Chris Rock can, and should, joke about whoever he wants — especially after being slapped by Will Smith — even if some feel it’s at Jada Pinkett Smith’s expense … according to 2 fellow comics.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s ex-fling August Alsina thought Chris Rock’s jokes on his explosive Netflix special were ‘funny and truthful’, a source told The New York Post.

In July 2020 Pinkett Smith, 51,  admitted she did have an affair with singer Alsina, 30, while married to Smith during a bombshell tell-all confessional – with Rock’s new show, Selective Outrage, tearing into Will and Jada‘s relationship in the wake of the infamous Oscars slap. 

A source told the publication: ‘August watched the Netflix special and he laughed. He thought it was not only funny but truthful. That was the best part for him.

‘A lot of people spoke out against [Alsina]. So he was happy to see that Chris Rock seemed to be advocating for the truth and not just making a joke.’

Chris‘s long-awaited public response to being slapped by Smith after he made a joke about Pinkett Smith’s shaved head –  has been met with high praise – with some calling it the ‘best brutal takedown’ in history.

Bringing Jada up in the show, he addressed her affair and his frustration that he was the one who ‘bore the brunt’ of the couple’s marital troubles.

‘Will Smith practices selective outrage,’ Rock said, giving a nod to the special’s title.

‘Everybody that really knows knows I had nothing to do with that. I didn’t have any entanglements…She hurt him way more than he hurt me.’

He even brought up the fact that Pinkett Smith only confessed to having an affair while interviewing her husband and noted: ‘His wife was f****** her son’s friend.’

Bill Bellamy and Jeff Dye defended Rock’s right to make jokes about Smith, with the former saying on TMZ Live: ‘It was a personal thing that happened to him. I don’t think he was being malicious, he was just pushing the envelope.’ 

Dye added: ‘Anyone who is upset for Chris Rock doing jokes is insane… they should be lucky he didn’t press charges and then drop a special.’ 

The actress first publicly revealed her affair when she  sat down with her husband for an intimate conversation on her Facebook show, Red Table Talk, where she revealed how the relationship took place.

Jada said she developed a friendship with August four years prior, but revealed she and Will were going through a ‘difficult time’ and had ‘basically broken up’.

The shocking confessional comes after both actors initially denied August’s claims that Will gave him his blessing to have a relationship with Jada.

Jada began explaining the couple met August through their son Jaden and recalled the singer, who would have been 23 at the time, was ‘really sick’.

Back on: Jada and Will have since repaired their relationship and have ‘really gotten to that new place of unconditional love’ (pictured November 2022) 

Jade said: ‘And it all started with him just needing some help, me wanting to help his health, his mental state. 

‘The outpouring for him from our family was initially about his health,’ she said. ‘We found all those different resources to help pull him through and from there you and I were going through a very difficult time.’ 

Following Jada’s confession Will admitted: ‘I was done with you,’ while Jada added that they decided to separate for a ‘period of time’.

‘And then what did you do, Jada?’ Will asked, urging his wife to keep talking. 

‘As time went on, I got into a different type of entanglement with August,’ Jada explained.

The mother-of-two went on to respond to August’s claim that Will gave her ‘permission’ to have an affair.

‘The only person that can give permission in that circumstance is myself,’ she insisted.

‘But what August was probably trying to communicate because I could see how he could see it as permission because we were separated amicably, and I think he wanted to make it clear he’s not a home wrecker, because he’s not.’

When Will pushed Jada to clarify what she meant by ‘entanglement’ she responded, ‘It was a relationship, absolutely.’  

Jada continued: ‘I was in a lot of pain, and I was very broken. In the process of that relationship I definitely realized that you can’t find happiness outside yourself.’

August told The Breakfast Club’s Angela Yee that he was in love with Jada and said: ‘I sat down with Will [Smith] and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership… he gave me his blessing.’

A model whose upper lip was ripped off by a pit bull has shared an update on her recovery following her final reconstructive surgery, saying she is ‘so blessed with the results.’ 

Brooklinn Khoury, 23, from Mission Viejo, California, took to Instagram on Saturday to post a photo of her doctor tracing her lip with a blue marker at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She also included a snapshot of her side profile as she smiled. 

‘Almost three weeks post-op! Everything is healing so well. Still pretty swollen but so blessed with the results!’ she captioned the images, which have received more than 50,000 likes. 

A few days later, she shared more pictures of herself showing off her new smile, revealing on her Instagram Stories that all of her stitches were out.

Khoury explained on Instagram that her surgeon had reconstructed her central columns, lip, and cupid’s bow

The professional skateboarder announced on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday that all of her stiches are out 

The professional skateboarder has been documenting her recovery on social media, and her lip appeared to be almost completely healed in her latest set of images. 

She was visiting her family in Arizona when her cousin’s pit bull attacked her without warning and tore off her lip and part of her nose in November 2020. 

Khoury, who had met the eight-year-old dog named Diesel numerous times, was standing in the kitchen when the harrowing incident took place. 

‘I was like, “You’re such a good boy.” He literally sprung from a sitting position like onto my face,’ she told People in 2021. ‘I was standing, and he was sitting — he literally just sprung up. 

‘And he was literally, hanging — literally like arms, legs hanging off of my lip. And my first instinct was like, “Oh my God, get on the ground with him, hold his head, go wherever he goes.”‘

When the pit bull finally let go, ‘something flew and hit the wall.’ She said there was ‘blood everywhere’ and she saw a pink lump on the floor and realized it was her lip. 

Khoury took the chunk of her lip with her to the emergency room, but surgeons weren’t able to reattach it. 

She started documenting her recovery on Instagram on November 6, 2020, three days after she was mauled. She posted a photo of herself cuddling a teddy bear in the hospital.  

Khoury posted photos after her surgery on February 16, saying it ‘went really well’ 

‘I’m very swollen right now, but once the swelling goes down it will look amazing. Thank God,’ she wrote in the caption 

Two days after the procedure, she posted a video of herself getting her quilting sutures out 

She was happy to report that the blood flow was ‘still strong’ in her upper lip during her recovery 

‘It’s crazy how your life can change so dramatically in the split of a second. I’m trying to stay as positive as I can about this whole situation, but I will be honest I am scared about my future, or if I’ll ever be able to smile again or eat normally,’ she wrote. 

‘This is the beginning of a long journey to recovery. I hate asking for anything but It would mean the world if you would pray for me. Please remember to hug someone you love today.’ 

In November 2021, she had her first reconstructive surgery, a 20-hour procedure that reportedly cost $400,000. Her surgeon created a skin graft from her forearm to replace the skin on her upper lip. 

She told BuzzFeed that she wasn’t getting the surgery to change her appearance, but instead, to protect her exposed gums. She added that she’s happy to ‘rock her no-lip forever’ and knows that she is never ‘going to look the same.’

Khoury opened up about her first surgery in a video shared on her YouTube channel, saying it was a success. 

‘Everything went well. The nerve, the tissue, the skin, is all well, alive, and healing, which is really good and really rare,’ she explained. ‘My fingers can move, [there’s no] nerve damage… so thank God.’

She noted that some people advised her not to post any videos or photos of her face because of ‘the way that it looks,’ but she wanted to be open about the process so that others who are in similar situations would feel less alone.  

‘I know I look different. I know I look crazy right now because of how swollen my face is but no point in hiding,’ she said. ‘I’m happy to share this. I’m happy to help anyone that I can.’

Khoury, who had her parents and her girlfriend, former Dance Moms star Chloe Lukasiak, by her side throughout every surgery, admitted that being in the hospital was difficult for her because it brought back traumatic memories from the attack.

She was isolated from her family and friends during her initial hospitalization because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  

‘Hospitals kind of give me problems because of the first attack, because I was alone,’ she said. ‘So when I’m in hospital I just get anxiety, which is unfortunate because I’m going to have a lot of surgeries. So I am trying to have a positive view on them in my head, but it’s taking a lot of patience.’

In February 2022, Khoury filmed a video with her girlfriend, Lukasiak, who recalled the heartbreaking moment she learned about the pit bull attack. 

Lukasiak explained that they had only been talking for five days when Khoury was hospitalized, but they have been together ever since. 

She insisted that she ‘never saw [Khoury] any differently’ after the attack and never once considered leaving her.  

‘What makes me mad about this society is that some people have expressed surprise and praised me for not leaving her because of that and it just makes me angry,’ the reality star said.

‘I understand that’s what we’re taught to think and feel, but it just makes me upset because if you spend five minutes with Brooklinn you’d understand how incredible of a human being she is.

No matter who you are or even what business you are in, it’s good to laugh.

The management team at the Wallingford Chevron gas station in Seattle, Washington knows this and helps people get in a chuckle with their often hilarious reader board signs.

The owner of the gas station, Jim Bernard, said that the famous Wallingford Sign began in 2005 when he and the manager just decided to do something silly and fun.

Instead of encouraging people to visit their station, they started just posting funny comments, puns, and other messages to make people laugh.

The manager of the Chevron station, Cassandra, says the signs impact the community in a “happy way.”

Drivers see so many advertisements along their travels that a funny sign can be a welcome change of pace.

Signs that make you laugh and signs that make you think

Most of the signs the Chevron station puts up are funny but some of them make you think too.

For instance, the below sign really makes you wonder what our dogs think about us.

I mean, dogs must have some sort of name for us, right?

Or perhaps if they are not associating us with a word, we are a scent or an image to them.

Who are we to dogs? I need to know this now!

We’re sorry naps!

However, to adults, naps are awesome! Doesn’t that make you regret how you treated naps earlier in your life?

Possible mistakes you can make at the beach

There are lots of mistakes you can potentially make at the beach.

Some of us have made more of them than others. Chasing after a dog named “Shark” at a beach is probably not going to earn you too many new friends.

Naming your dog “Help, I’m drowning right now, please rescue me” is also not advised.

Well, not everyone

Let’s think about this for a second. The song “Kung Fu Fighting” featuring the line, “Everyone was Kung Fu fighting” was released in 1974.

The world population at the time was almost 4 billion, half of what it is today but that’s a story for another time.

4 billion people all Kung Fu fighting at the same time would be logistically quite difficult.

A more realistic lyric for the song would probably be, “A lot of people were Kung Fu fighting but certainly not all the people.”
