from but it’s not like I haven’t run in the rain before. I went into this one saying, ‘I have nothing to lose’,” Nel told reporters.

“I gave it my all and tried to see what I had left in me. The standard of the 400m hurdles has shifted two, three steps up.

“To be on the standard as these girls in these Games is crazy. I gave myself a chance and I knew it would’ve been tough to get into the final. I do believe in miracles and in this sport, you’re not going to drop two seconds in a day.”

Nel acknowledges that while it hasn’t been the best preparation leading up to this year’s rescheduled Games, she is grateful for the opportunity.

“I’m quite a positive person so I definitely gave myself a chance although I knew my preparation wasn’t a hundred percent as I would’ve wanted it to be,” said Nel.

“It’s been a challenging year and a half with Covid and I had some injuries in 2019, so I was just extremely grateful to compete and qualify for the Games. Being able to be in the blocks at this year’s Games has been a true blessing.

“My experience at these Games has been unbelievable. The difference between this and Rio was that I was more calm and I had freedom, I took more in and I didn’t put too much pressure on myself,” she said.

“Obviously, I’m disappointed in the result, you always wish to go home with a better time but these last few months have been challenging.”

Nel confirmed that this will be her final Olympics but hopes to take this experience and help develop the future talent of South Africa.

“I had fun and enjoyed myself, gained experience for the next Championships. I will take it with me in my journey and share my experience with the youth and I really had fun,” said Nel.

“I’m going home with a smile on my face and knowing that I’ve been at another Olympics and I’m just honoured to represent South Africa.

“After tonight, I will not say the book is closed but I am moving towards retirement. We’ll see in the next few months, where the road will take me but maybe not another Olympic Games but maybe another World Championships.”
