Don’t turn here for Squid Game! Police joke that roadworks diversion sign looks like directions to join Netflix TV hit
Police were forced to reassure drivers a new M4 sign will not lead to the Squid Games, because it features a square, circle and triangle.
Thames Valley Police have had to deny the uncanny diversion directs people to the Netflix show.
Motorists spotted the mysterious yellow signage on the M4, Junction 5 in Slough, Berkshire.
The same three shapes (square, circle and triangle) are used by those who run the brutal games on the Netflix show on their masks and business cards.
Squid Game is one of the most popular shows on TV, despite violent scenes where cash-strapped contestants are lured into playing life or death challenges to win money.
However, on UK roads the shapes – square, triangle, circle and diamond – are commonly used to direct HGVs.

Responding to the confusion Thames Valley Police tweeted: ‘Evening all,
‘So, we can confirm that by following this signage from the M4 Junction 5 in Slough will not lead you to the popular Netflix series Squid Game.
‘It’s just directions for diversion routes during the roadworks*phew.’
Despite the clarification, a perplexed Louise Smee replied: ‘But what do those shapes tell us?’
Another – called Melissa – similarly added: ‘So what do the shapes mean?’
Michael Strubel said: ‘What a relief,’ whilst Jamie Hall applauded the cops, saying: ‘Brilliant tweet.’
South Korean survival drama Squid Game has had over 100million viewers worldwide since it launched a month ago.
