Mom’s Back-To-School ‘Rules’ For Son Are Hilarious And Helpful

September 1, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Ohio mom Nicole Jackson is convinced we’re all raising the same children.

“It doesn’t matter what race, color, or creed — motherhood is the thing that unites us,” Jackson, 43, tells TODAY.com.

Perhaps that’s why so many parents are relating to the hilarious rules Jackson set for her 13-year-old son as he headed back to school. The nurse in Cleveland outlined her expectations in a TikTok video that went viral last summer, but is being shared widely again as kids return to the classroom.

Jackson starts off with a warning about faking sick.

“What we not gonna do is change up our stomach energy. You’ve been living on a diet of hot chips, chicken nuggets, and every popsicle and disgusting drink known to man, without one stomachache. You’re not about to come to me talking about ‘my stomach hurt’ like you’ve got the intestinal tract of a geriatric Crohn’s patient,” Jackson begins.

Rule No. 2: This is not the time to suddenly start sleeping in.

“What we not gonna do is act like we can’t wake up,” Jackson says. “You’ve getting up at 6:77 every morning—and yes, I said 6:77 because it’s some ungodly hour that doesn’t exist—asking me about some breakfast.”

Jackson expects her eighth grader to prepare his backpack and clothes before going to bed in order to avoid a chaotic morning. She expects proper lead time on anything that involves paperwork, including picture day packets. And don’t even think about coming to Jackson the night before a big assignment is due: She refuses to stay up until the “wee hours,” helping to complete the project.

Jackson also lays down the law about running out of school supplies during the first week.

“I literally just spent $75,000 making sure everything on the list was there,” she says. “You’re not about to keep losing everything.”

Jackson concludes her video with a rant about food — and moms everywhere are raising their fists in solidarity.

“What we not gonna do is complain about the lunches that are packed for you,” Jackson notes. “I literally took you to the store and asked you if every separate item was OK, but then when I went to put it together in a lunch that’s nutritious, now all of a sudden it’s trash.”

That brings Jackson to her final rule. No more asking “55 times” when dinner will be ready.

“I told you to eat the lunch that I provided, that you told me was OK but now is trash,” she quips.

“Can you please speak at every school?” one person wrote in the comments.

Added another, “Ma’am respectfully, do you do presentations via zoom?? cause my boy needs this.”

Jackson tells TODAY.com that her son headed back to school last week after a “very long” summer vacation.

“Best day of the year! Mimosas for everyone,” she jokes. “I celebrate this day like it’s a national holiday.”

Jackson adds that she’s glad she’s making people smile.

“Parenthood is a glorious experience, but it’s hard — it comes with problems,” she says. “We need to laugh at the weeds that grow in the garden.”

Kevin Costner flashes a smile while stepping out in Glasgow as his bitter divorce from estranged wife Christine Baumgartner rages on | Daily Mail Online

Kevin Costner flashes a smile while stepping out in Glasgow as his bitter divorce from estranged wife Christine Baumgartner rages on

Hollywood superstar Kevin Costner was seen strolling through the street of Glasgow on Monday.

The American actor, 68, is visiting the city to score a film and looked in great spirits on the outing.

The star was wearing a thick winter coat and scarf in the 22C heat as he walked with actor David O’Hara.

Costner told photographers as she walked down the pavement: ‘It’s perfect here. We are here scoring a movie.’

The actor signed autographs before returning to his Glasgow hotel after a day out and about.

It comes amid a difficult time in his personal life as he is currently in the process of divorcing from his estranged wife Christine Baumgartner.

Just a few days ago the pair arrived separately to give depositions in their pending divorce in Santa Barbara, California on Saturday.

The at-odds duo initially tied the knot in 2004 – before she filed for divorce on May 1 after 18 years of marriage.

Their divorce battle has become far from amicable, and Christine has been living in a $35,000 rental in town after she was booted out of the family’s mansion.

Kevin, 68, looked relaxed as he arrived to the law offices in light gray jeans, a white button down shirt, and sneakers.

The Let Him Go actor wore dark sunglasses and carried a brown jacket.

Christine carried two large bags for her meeting with the attorneys who are helping hammer out the final agreement for the dissolution of her marriage.

Witnesses say the handbag designer was originally scheduled to arrive later in the day, but instead arrived an hour before her soon-to-be ex-husband.

The divorce proceedings between the former couple have been contentious from the start.

One of the biggest sticking points is where Christine will live.

Kevin’s attorney have argued the prenup signed before their September 2004 wedding required her to move out of their Montecito home.

The contract calls for a $200,000 down payment for Christine’s new residence and for the Dances with Wolves star to cover the monthly mortgage, property tax, and insurance payments for one year.

She initially refused to do leave the Montecito mansion, but a judge ordered her to leave the residence by July 31.

The couple share three children, Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14 and Grace 12 and child support has been a big source of contention for the duo.

Family: The former couple share three children: sons Cayden, 16; and Hayes, 14; along with their younger daughter Grace, 13

Christine initially asked for nearly $250,000 per month for child support, while The Highwayman star countered with an offer of $51, 940 per month.

A judge has ordered the star to make payments of $129,000 per month.

Hearings on the child support issue are scheduled for August 31 and September 9.

Costner has four older children: Annie, 39, Lily, 37,  and Joe, 35, from his marriage to Cindy Silva. He has a son, Liam, 27, from his relationship with heiress Bridget Rooney.

Jurgen Klopp gets last laugh after being shushed by Jason Tindall and reasserts record dominance over Eddie Howe and Newcastle assistant

August 31, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Jurgen Klopp had a moment to savour as he got revenge on Newcastle assistant manager Jason Tindall.

Ten-man Liverpool completed a remarkable turnaround at St. James Park, with two late goals from substitute Darwin Nunez snatching an unexpected win.

So unlikely was that victory, that Eddie Howe’s assistant made sure to shut down Klopp in the first half.

With Virgil van Dijk sent off minutes after Anthony Gordon’s opener, Tindall was photographed seemingly shushing at a complaining Klopp.

Given Newcastle’s home form and Liverpool’s loss of their captain, it looked like a safe jibe from Tindall, however, it was anything but.

Nunez inspired the Reds with his 81st and 93rd minute goals, and Klopp very much had the last laugh.

The German was beaming at full-time, and he had every right to, considering his dominance over Tindall and Howe.

Klopp now has 11 consecutive wins over the management duo, dating back to their pre-Newcastle days at Bournemouth.

That is impressively the longest winning run in Premier League history by one manager over another, according to Opta.

The achievement is further highlighted by how miserly the Magpies were last season, losing only five league games, the fewest in the division – join with Manchester City.

Two of those defeats came against Liverpool though one in hugely dramatic scenes at Anfield as Fabio Carvalho scored in the eighth minute of stoppage time during a 2-1 win.

So long is the streak, that Tindall would probably well advised to keep his fingers to himself for the next match-up at Anfield on December 30.

Jurgen Klopp has last laugh after Jason Tindall’s brutal swipe at Liverpool manager – Mirror Online

August 31, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

The Reds looked as though they were heading for a miserable defeat after Virgil van Dijk was sent off for a last-man challenge on Alexander Isak, whilst Anthony Gordon had also put the hosts ahead. Even before Van Dijk’s dismissal, Newcastle thought they were hard done by with Trent Alexander-Arnold also lucky to escape a red.

Following those two incidents, there were a number of exchanges between the two benches. Newcastle assistant manager Tindall in particular took aim at Klopp as he shushed the German by putting his finger to his lips.

Klopp was certainly not quiet come the final whistle though. Darwin Nunez stepped off the bench to secure three points for Liverpool with two late goals.

The Uruguayan’s double strike triggered wild celebrations in the visiting dugout. The exchange is just the latest in a series of digs between the pair over the last few weeks.

Klopp recently joked that Tindall would struggle with the Premier League ’s new rules of assistants not being able to stand at the front of the technical area. He said: “It’s like that in the Champions League anyway. I think it’s only a problem for one team: Newcastle. Sorry!”

Howe responded to that jibe in his press conference ahead of Sunday’s showdown. He replied: “I wouldn’t say I laugh at the comments.

“Other people can have opinions. That’s fine. I’ve got no issue with that. You just sort of roll with it, let it go and just talk about my team.”

Whilst a number of furious exchanges took place between both benches, it wasn’t quite finished there . Klopp was forced to intervene as Van Dijk left the pitch and had some furious words for the fourth official.

Referee John Brooks was also the target of a foul-mouthed rant from the Dutch defender. He was spotted saying “f***ing joke” as his red card was confirmed by VAR.

Liverpool and Klopp will now turn their attentions to extending their unbeaten start to the new season next weekend. The Reds welcome Aston Villa to Anfield next Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Klopp will no doubt be looking forward to the return clash with Newcastle on Merseyside later this season. Anfield was the scene of some more furious exchanges last season vs Newcastle after Fabio Carvalho’s late winner. That match is scheduled to take place on December 30.

Ezekiel Elliott explains why he is a ‘good fit’ with Patriots, calls Bill Belichick a ‘funny guy’ – CBSSports.com

August 31, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Ezekiel Elliott didn’t hesitate when asked what excites him most about being a member of the New England Patriots. After seven largely successful years with the Cowboys, the two-time league rushing champion is hoping to get his career back on track with the Patriots, who signed him earlier this month.

“Shoot, just going out and competing for a championship,” Elliott told the Patriots’ website. “It feels good. I’ve been at home for a while, so it feels good to get back to ball, getting out there on the field and playing the game that I love.”

That response wasn’t too surprising, but Elliott’s comments regarding his new coach, Bill Belichick, were.

“He’s a great coach. He’s a funny guy,” Elliott said, via CLSN. “He demands excellence of this team, and he knows how to get it out of you.”

The usually stoic Belichick has been known to reveal his personality from time to time. He recently shared it when he shared his admiration for Taylor Swift.

Belichick might be sharing more of his humorous side, but the 71-year-old coach is by no means getting soft. Belichick’s non-nonsense approach, and his team’s tough-nosed reputation, were among the things that attracted Elliott to New England. New England’s commitment to the running game, Elliott said, was another reason why he wanted to sign with them.

“This is definitely a team that wants to run the ball, wants to be balanced,” Elliott said. “It’s been great working with Rhamondre (Stevenson). He’s a back that has a similar running style as me, so I think we will be able to complement each other really well.”

Stevenson, who last year became the first Patriots running back to rush for over 1,000 yards since 2016, said similar things about Elliott, who rushed for 12 touchdowns for the Cowboys last season despite sharing a backfield with Tony Pollard.

“I wouldn’t really compare us together,” Stevenson said, “but I feel like our game’s going to complement each other very well.”

Belichick was hesitant to offer specifics on Elliott’s role with the team shortly after the Patriots signed him. Elliott’s preparation, Belichick said, would determine when and how much Elliott will practice. Well, if practice is any indication of Elliott’s preparation, he was on the field and in the end zone during his second day with the Patriots, which happened to be a joint practice with the Packers.

“I was at home, but I was definitely working my tail off,” Elliott said. “I did one day of conditioning after I signed, and they put me right in there,” Elliott said when asked if he’s currently in football shape. “I feel good. I feel like I’m ready to play. I’ve been here what, a week to eight days, so I’m still getting in that playbook trying to know it the way I should, but I’m getting there.”

While it’s still early, all signs appear to indicate that Elliott is off to a good start with his new team.

“When you look at my play style and the culture of this team, I think it’s a good match,” Elliott said. “I’m a good fit.”
