Robin Williams’ son Zak shares funny post on what would have been his father’s 71st birthday | Daily Mail Online

October 28, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Robin Williams’ son Zak shared a funny tribute to his father on Thursday, which would have been the actor’s 71st birthday.

The Good Will Hunting actor passed away in 2014 at age 63, by suicide at his home in Paradise Cay, California. His autopsy revealed undiagnosed Lewy body disease.

‘Happy 71st Birthday Dad! I’ll be remembering you today as you would want to be remembered, in spandex. Miss you and love you always!’ wrote his son on Instagram as he posted a photo of the comedian on a bicycle.

For dad: Robin Williams’ son Zak shared a funny tribute to his father on Thursday, which would have been the actor’s 71st birthday. Seen in 2012

Williams was an avid bicyclist who used to ride often on the winding paths by his home in Marin County, California.

Last year Zak said his dad was ‘frustrated’ with his health struggles before he ultimately took his life.

The legendary comedian had unknowingly been misdiagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and was actually suffering from Lewy body dementia – the second most common type of progressive dementia after Alzheimer’s – his family found out after his death.

Hilarious: ‘Happy 71st Birthday Dad! I’ll be remembering you today as you would want to be remembered, in spandex. Miss you and love you always!’ wrote his son on Instagram as he posted a photo of the comedian on a bicycle

‘What I saw was frustration,’ Zak, 39, told host Max Lugavere on his podcast The Genius Life.

‘What he was going through didn’t match one to one [with what] many Parkinson’s patients experience. So, I think that was hard for him.’

Zak, who is a mental health advocate, continued: ‘There was a focus issue that frustrated him, there were issues associated with how he felt and also from a neurological perspective he didn’t feel great,’ and added: ‘He was very uncomfortable.’

Williams’ son also questioned the medication that his father was put on, suggesting they may have made his overall health worse.

‘Those drugs are no joke,’ he explained. ‘They’re also really hard on the mind and the body.

‘I couldn’t help but feel beyond empathy. I couldn’t help but feel frustrated for him,’ Zak continued. ‘It can be really isolating even when you’re with family and loved ones.’

Tragedy: Williams was ‘frustrated’ with his health struggles before he ultimately took his life in 2014, his son has revealed (Pictured, 2007)

Lewy body dementia causes a progressive decline in mental abilities, and those affected might have visual hallucinations and changes in alertness and attention.

Zak also shared his experience with dealing the loss of his father, and how it impacted his mental health.

‘I was heavily drinking to manage my mental health where it created very harmful issues. For me personally, I was having health issues. I was experiencing some psychosis and when I spoke with a psychiatrist I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder,’ he said.

Adding: ‘I was self-medicating through the trauma using alcohol.’

Zak, who is a father of two, went on to seek help in a 12-step program as well as group therapy, which helped him.

WHAT IS LEWY BODY DEMENTIA?

Lewy body dementia (LBD) is the second most common form of degenerative dementia after Alzheimer’s.

It is the form Robin Williams was diagnosed with before he took his own life in 2014.

Unlike Alzheimer’s, LBD affects the brain regions responsible for vision – as opposed to memory.

That means sufferers may start with memory loss, but over time the more debilitating symptoms will be powerful hallucinations, nightmares and spatial-awareness problems.

LBD is closely connected to Parkinson’s disease, meaning that many sufferers will develop Parkinson’s as well – as happened to Robin Williams.

SYMPTOMS:

The most common symptoms include:

HOW IT STARTS:

Many sufferers will first develop Parkinson’s, suffering physical disabilities, before doctors diagnose their dementia. That is what happened to the late revered actor Robin Williams.

Some will start with memory loss that could be mistaken for the more common Alzheimer’s disease. Over time, they will develop symptoms more clearly associated with LBD.

WHAT CAUSES IT:

There is no known cause. What we do know is that risk increases with age.

At a cellular level, LBD is characterized by tiny clumps of abnormal proteins produced by the brain when its cells are not working properly.

They cause memory problems, although these don’t tend to be as severe as with Alzheimer’s — which is linked to a build-up of the protein beta-amyloid.

Another key difference is that Lewy body dementia affects regions of the brain responsible for vision, causing powerful hallucinations, nightmares and spatial-awareness problems.

Try not to laugh: Twitter has questions about John Fetterman’s neck – twitchy.com

October 28, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

It’s been a bumpy ride on Twitter lately, and we think you all deserve to have a good laugh.

You know, one of those laughs that make your eyes bulge out, even if it is quasi-childish humor.

First time Fetterman’s neck is fully exposed without a hoodie and folks have questions pic.twitter.com/U2ZDmFMubc

— Deb Formola (@debbieformola) September 11, 2022

Oh boy. This is teed up for the kind of ‘I really shouldn’t’ humor Twitter was made for.

As we reported previously, Fetterman recently became inflamed when his opponent, Dr. Oz, brought up his stroke. To be clear, there is no indication Fetterman’s irregular nape shape has anything to do with his recent health struggles. Obviously, we wish him a speedy recovery. With that said, queue up the jokes.

We hope you weren’t drinking. LOL.

That’s knot right!

He should have Dr. Oz look at that thing on his neck.

The laughter is starting to swell.

HAHAHA! If you know, you know.

— CountryOfTheBlind 1776 🌵 (@CountryOTBlind) September 12, 2022

Stop it! We’re about to burst!

Sorry to lump you all together, but you’re wrong for laughing at these!

Cohaagen was so driven by his fear that Kuato was staging a revolution on Mars that he never suspected he might be hiding in John Fetterman’s neck all along. pic.twitter.com/yyteeKVEto

— Jeff B. is *BOX OFFICE POISON* (@EsotericCD) September 12, 2022

Ok, that’s too much! Cease and decyst!

Fetterman never skips neck day https://t.co/cQtv1RIgJB

— Breaking News Jack. (@jackmeridan) September 12, 2022

We are now deceased.

Say what you want about John Fetterman but at least he’s willing to stick his neck out

— jimtreacher.substack.com (@jtLOL) September 12, 2022

Congratulations, we’re all horrible people. lol. We should all work on some personal growth.

The hilarious moment Pep Guardiola realised Mo Salah was about to score – Liverpool FC – This Is Anfield

October 27, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

For Liverpool fans, it was a heart-in-mouth moment, but Pep Guardiola knew Mohamed Salah was about to score against Man City before it happened.

Salah had already raced through once in his new role as central striker, only to be denied by a brilliant Ederson save, when the chance presented itself again.

With Kevin De Bruyne sending a hopeless free-kick into the penalty area 75 minutes into Liverpool’s clash with Man City, Alisson leapt to catch it and immediately looked up.

A stunning pass saw Salah – who had been on the move before Alisson had even caught the ball – through in a battle with Joao Cancelo, turning the hapless full-back and into another one-on-one situation.

Unlike earlier in the tie, it was a composed finish from the No. 11, which was enough to secure three points for the Reds.

Those watching on from the stands, on their sofas and in the pubs, time stood still as Salah bore down on goal, with the finish allowing for a monumental sigh of relief before the celebrations began.

Who could doubt the Egyptian King, though? Clearly not Pep Guardiola!

In footage of the match-winning strike, with all angles shared by Liverpool after the game, the Man City manager can be seen slumping to his knees as soon as Salah broke loose from Cancelo.

Guardiola could only watch on helpless as the 30-year-old sent the ball home, his side undone by a straightforward counter-attack from goalkeeper to striker.

It was a route to goal analysts across the Premier League should have been aware of, with this latest effort very similar to the one Salah scored against Man United in 2020.

Alisson is now fourth in the Premier League‘s all-time charts for goalkeeper assists, with three, behind only Paul Robinson (five), Pepe Reina and David Seaman (four).

For goals and assists, only Robinson (six) sits above Liverpool’s No. 1 (four).
