Alejandro Garnacho ‘likes’ criticism of Ten Hag with decision branded ‘joke’

April 19, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho has responded to Erik ten Hag’s decision to hook him at half-time in Saturday’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Bournemouth. The winger started at the Vitality Stadium as United looked to apply pressure on the chasing pack for Champions League football. However, it was another frustrating afternoon away from Old Trafford for the Reds as they failed to defeat the Cherries. Dominic Solanke opened the scoring in the first-half after Garnacho gave the ball away inside United’s half before the winger played a big part in Bruno Fernandes’ leveller. Justin Kluivert made it 2-1 before Fernandes rescued a point from the spot. READ MORE: Manchester United player ratings as Bruno Fernandes shines but Casemiro poor vs Bournemouth READ MORE: Bruno Fernandes uses angry exchange with Onana and Ten Hag to help Manchester United at Bournemouth Garnacho’s afternoon ended early when he was replaced by Amad Diallo at half-time. After the game, Ten Hag confirmed the decision was primarily tactical due to problems down their right-hand side – where both of Bournemouth’s goals came from. “We lost some balls in areas we shouldn’t lose them,” he said. “If you see the first goal, the set-up was good but in that area you should never lose the ball but it’s still not a goal. On the right side defending we had some problems in the first half. At half-time, we repaired it. “In the second half, Harry was better, we repaired it on the right side and we took more control of the game and if we would have been more calm and composed, we could have had a win. “First half, they were better. They created chances but the good thing is we returned twice from losing positions. So this team, the spirit is good, the resilience is good, they showed some character. “I think we had to repair over the right side. We didn’t play well, the spaces were there. In possession, we had to bring a sub there. “Garnacho was during the week not training. Only yesterday. We thought to bring some energy and bring some more quality, quality in the sense of cooperation and togetherness on that right-hand side.” Following Ten Hag’s admission of United’s problem down the right-hand side, Garnacho has responded on social media by liking two tweets about his substitution. Well-known United supporter Mark Goldbridge slammed Ten Hag’s decision to replace Garnacho on X, formerly Twitter. Garnacho liked the two tweets from Goldbridge. The first tweet read: “Garnacho has been one of our best players this season. Poor first half but taking him off at half-time and holding him up as the problem is a joke. Many have done much worse week in week out and are still out there.” Two hours later, Goldbridge added: “Ten Hag subtly blaming Garnacho in the post-match press conference… not a good look throwing a 19-year-old under the bus who has actually delivered for you this season. But then again he’s clearly scared of upsetting the bigger earners.” Try MUFC Pro NOW for free Subscribe to our brilliant app for the best way to enjoy the M.E.N’s unrivalled Manchester United coverage. Mark Cuban is ‘proud to pay’ $275.9 million in taxes: ‘It’s crazy and unreal in so many ways’

April 19, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

While you may be annoyed about paying taxes, billionaire Mark Cuban says he’s happy to pay the $275.9 million he owes for 2023. “I pay what I owe,” Cuban wrote on social media site X on Sunday. “This country has done so much for me, I’m proud to pay my taxes every single year.” Cuban confirmed with CNBC Make It on Monday that his $275.9 million tax bill was “wired today.” “We only get to be entrepreneurs and enjoy the freedoms we have because of the men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting our country,” he tells CNBC Make It. “They deserve every penny they get and my taxes go to support them.” Cuban, who is also one of the stars on ABC’s “Shark Tank,” has an estimated net worth of $5.4 billion and says his tax bill is “almost all long term capital gains,” which almost certainly triggered a federal long-term capital gains tax of 20%. Cuban declined to confirm which assets triggered capital gains taxes, or whether it was related to his partial $3.5 billion sale of the Dallas Mavericks, which was approved in December 2023. Long-term capital gains taxes apply to the sale of assets held for more than a year before they are sold. Capital gains rates are based on total taxable income and are generally lower than ordinary income rates. Here are the 2023 long-term capital gains tax rates for a single filer: 0%: $0 to $44,625 15%: $44,626 to $492,300 20%: $492,301 or higher Cuban might also owe additional taxes based on his personal income. He has confirmed in past years that he pays 37%, the top federal income tax rate for people who earn $578,126 or more. The U.S. uses progressive income tax brackets, which charge gradually higher rates once a taxpayer’s income exceeds a bracket’s total. Here’s a breakdown of how it works for a single taxpayer for the 2023 tax year: Income of $11,000 or less: 10% of the taxable income $11,001 to $44,725: $1,100 plus 12% of amount over $11,000 $44,726 to $95,375: $5,147 plus 22% of amount over $44,725 $95,376 to $182,100: $16,290 plus 24% of amount over $95,375 $182,101 to $231,250: $37,104 plus 32% of amount over $182,100 $231,251 to $578,125: $52,832 plus 35% of amount over $231,250 $578,126 or more: $174,238.25 plus 37% of amount over $578,125 For example, if Cuban was in the highest tax bracket and filing as a single payer, that means he would owe $174,238.25 plus 37% of any income he earned above the $578,125 threshold. (Cuban is married.) Paying more than a quarter of a billion dollars is “crazy and unreal in so many ways,” Cuban wrote on X. “Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be here. I try to never take it for granted.” Cuban has been vocal about paying his taxes for years. By paying taxes, wealthy entrepreneurs like himself are “helping support millions of Americans that are not as fortunate as you,” he wrote in a 2011 blog post. “Some people might find it distasteful to pay taxes,” Cuban wrote. “I don’t. I find it patriotic.” Disclosure: CNBC owns the exclusive off-network cable rights to “Shark Tank.” Want to make extra money outside of your day job?  Sign up for CNBC’s new online course How to Earn Passive Income Online to learn about common passive income streams, tips to get started and real-life success stories. Arsenal fans joke as they discover Harry Kane may get a cannon prize

April 18, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Arsenal fans joke as they discover the only trophy ex-Spurs talisman Harry Kane looks likely to win with Bayern Munich this year looks like their iconic cannon badge Arsenal fans discovered the German top scorer trophy looks like a cannon Harry Kane is currently seven goals clear of his nearest competitor for the prize Is it ever OK to leave a game early? Listen to the It’s All Kicking Off podcast Harry Kane might miss out on any club silverware in his first season at Bayern Munich – but a potential personal accolade has brought laughter to Arsenal fans. Bayern trail Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga table by five points, after a 3-0 defeat to their title rivals on Saturday evening – and while there are 13 games of the season remaining, it would be the first time in 12 years that Bayern have failed to win the German league if they cannot claw back the deficit. And the pressure is mounting on the German giants after their 1-0 defeat to Lazio on Wednesday night meant they are up against it in the last 16 of the Champions League. However, fans noted that former Tottenham talisman Kane is on course to bag the Torjagerkanone Award, the German equivalent of the Golden Boot, for his 24 goals in 21 league appearances for Bayern, seven goals clear of his nearest rival. There’s just one thing: the trophy looks like a cannon, one of the famous emblems of Arsenal, the local rivals of Spurs. Bayern’s Harry Kane is currently seven goals clear in the race for the Torjagerkanone Award However, Arsenal fans were quick to joke on discovering that the trophy looks like a cannon One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter): ‘So, Harry Kane could finish this season as the Bundesliga’s top scorer, but still without a championship trophy to his name… ‘And the funniest part – Have you seen what the award for being top scorer in Germany actually looks like?’ They shared pictures of other former winners of the trophy, including ex-Bayern star Robert Lewandowski, who won the prize seven times. Fans responded to the tweet mocking Kane’s potential prize, with various responses including ‘No way !!!! This would just be hilarious’, ‘HAHAHAHA this is awesome’ and ‘This is truly wonderful..’. To further compound matters – and dragging the North London argument across to the German title race – former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has made 21 league appearances for Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen side this season. Another wrote: ‘Would be the Spursiest thing ever. Joining a team that’s won the league 11 seasons in a row and finishing top-scorer after a record-breaking season of goal scoring, only to finish second to a team with an ex-Arsenal player and getting a cannon-shaped trophy for his exploits.’ Fans on X (formerly Twitter) found it funny the ex-Spurs talisman could win this trophy Kane’s Bayern are five points behind domestically, and lost to Lazio in the Champions League Meanwhile, someone else noted: ‘the Bundesliga has the chance to do the funniest thing ever’. The England captain said himself that his £100m move to the Bundesliga giants was inspired by silverware, having yet to win a trophy during his career, but with Bayern up against it in the league and Europe – and out of the German Cup – he might be waiting a little longer. Last year’s Torjagerkanone – which literally means “goalscorer cannon” – was split between Niclas Fullkrug and Christopher Nkunku, who both scored 16 goals each. The Marvels deleted scene sees Valkyrie jump to a hilarious conclusion regarding Carol and Kamala’s relationship

April 18, 2024 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie puts her foot in it in a deleted scene from The Marvels, as she hilariously mistakes Kamala Khan for… Carol Danvers’s wife. Ahead of the superhero flick’s DVD and Blu-ray release on February 13, additional footage from the Marvel outing has made its way online, with one exclusive clip from IGN revealing more time with Thor’s boozy bestie. In it, Kamala (Iman Vellani) can be seen exploring her idol Carol’s spaceship after one of their unexpected switches, though her wide-eyed nosying gets interrupted when the King of New Asgard dials in for a virtual chat. “Oh, captain! My captain,” Valkyrie begins, before realizing it’s not Carol (Brie Larson) she’s talking to. “Oh, you’re not my captain…” “Captain Marvel residence, this is Ms. Marvel speaking,” Kamala replies with a smile. “How can I… you’re Valkyrie?!” Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, finds herself in Captain Marvel’s ship after an unexpected switch and incredulously picks up a call from Valkyrie in this deleted scene from The Marvels. pic.twitter.com/dIXL6Waso3January 11, 2024 “Tis I,” a puzzled Valkyrie confirms, before adding: “Wait… Mrs. Marvel?! She got married again? And no invite… again?!” “No! I’m Ms. Marvel. Mssssss. We’re married, that would be… I’m single,” Kamala clarifies, as another switch cuts their unexpected encounter short. In The Marvels’ final cut, Valkyrie only appeared in one scene, when she landed on Carol’s ship to escort the Skrull refugees who survived Dar-Benn’s attack on Tarnax to New Asgard. It’s a fleeting moment, where Valkyrie gives an self-doubting Carol some words of encouragement before jetting off, so it’s interesting to see she originally had more of a presence in the Nia DaCosta-directed movie. Thompson previously starred in DaCosta’s feature-length debut Little Woods, and reunites with her again on her reimagining of Henrik Ibsen’s play Hedda Gabler, which has just started filming in the UK. The Marvels will be available to purchase and rent on Apple TV+ and Prime Video from January 16. For more, check out all the new superhero movies and upcoming movies heading our way.
