Mykhailo Mudryk told he ‘should have joined Arsenal’ in hilarious video of the winger as fans mock the £88m man for his decision to sign for Chelsea | Daily Mail Online

August 29, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Mykhailo Mudryk was taunted by fans for his decision to join Chelsea over London rivals Arsenal in January.

The 22-year-old was whisked away to Stamford Bridge for a £88m by world football’s biggest spenders, after weeks of discussions with the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s side grabbed Leandro Trossard in their dip back into the transfer bag, while Chelsea – who thought they had recruited a readymade star – were left regretting their purchase.

Indeed, in the view of a few Gunners fans Mudryk will also be ruing the commitment, having won just three league games since arriving in the Premier League.

While Arsenal ready themselves for a return to Champions League football and look best placed to challenge Manchester City’s superiority this term.

Mykhailo Mudryk has struggled to find his feet at Chelsea since his massive transfer in January

Mauricio Pochettino has had a frustrating return to the Premier League and remains winless

Mudryk scored three goals in six Champions League games for Shakhtar Donetsk last season

In a video posted on TikTok, the pair can be seen mocking the 22-year-old, who appears to be stuck in some rather unfortunate London traffic.

‘Arsenal bro, Mudryk Arsenal,’ one fan said. ‘Your dream team. Come on, if you had played you would have won the Premier League.’

To his credit the winger took the jibes in good spirit and even gave an acknowledging head nod when one in the group predicted he’ll be the ‘best player in the world.’

If that is to be the case, Sunday’s cameo provided no indication. The Ukrainian international is coming off yet another defeat as a Blues player following the disappointing 3-1 defeat to West Ham.

Mudryk’s display featured all the aspects Chelsea fans have come to loathe about the big money signing. Poor decisions and missed chances.

The youngster is still awaiting his first goal for the club after lighting up both the Ukrainian top-flight and, more impressively, the Champions League during the first half of last season.

New boss Mauricio Pochettino will hope to unlock the talent that had European heavyweights fighting it out for his signature.

DEE SNIDER Blasts Bands Who Wait Too Long To Retire: ‘I See People Singing ‘Crazy Nights’ And They’re Not So Crazy Anymore’ – BLABBERMOUTH.NET

August 28, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider visited Rock City Music Company in Livonia, Michigan on July 19 to participate in a very special in-store event to celebrate the release of his novel “Frats”. Dee was involved in a moderated question-and-answer session hosted by Detroit radio legend Doug Podell of 106.7 WLLZ. The Q&A featured insights into why Dee wrote “Frats”, opinions on bands who stick around past their due date, his reasons for going head-to-head with Congress in 1985 and the future of his recording and performance career.

Speaking about TWISTED SISTER‘s decision to retire from touring in 2016, Dee said in part (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I didn’t lose the passion for the music. I didn’t lose that at all. My last two [solo] albums, ‘Leave A Scar’ and ‘For The Love Of Metal’, were stronger and sort of Dee resurging. I lost the willingness to get old on stage. I don’t want you guys to watch me age out.

“I read a review once that said — and it was actually a positive review about the TWISTED reunion, which was ages ago now — but it said, ‘When a band reunites and they’re good, it makes you feel young again. But when they’re bad, it makes you realize how old you have gotten,'” he continued. “And people were coming to see TWISTED and coming to see me and people were smiling. But I know… Look, I’m not a bitcher and moaner, but I’ve had knee surgery, shoulder surgery, throat surgery, neck surgery… I can’t lift my arms up. It hurts when I throw the horns. Fuck! It’s not supposed to hurt… So I’d rather walk off with some dignity and leave you guys with a positive memory, saying, ‘We wanted more,’ than to overstay your welcome and say, ‘Gee, when is this guy gonna get off the fucking stage, man?’

“I see people singing ‘Crazy Nights’ and they’re not so crazy anymore,” Snider added. “I’m not gonna name names. I always bitch about people who retire, sell us the ‘No More Tours’ shirt — Ozzy — and then come back a few years later, ‘We love you, we love you.’ That’s bullshit. And people say, ‘Well, that’s fucked up.’ No — stay forever, man. Stay forever. We don’t want you to leave. Just don’t do a three-year farewell tour — SCORPIONS — and then say you changed your mind. ‘Cause you haven’t played every place? No, you’ve played every place — twice.

“BLUE ÖYSTER CULT have ‘On Tour Forever’ jackets. Forever. God bless ’em. You do it,” Dee said. “I’m not gonna be on tour forever. I’m gonna walk off into the sunset, waving and smiling.”

Dee previously talked about bands who reunite after completing farewell tours in a 2020 interview with Ultimate Guitar. Speaking about the “current trend” of bands who come out of retirement for a new run of shows, such as MÖTLEY CRÜE and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, Dee said: “I think it’s bullshit. When you say farewell… RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE breaks up — that’s not retirement. They broke up, and they reformed, and that’s great. But when you do a farewell tour, and you announce this, and you sell tickets, and you have a t-shirt that says ‘No More Tours’ — thank you very much, Ozzy [Osbourne], I bought one of those — and then you come back, that’s bullshit. So when you say, ‘We’re retiring,’ people now don’t take it seriously. So, you know, it’s like a joke, and I think that a part of it is that these artists have nothing else going on. And I realize that — without playing, they have no career.”

In 2016, TWISTED SISTER embarked on one final trek, titled “Forty And Fuck It”, in celebration of its 40th anniversary. These shows featured the band’s “core lineup” of Snider, guitarist Jay Jay French, guitarist Eddie Ojeda and bassist Mark Mendoza, along with drummer Mike Portnoy. The band’s last-ever concert took place in November of that year — 20 months after the passing of TWISTED‘s longtime drummer A.J. Pero.

TWISTED SISTER‘s original run ended in the late ’80s. After more than a decade, the band publicly reunited in November 2001 to top the bill of New York Steel, a hard-rock benefit concert to raise money for the New York Police And Fire Widows’ And Children’s Benefit Fund.

104 Funny And Relatable Gen X Posts Other Generations Probably Won’t Understand

August 28, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Isn’t it fascinating how we’ve divided the human timeline into these quirky categories? We’ve got the silent heroes, the booming boomers, the effortlessly cool Gen X, the tech-savvy millennials, the Zoom-loving Gen Z, and hey there, Gen Alpha, you’re next in line. But right now, let’s turn the spotlight on you, you awesome Gen X’ers – the original latchkey kids, the masters of retro-cool. Born in 1965–1980, you know all too well about neon clothes, jelly bracelets, stirrup leggings, pay phones, big hair, and strawberry shortcake…

From the cosmic dust of the ’60s to the neon glow of the ’80s, the subreddit captures the essence of what it was like to grow up and live in this era. We’ve curated our favorite posts from the group, so grab your VHS tapes, dust off your Pogs collection, and get ready for a journey through the era of neon fanny packs, grunge anthems, and a world where the only social network that mattered was the one you actually attended in person.

The Gen X’ers, now comfortably middle-aged, could tell us a lot about life and how it used to be. Today’s trends, including music, fashion, and TV shows, often take cues from the vibrant ’70s and ’80s. A lively Reddit group, r/GenX boasts 98.1k members and is a hotspot for sharing nostalgic and funny content from that era.

Besides the fun things we associate with the ’70s and ’80s, there was much more to it. Gen X was the first generation with both parents working outside the home, but childcare options were limited at that time. Known as the “Latchkey Kids,” Xers grew up preparing meals and maintaining the household after school. This often led to a feeling of being overlooked, with Baby Boomers soaking up the limelight.

#6 Who Else Grew Up Learning To Question Authority From This Character?

A recent article in the New York Times defines Gen X this way: “A relatively small cohort sandwiched between baby boomers and millennials, this demographic consisting of Americans born between 1965 and 1980 seemed to dominate the cultural conversation for only a brief stretch of the 1990s, when Seattle seemed like the music capital of the universe and ‘Gen X’ served as shorthand for all things edgy and cool.”

They were the first to experience widespread cable television access as they grew up. In 1981, MTV, the 24/7 music video channel, arrived, capturing the hearts of countless Gen Xers and earning them the moniker “MTV Generation.”

Gen Xers grew up during a time of significant events. They faced the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s, leading to a focus on safe sex. They witnessed history unfold with the end of the Cold War, marked by the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the Soviet Union’s collapse in 1991. They saw both the triumph of the first successful space shuttle flight in 1981 and the tragedy of the Challenger explosion five years later. Gen Xers lived through the U.S. government’s anti-drug efforts, epitomized by the “just say no” campaign, and they also navigated the energy crises of the ’70s and ’80s.

Gen Xers are known for being resourceful and independent due to their latchkey upbringing. They value a work-life balance, having seen their parents’ work demands affect family time. Their cynicism can be attributed to the economic and societal challenges they faced during their childhood and early adulthood.

Now, aged 43 to 58, the “Coolest Generation” finds joy in simple activities like trips to Costco or Target, cozy Friday nights in, excitement over a new shower or lawnmower, and even crafting jelly from hand-picked crabapples.

To offer a point of reference and comparison with Gen X, we’ve gathered information about the next two generations. The revolution was influenced by millennials, also known as Generation Y. Born between 1982 and 1994, they’re digital natives, seamlessly incorporating technology into their daily routines. They moved from an analog to a digital world. Unlike earlier generations, millennials face intense competition due to the economic crisis, prompting them to strive for better qualifications. Unlike their Generation X parents, they’re ambitious and determined to achieve their goals.

Generation Z, aged 8 to 23, will be the leaders in the future. They’re also called centennials, born between 1995 and 2010, and came into the world with tablets and smartphones. Who are they? They’re the Internet generation, it’s part of them – in their homes, education, and how they socialize. Finding jobs might be even harder for them than for Generation Y. They’re tech-savvy but might prioritize screens over people. Yet, they use the Internet for social causes. They expect instant results due to their digital lives and are influenced by YouTubers. They can multitask but have shorter attention spans. As consumers, they’re independent and demanding, and their future jobs might not exist yet.

Wataru Endo reflects on “crazy” Liverpool transfer after making “special” debut – Mirror Online

August 27, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

It is hard to imagine an upside to a collective officiating decision so poor, that it almost called into question the neutrality of those officials involved.

‌Yet if the entire football world was left baffled by Alexis Mac Allister’s red card – which so clearly should have been overturned by the VAR Paul Tierney (who has a long and troubling history with Jurgen Klopp) – then it did lead directly to the most romantic moment of a wild game.

‌Shortly afterwards, blinking into the bright lights of Anfield, came a slightly bemused Wataru Endo for what was a remarkable Liverpool debut against Bournemouth, barely hours after his international clearance had landed. To say the signing of the Japan captain was left field is as understated as his transfer itself. It came from nowhere, and took even the midfielder himself by surprise.

“I only found out three or four days ago there was a chance!” he explained afterwards. “It was so so quick. At the beginning of the week I was getting ready to play in the Bundesliga, at the end of the week I am playing here at Anfield in front of all these fans – it is crazy!”

‌What is also crazy, is that Liverpool went from committing to spend £111m on a holding midfielder in Moises Caicedo, and then three days later actually spending almost £100m less on an alternative in the same position. Only in the mad world of football transfers can that happen.

Endo is 30 and hardly fits the profile of the Anfield club, who almost exclusively sign young players with the potential to develop their talent and value. Yet he has always dreamed of playing for a big Premier League and still dared to hope that his experience may get him that move.

“I understand top clubs want young talent, but you know I just try to (say to myself) ‘this is the only chance you can move to Liverpool’, because they always try to get younger players,” he explained. “To be honest I followed Liverpool’s news, that they wanted midfielders they wanted a number six, but yeah – I thought Caicedo had gone to Liverpool….!!

“So when he went to Chelsea I just thought, maybe, maybe. I thought maybe they needed experienced midfielders or something like that, because Henderson had moved, and also Fabinho had moved to another club, so I thought there may be a chance. It happened so quickly. I had to decide so fast, but actually, I couldn’t say no, because playing in the Premier League was always my dream.”

Liverpool home shirt 2023/2024

Liverpool’s home shirt for the 2023/2024 campaign pays homage to Bill Shankly and the legendary Reds manager’s final season in charge at Anfield. The Nike shirt features a bright red design with a bold white contrast on the colour and cuffs.

Prices start from £59.95

Klopp admitted the circumstances of Endo’s debut were “horrible”, being thrown in with just one brief training session, with barely a chance to get to know his teammates. But he was not alone in feeling like a stranger. Liverpool’s back five looked for the opening 15 minutes like they’d never met, Bournemouth capitalised with a fine goal from Antoine Semenyo, and could easily have been further ahead.

‌A soft Mo Salah penalty and then a fine Luis Diaz strike restored order, but it was only after Mac Allister was dismissed on his Anfield debut, that the home team finally started to look like a team – with another new boy Dominik Szoboszlai looking a real find, and Diaz excelling. But that red card means a potential three-match ban for Mac Allister – and more games immediately than Endo would have expected.

“I am an experienced player, so I need to accept and deal with even this situation,” he said afterwards with a smile. “It was hard…but it was special for me!”
