Ryan Reynolds is set to become the latest recipient of the Robin Williams Laughter Award.

The award comes from actress Glenn Close’s charity, Bring Change to Mind (BC2M), and has previously been received by prominent comedians and entertainers. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds will receive the award at the 11th annual Revels and Revelation Fundraiser. Close’s charity seeks to end the stigma around mental health, and hosts the gala to raise funds in support of top scientists in the field. The award is named after the late, great Robin Williams, whose brilliant mind for comedy brought joy to innumerable people throughout his career. Previous recipients include Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Stiller, Melissa McCarthy, and Dan and Eugene Levy.

Reynolds has led a very impressive career, first landing a role on the Canadian teen soap opera Hillside. He then went on to star in comedies like Waiting and The Proposal –the latter of which also featured Sandra Bullock. In 2009, he made his first appearance as Wade Wilson (Deadpool’s alter ego) in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Reynolds’ was the perfect casting choice for Deadpool as his quick and dry wit suited the character perfectly. Controversially with some fans, the film made some bizarre decisions with the character, such as Deadpool’s transformation into Weapon XI. However, X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a box office hit, which led to the development and eventual production of solo Deadpool films –with some hijinks along the way, including leaked scripts and footage.

Reynolds has gone on to become the second highest-paid actor in the world, behind only Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – with whom he co-starred in Netflix’s Red Notice, along with Gal Gadot. He has written, produced, and starred in two Deadpool films, with a third one on the way. Reynolds has also appeared in Free Guy, The Adam Project, 6 Underground, and Detective Pikachu. The actor also played the main character in the now-infamous Green Lantern.

The gala will feature performances by Reba McEntire and Amy Schumer. It will also have several items for auction, including lunch and a house tour with Ina Garten and a guitar signed by Taylor Swift. Wayne Brady and Paul Shaffer will also be involved in the event. The BC2M gala will be hosted in New York City on October 9th.

SAMBUTAN hari lahir pastinya momen yang dinanti-nantikan setiap tahun.

Pelbagai bentuk kejutan akan dirancang ahli keluarga mahupun teman-teman untuk meraikan hari bersejarah ini.

Menerusi video yang tular di TikTok, seorang wanita tampil dengan idea unik sempena ulang tahun kelahiran rakan sepejabatnya.

Dalam rakaman itu, wanita berkenaan menampal satu notis di belakang kereta rakannya yang meminta pengguna jalan raya untuk membunyikan hon sebanyak tiga kali sebagai tanda ucapan hari jadi.

Keadaan itu membuatkan rakannya tidak keruan apabila beberapa kereta tiba-tiba membunyikan hon.

Bercerita kepada mStar, Siti Nur Izzah Anuar, 25, berkata dia mengambil inspirasi untuk melakukan kejutan itu daripada laman YouTube.

“Di pejabat, saya ada tiga kawan karib, satu sebaya dengan saya, nama dia Wahidah, lagi seorang ni dah kira senior, nama dia Dewi tapi kami biasa panggil dia kakak je. Kami ni memang masuk ‘air’.

“Yang kami sambut tu hari jadi Kak Dewi yang ke-41. Mulanya, kawan saya bagi idea, dia tunjuk video prank yang lebih kurang macam ni juga dibuat di pejabat.

“Tapi sebab waktu birthday Kak Dewi tu tak ramai masuk pejabat, jadi saya dan Wahidah ambil keputusan untuk buat plan B, iaitu di kereta. Saya belajar daripada YouTube juga cara untuk plan ni.

Maka menjadi la prank kami, reaksi Kak Dewi yang seronok tengok tu.

“Lagi best kejutan ni sebab kami tahu Kak Dewi tak suka kena hon, kalau kena hon je dia akan mula jadi tak tentu arah,” kata Izzah yang merupakan ejen insurans PruBSN Takaful di Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

Mengakui gementar jika kejutan mereka tidak menjadi, Izzah dan Wahidah tetap meneruskan rancangan tersebut.

“Kami ajak Kak Dewi untuk makan tengah hari di sebuah pasaraya di Seremban 2, naik kereta dia, biar dia yang masuk kereta dulu. Wahidah print kertas notis tu dan saya tampal dekat belakang kereta.

Momen mencuit hati apabila Izzah dan Wahidah membuat kejutan untuk Kak Dewi.

“Kak Dewi sedar pergi ke AEON tu sebab nak makan tengah hari sambil sambut birthday dia, tapi dia tak tahu tentang prank ni. Walau apa pun yang jadi, tak boleh bagi Kak Dewi berhenti kereta, sebab nanti kantoi,” katanya.

Menurut Izzah, dia teruja apabila notis yang diletakkan di belakang kereta mendapat sambutan di luar jangkaan daripada pengguna jalan raya yang lain.

“Mula-mula tu risau juga kalau kami buat prank ni tak ada siapa yang layan nak hon, sekali bila saya tampal je kertas tu, terus ada kereta dekat tepi dah hon. Kak Dewi terkejut, dia tanya saya kenal ke orang tu. Saya cakap tak pun.

Sambutan hari lahir untuk Kak Dewi.

“Masuk kereta, saya buka telefon dan rakam, saya cakap dekat Kak Dewi nak buat video vlog untuk sambutan birthday dia. Kak Dewi percaya.

“Ada beberapa kereta yang hon. Tiba di lampu isyarat, masuk kereta yang ketiga hon, Kak Dewi terus hilang sabar. Dia cakap ada apa-apa yang tak kena ke kereta dia. Dia ada buat salah apa ke?

“Dia fikir mungkin tali beg laptop dia terkeluar dari celah pintu, jadi orang prihatin nak beritahu. Wahidah dekat belakang dah cuit-cuit saya sebab tahan gelak,” cerita Izzah.

Izzah kemudian sengaja meminta Kak Dewi untuk melalui jalan yang lebih jauh bagi memastikan lebih ramai pemandu membunyikan hon.

“Sepanjang perjalanan, memang banyak hon, kami ketawa tengok muka Kak Dewi berkerut.

“Sampai dekat lot parkir pasar raya, saya turun dulu kononnya nak pergi periksa. Saya cakap alamak kak, tak ada pun tali beg laptop terkeluar.

“Kak Dewi pelik, dia datang ke belakang dan dia pun nampak kertas yang ditampal tu.

“Menjadi prank kami, Alhamdulillah semuanya berjalan lancar. Reaksi Kak Dewi seronok dapat kejutan,” kata Izzah lagi.
