This season marks LeBron James’ 19th year in the NBA, a truly incredible feat that sets him apart from most other superstars.
Most impressively, however, is that he’s playing like he’s 10 years younger.
On Tuesday night, James produced another signature performance, scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in L.A.’s 5-point win over Sacramento.
The highlight moment came late into the match when James dropped an impressive bucket and followed it with a ramped-up proclamation.
In what has been a string of dominant games from The King, it’s no surprise he got a little excited after dealing a victory for his squad.
On Twitter, NBA fans showered him with praise, hailing him as the best player in the world.
There is no getting around how remarkable it is that Bron is still this elite in year 19 and his longevity is something we’ve really never seen before
In fact, earlier this month he became the oldest player to average over 25 points per game while also still holding the record for being the youngest.
No doubt, Bron’s pursuit of the GOAT title is among the many things driving him this season.
“LeBron James is still chasing to be on top, and he wanna stack up his resume. His resume is already long, but he wants to continue to grow so that he can shut up those Jordan fans out there,” said Kendrick Perkins.
“When you look at LeBron James, and people thought that he went to Los Angeles to go film movies and do all these things with Space Jam. But, this guy wants to win. He wants to be on top. He don’t even want it to be a debate, he don’t even want it to be an argument. He want it to be known that, ‘hey, I am him.’ At the end of the day, people may say he’s 37 years old but if you watch how he’s playing right now Man, he’s playing like, ‘Nah, I’m not gonna use that as an excuse.'”
Despite LeBron’s play, the Lakers have been pretty subpar overall, just barely sitting above .500 almost halfway through the season. It remains to be seen if they can turn things around.
Regardless, it’s not a good idea to count them out completely. LeBron James has shown plenty of times before why that’s a bad idea.
Now, more than ever, James seems ready to prove everyone wrong.
