SADIO MANE broke the hearts of Mo Salah and Egypt again to send Senegal to the World Cup.
Just as in the African Cup of Nations final, Mane scored the decisive spot-kick in a penalty shootout.

Liverpool team-mate Salah at least had the chance to take one this time.
But the Egyptian King was brought down to earth, firing his side’s first penalty over the bar.
Zizo and Mostafa Mohamed also failed to convert, leaving Mane with the chance to seal qualification for Qatar.
He made no mistake and Senegal were well worth their win, after missing a host of chances to settle the tie before the spot-kicks.
The home side were in the driving seat in Dakar from the start. Just as in the first leg, a goal arrived in the fourth minute.
In Cairo, Saliou Ciss had been unfortunate to concede an own goal. But he made up for it by winning the free kick that led to Dia’s opener.
The Egyptian defence failed completely to deal with Idrissa Gueye’s delivery and Dia pounced on the loose ball to score from close range.
The red-hot atmosphere went up a notch. Head coaches Aliou Cisse and Carlos Queiroz were soon losing their cool and had to be pulled apart on the touchline.

WISHING ON A SARR
Newcastle want Sarr with Watford also braced to lose Dennis
Senegal were much the better team for the rest of the half but were unable to create another clear-cut opportunity.
Gueye forced Egyptian goalkeeper Mohammed El Shenawy into a save with a shot from 30 yards and Leicester’s Nampalys Mendy sent another effort from distance just wide.
Egypt were poor. They had players taken off the field on stretchers more often than they posed a threat to the Edouard Mendy’s goal.
Losing two of their back four to injury inside 35 minutes did not help. But they struggled to keep the ball, Salah barely had a kick and they were poor.
Tempers flared again early in the second half, with incidents at both ends including a penalty claim by Dia.
The tension kept on growing, as did the foul count. Mane and Watford’s Ismaila Sarr remained the men most likely to find an opening, but Gueye sent the best chance over the bar from another free kick.
Queiroz made a triple substitution and one of the replacements had a great chance to equalise within a minute. But Zizo headed Salah’s superb cross wide.
The game had changed, though, Zizo created another opportunity for himself. Again he could not put his effort on target.
But Senegal had the best chance to seal qualification in normal time. With just over eight minutes to go, Mane played in Sarr one-on-one but he sent his shot wide of the far post.

The Watford mancreated a stoppage-time chance for centre back Pape Abou Cisse, who headed wide.
But in an exciting start to extra-time, Cisse forced El Shenaway into a good save with another header.
Then Sarr somehow failed to make it 2-0 again. Mane skinned the Egyptian defence and his cross reached the back post.
The goal was gaping but Sarr tried to hit it back across El Shenawy, who made another good save.
The Egyptian goalkeeper made a double stop from that man Cisse before half time.
Senegal sub Pape Gueye fired wide early in the second period but that was it for chances and so to penalties again.
Kalidou Koulibaly hit the crossbar with the first. Salah cleared it with the second.
El Shenawy saved Ciss’ effort, only for Zizo to skip, jump and shoot wide.
Sarr scored – at last – then Amr Al-Sulaya made it 1-1. Bamba Dieng put Senegal back in front.
And then Chelsea ‘keeper Mendy, taken off before penalties in the Carabao Cup Final against Liverpool, saved Mohamed’s poor attempt.
Up stepped Mane, and on went Senegal to Qatar.
