Cristiano Ronaldo’s formidable start to life back at Manchester United continued on Sunday afternoon, netting the Reds’ equaliser in their clash with West Ham United at the London Stadium.

After falling behind to Said Benrahma’s deflected effort on the half hour mark, United hit back almost immediately, drawing level just five minutes later.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who scored twice on his second United debut against Newcastle United last weekend, sprung the offside trap to connect with Bruno Fernandes’ terrific cross, only to see his flicked effort saved by Hammers goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

However, the Portuguese sensation was alive to react, tapping home the rebound to claim his fourth goal in three appearances since returning to the club last month.

Although it was one of the easiest goals that Ronaldo is ever likely to score in career, it was again the result of him being in the right place at the right time and having that ability to sniff out an opportunity coming his way.

As expected, United’s supporters, watching at home on TV, hailed Ronaldo, flooding social media with messages and comments. Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what some of them have had to say.

As you can see from the messages displayed above, United’s supporters are simply in awe of Ronaldo, with the striker having hit the ground running upon his return to the club.

As well as that, they have also expressed fears about what position they could have been in against the Hammers without him, with the home side having dominated much of the first half.

At half time, the score was level at 1-1.
