Twitter Users Blast Tim Allen After He Makes a Joke About Biden’s ’60 Minutes’ Interview

October 21, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Some Twitter users did not appreciate comedian Tim Allen’s joke about President Joe Biden’s “60 Minutes” interview.

Earlier this week, Allen tweeted, “Biden was on 60 minutes. I heard he asked how long the show was.”

The tweet was shared by several Twitter users.

One replied, “You’ve really fallen off, bro. Go back to monkey noises. You nailed that.”

Allen previously opened up about his political views during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel.

He told the late night host he likes to skirt “both sides” of politics, as Entertainment Weekly reported.

“You’ve gotta be real careful around here,” Allen said.

He added, “You get beat up if don’t believe what everybody believes.”

The actor suggested this “is like ’30s Germany. I don’t know what happened. If you’re not part of the group, ‘you know what we believe is right,’ I go, ‘Well, I might have a problem with that.’”

Additionally, he recalled his experience attending the inauguration of former President Donald Trump.

“This government does stuff big,” Allen explained.

He continued, “I’ve never been to anything like that. Just so many people, and when they show up, you know, the ex-president gets in a helicopter and there’s jets and marines taking him this way and there’s parades, but it looks like a Cadillac parade, everything was just rows of Cadillacs. My kids were going, ‘Is this the parade?’ It’s like black Cadillac after black Cadillac and then a tractor.”

A ‘Jewish Space Laser’ Sounds Funny. But Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Antisemitism Is No Laughing Matter. – Kveller

October 20, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

I’ve been watching the disturbing rise of conspiracy theorist and Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene with horror. Just yesterday, another baseless theory of hers was unearthed — about Jewish space lasers starting the California wildfires. (Did I ever think I’d be writing these words, about a congressperson, no less? No, dear reader, I did not. )

Here’s the story: On Thursday, a 2018 Facebook post written by Greene, who represents Georgia’s 14th district, was unveiled. In it, the future congresswoman blamed California’s wildfires on the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, in conjunction with the Rothschilds — the Jewish family that’s been prominently featured in antisemitic conspiracy theories for about two centuries. Apparently, according to the congresswoman, “Rothschild Inc” started the fires using a space laser, and their goal was to clear the way for a high-speed rail project.

You can read the entire, truly bonkers tirade on Media Matters. But also: if you value your brain in its current, unexploded state, maybe don’t.

Since the news broke, Jewish Twitter had a field day — because, of course! Making jokes out of virulent antisemitism has been our shtick for time immemorial. Humor, after all, is a classic Jewish coping mechanism. And this particular theory, well, it seems perfectly tailored for so many Jewish jokes. I mean, it’s like Mel Brooks’ “Jews in Space” segment from History of the World: Part I has just been lying around for four decades, just waiting for this moment!

Also, it provided a great opportunity for some Lazar Wolf/Fiddler on the Roof references:

is this the space laser u guys have been talking about pic.twitter.com/baqSavugqp

The story also elicited a slew of Jewish mom jokes that were truly excellent. After all, if we had space lasers, would Jewish moms be unable to not spill the beans about the amazing project their daughters were working on? Or would Jewish moms’  paranoia about lasers (and all things potentially lethal) lead them to push their kids away from such intergalactic endeavors?

Twitter couldn’t decide:

This Jewish space laser thing makes no sense to me. Because, as every Jewish mother knows, you could put an eye out with that.

— Ruth Marcus (@RuthMarcus) January 29, 2021

pretty hilarious that marjorie taylor greene thinks any jewish mother would ever allow her child to go to space

— Jess (@jesstweetss) January 29, 2021

However imagine the Jewish mother whose son made said moon laser. Mine would be foaming at the mouth trying to tell her friends. https://t.co/7wCv8j7Fjq

Ok but for real anyone who thinks Jews are keeping a space laser a secret… have you met a Jewish mother? No one would ever hear the end of “did you know about my daughter’s space laser? We’re very proud!”

— Gabby Tropp (@getropp) January 29, 2021

My Jewish mom was concerned the DVD player would blind us all when she found out it had a laser. So…#JewishSpaceLasers

— Citizens For Progress 🇺🇸 (@Citizn4Progress) January 29, 2021

I think the most absurd part of this absurd thing is that no Jewish mother would give up the opportunity to tell everyone that her son is working on the space laser pic.twitter.com/CCEHnPXKUm

— Grace “Short Squeeze” Kelley (@GraceFacesPlace) January 29, 2021

So yes, the space laser jokes were good. (Also, as a Jew with an irrational fear of lasers — seriously, I would cover my eyes every time someone played with one of those laser pointers we all had for a while — I find them very relatable.)

This is something that I love about the Jewish people: We can “own” even the most virulent (and frankly, purely unhinged) antisemitism and make it into something delightful. But this isn’t just about having a good, cathartic laugh in the face of horror — although I do believe that’s a worthwhile endeavor. More than anything, these types of jokes are about putting a mirror to antisemites’ faces and demonstrating to them how laughable and hateful we think they are.

Yet, there is no denying that Greene’s words are very, very not funny. More than that: they are incredibly upsetting. Not just because these despicable beliefs are rampant across our nation — they have have now been elevated to one of the highest offices of the land.

As I said before, I’ve been upset about Greene’s politics for a while now. So when I heard of the latest unveiled conspiracy theory, I felt sad and scared — but not for a moment was I surprised.

You see, this 100 percent tracks with Greene’s many terrible beliefs that we already knew about; she’s a known supporter of many antisemitic and Islamophobic conspiracy theories. A recently resurfaced video shows her attacking Parkland survivor David Hogg and claiming that he is getting paid by George Soros — yet another popular modern antisemitic canard. Greene believes that the Parkland, Newton, and Las Vegas shootings were staged. She also believes that 9/11 was an inside job, and that “former secretary of state Hillary Clinton murdered a child during a satanic ritual and drank her blood.” She is a supporter of QAnon — another trove of antisemitic conspiracy theories. Basically, she’s a callous bigot who hounds shooting survivors, and  I haven’t even made it to the part where she helped incite the deadly riots in the Capitol on January 6.

Is Greene a fluke? Or is she a harbinger of a new reality? Will the GOP rein her in, as Nancy Pelosi urged them to? Why are there so many tweets about her — and funny tweets, at that — and yet so few of her colleagues are calling her out for her dangerous ideas?

The fact is, antisemitism is on the rise in this country, and a lot of it is fueled by baseless theories like the ones Greene espouses. It’s a jarring dissonance that the state that elected its first Black and its first Jewish (Democratic) senators also gave us this, a reflection of the most dangerous forces in our country. Are Greene’s disturbing theories worthy of our mockery? Oh, yes. Yes, they are. But we should also not forget how heartbreaking and dangerous they are; the ideas that she peddles have been used to persecute us and other minorities for centuries.

As we laugh, we shouldn’t lose sight of what’s really at stake here.

LeBron James Goes Crazy After Sealing Win For Lakers: “I’m A Mother F**king Problem, B*tch!”

October 20, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

View the original article to see embedded media.

This season marks LeBron James’ 19th year in the NBA, a truly incredible feat that sets him apart from most other superstars.

Most impressively, however, is that he’s playing like he’s 10 years younger.

On Tuesday night, James produced another signature performance, scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in L.A.’s 5-point win over Sacramento.

The highlight moment came late into the match when James dropped an impressive bucket and followed it with a ramped-up proclamation.

In what has been a string of dominant games from The King, it’s no surprise he got a little excited after dealing a victory for his squad.

On Twitter, NBA fans showered him with praise, hailing him as the best player in the world.

There is no getting around how remarkable it is that Bron is still this elite in year 19 and his longevity is something we’ve really never seen before

In fact, earlier this month he became the oldest player to average over 25 points per game while also still holding the record for being the youngest.

No doubt, Bron’s pursuit of the GOAT title is among the many things driving him this season.

“LeBron James is still chasing to be on top, and he wanna stack up his resume. His resume is already long, but he wants to continue to grow so that he can shut up those Jordan fans out there,” said Kendrick Perkins.

“When you look at LeBron James, and people thought that he went to Los Angeles to go film movies and do all these things with Space Jam. But, this guy wants to win. He wants to be on top. He don’t even want it to be a debate, he don’t even want it to be an argument. He want it to be known that, ‘hey, I am him.’ At the end of the day, people may say he’s 37 years old but if you watch how he’s playing right now Man, he’s playing like, ‘Nah, I’m not gonna use that as an excuse.'”

Despite LeBron’s play, the Lakers have been pretty subpar overall, just barely sitting above .500 almost halfway through the season. It remains to be seen if they can turn things around.

Regardless, it’s not a good idea to count them out completely. LeBron James has shown plenty of times before why that’s a bad idea.

Now, more than ever, James seems ready to prove everyone wrong.

Ramai puas hati, pengunjung terajang lelaki buat ‘prank’ amuk di kedai makan

October 20, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Replying to @gemini_8405 maaf lambat respond,tngah krja #streetopizzakulim #streetopizza #izuanrazali #kesgaduh

Hormat orang lain tu penting

First look at Lea Michele as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl | EW.com

October 19, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Hey, Mr. Ziegfeld, here she is…

Forget guys in ruffled shirts, we’ve got something even more exciting — our first glimpse at Lea Michele as Funny Girl’s new Fanny Brice. We here at EW are the “luckiest people in the world” to share an exclusive first look at the former Glee star in costume as Brice, as well as a sneak peek at the new artwork for the show.

“I was speaking with Harvey Fierstein, whom I adore about my first performance on Tuesday,” Michele said in an exclusive statement to EW. “He asked how I was feeling about this big night coming up. I told him I’m feeling ‘over the moon and so nervous at the exact same time.’ He told me ‘that’s called being alive and to live in that feeling.’ It was the perfect advice.”

“This is such a dream come true for me,” she added, “And I cannot wait to take the stage on Tuesday as Fanny Brice on Broadway.”

Michele is glamorous as Brice in one of the character’s signature hat and coat ensembles, sporting a brunette wig in the style of the era. The new artwork riffs on the current design for the show, replacing the big yellow bow on Brice’s head with a yellow floral hat.

The production previously shared a first look at Michele in rehearsal for the role, dancing and working with her costars.

Her run as Fanny Brice begins Sept. 6 at the August Wilson Theater, and Michele is currently slated to stay with the show through 2023 (standby Julie Benko, who took over as Brice for the month of August, will continue to star in the show on Thursday evenings).

The revival marks Funny Girl’s first return to Broadway since its original debut in 1964, which famously starred Barbra Streisand in the lead role. The musical follows Fanny, from her early days dreaming of making it as a performer to her success as a member of Florenz Ziegfeld’s company — all while tracking her complicated romance with gambler Nick Arnstein (Ramin Karimloo).

Michele takes over the role following Beanie Feldstein and Benko, and she’ll be joined by Tovah Feldshuh (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as Fanny’s mother, Rose, replacing Michele’s Glee costarJane Lynch. This production also reunites Michele with her Spring Awakening director, Michael Mayer, who, alongside new book writer Harvey Fierstein, helped shepherd the revival to Broadway. Fittingly, Mayer first introduced Michele to Funny Girl, via the film adaptation, while working with her on Spring Awakening.

In some ways, it feels as if Michele has been preparing for the role of Brice for most of her life. The Broadway star impressed time and again delivering songs from Funny Girl while starring on Glee.

Her character, Rachel Berry, was famously obsessed with Barbra Streisand and the legend’s take on Brice, singing “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” “Who Are You Now,” “My Man,” and “People” during her time on Glee.

Michele became nearly as synonymous as Streisand with “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” singing it on the Glee live tour and even the Tony Awards. Indeed, in the final season of Glee, in a moment that is now life imitating art (or vice versa), Michele’s Rachel landed her dream role as Fanny Brice in a Broadway revival of Funny Girl.

For a time, it seemed Glee creator Ryan Murphy might make that a reality, acquiring the rights to the production with Michele presumed to be his top choice to star. Still, Michele felt mixed emotions at the prospect then. “I didn’t feel like there was anything new that I could bring,” she recently told the New York Times, referring to how much she had already plumbed the show’s score on television.

Now, she told the Times, “I feel more ready than I ever have before, both personally and professionally.”

It’s not quite the proclamation that she’s the “greatest star,” but beginning Sept. 6, the world will at last see Michele play Brice on a Broadway stage — with all her attendant ginger and jazz.
