47 Hilarious Dog Posts To Put A Smile On Your Face (New Pics)
Dogs are always up to something. They bark at themselves in the mirror while the two of you are preparing to go out, roll in the mud once you reach the park, and even keep running in their sleep after you come back home for a nap. They’re the funniest creatures.
So, to show you that it’s impossible to get tired of them, we at Bored Panda compiled the silliest dog posts we could find on the internet. Whatever day you’re having, it’s about to get (a little) better!

OK, what if your pup’s cute head tilt that you’ve never seen before, happened while your phone was out of reach? Now you want a picture. But how do you get your pet to repeat an action it hasn’t been trained to perform?
For K9s taught to “think back” on cue, you just have to ask. Turns out, dogs are capable of learning the instruction “do that again,” and can flexibly access memories of their own recent actions — cognitive abilities they were not known to possess, according to the results of a recent University at Buffalo study.

“We found that dogs could be trained to repeat specific actions on cue, and then take what they’d learned and apply it to actions they had never been asked to repeat,” the study’s corresponding author, Allison Scagel, Ph.D., who was a UB graduate student in the Department of Psychology at the time of the research, said.
“Our findings showed that they were able to apply the concept of repetition to new situations. More generally, we found evidence that dogs are capable of forming abstract concepts.”

Historically, there has been a notion that conscious awareness of past personal experiences is the exclusive domain of humans, but according to Scagel, recent research does not support that conclusion.
“Our study shows that dogs are capable of conceptualization, placing them in an expanding category of other animals that includes bottlenose dolphins and chimpanzees.”

Scagel explained that the findings present new flexible training possibilities for dogs.
“Dogs can do more than learn the relationship between a person’s cue and which specific trick they should. They can understand the concept of repetition: Whatever you just did, do that again.”
“It can apply to anything they do,” she added.

We often test animals on their ability to recall things in the external environment they have recently observed, such as objects, sounds, or scents. Memories of actions are different because they’re not outwardly perceivable.
Memories are entirely internal; they are purely mental representations of previous personal experiences that can be recalled in ways that might influence what the creature chooses to do in the future.

For this study, the researchers looked at dogs’ memories of their own recently performed actions to determine if they could voluntarily think back to what they had just been up to and reproduce those actions.
Three dogs participated: Todd, a male long-haired chihuahua belonging to Scagel; and two female golden retrievers — Aspen, belonging to an acquaintance of Scagel’s, and Layla, belonging to Scagel’s co-author, Eduardo Mercado III, a UB professor of psychology.

Traditional dog training is cue and response — when dogs hear or see a trained cue, they respond with behavior they have associated with that cue. For a baseline, the researchers started training the dogs in that fashion, with simple cues like spinning in a circle, lying down, or walking around an object.

The dogs then learned a separate repeat cue (the word “again” accompanied by a hand gesture), which instructed them to reproduce the action they had just finished. To assess whether the dogs had actually learned a general concept of repeating recent actions, they were asked to repeat novel actions that they had never been asked to repeat before. And they passed the test.
“This is an important step toward a greater understanding of how other species form abstract concepts,” Scagel said. “And we’re learning that humans aren’t that cognitively unique after all.”
So if you teach your pooch how to do this, the possibilities to fill up your phone’s camera roll are endless; you’ll never miss their quirky moments again. For Bored Panda’s earlier renditions of the series, check out more hilarious dog posts here and here.

‘Smile’ Crosses $200 Million Worldwide While ‘Halloween Ends’ Slashes into $100 Million
Horror is currently dominating the box office, with Bloody Disgusting’s own Terrifier 2 scaring up $10 million since its original release one month ago. And that’s just the start, as two other Halloween releases just smashed through big milestones at the box office.
First up, Parker Finn’s Smile has now laughed its way to $202.9 million worldwide, the film released in theaters on September 30 and legging its way through the entire Halloween season. The reported production budget for Smile was a mere $17 million, which means that Paramount Pictures has a MASSIVE hit on their hands with the buzzy original horror title.
Smile has made $99.1 million of its total here in the United States, with $103 million coming from the international box office to date. Congrats to Parker Finn and the whole team!
Another horror movie that’s still in the domestic Top 10 is David Gordon Green’s Halloween Ends, which has to date scared up $63.4 million domestically and $39.4 million internationally.
That brings the worldwide total for Halloween Ends up to $102.9 million as of this writing, and that’s with the third installment in this trilogy also being available on Peacock at home.
For the sake of comparison, Halloween Kills slashed up $133.4 million last year in theaters, with that movie also released day-and-date in theaters and on Peacock as well.
The most important thing? All three horror movies mentioned here – Terrifier 2, Smile, and Halloween Ends – are profitable, so horror wins all around this Halloween and beyond!
The only thing left to do is SMILE…

James Bond actor George Lazenby says Liam Hemsworth is ‘crazy enough’ to take over the role of 007 | Daily Mail Online
James Bond actor George Lazenby believes that Liam Hemsworth is ballsy enough to take on the role of 007.
The gig has been left vacant by the departure of Daniel Craig, 54, from the franchise and Australian actor Lazenby – who played Bond in 1969 – thinks his fellow countryman Liam, 32, is a perfect fit.
The 83-year-old told TMZ this weekend that Aussie star Hemsworth is ‘crazy enough, arrogant enough, confident enough, ambitious enough to take on the role’.

George also said that the new Bond needs to be someone who resides ‘under the Commonwealth’ so an Australian actor fits the bill.
The star added Liam is a ‘good-looking Aussie dude’ and young enough to continue appearing in the series for years to come while retaining his looks.
George previously said he believed that Australian actress Margot Robbie could make a ‘ballsy’ James Bond.

He said at the time he wants the person who replaces Daniel Craig in the spy thriller franchise to be a female.
He has tipped the Birds of Prey star, 32, for the iconic part, saying: ‘I would rather see a woman on screen than a man, so it might be a good idea having a woman play James Bond… Jane Bond. I think it’s a good idea.’
He added: ‘I mean, why not? There’s an Australian actress that I was just listening to on the television today, Margot Robbie. She would be good. She’s ballsy.
Lazenby played the spy in just one film, 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (pictured)
‘She comes across like she’s very confident… if you can pull that off, people will believe you.’
However, James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has insisted she is ‘not interested’ in a female superspy.
Daniel Craig has starred in five of the Bond films, from Casino Royale to No Time to Die, and his exit has created hot competition for the role.

Last week Aaron Taylor-Johnson met with 007 producers amid rumours he’s tipped to be the next James Bond.
The actor, 32, met to discuss the iconic role following Daniel Craig’s exit from the franchise after his fifth appearance as the secret agent in 2021 smash No Time To Die.
According to Puck News Aaron’s sat down with producer Barbara Broccoli and sources claim the meeting went ‘very well’ after he reportedly filmed a secret audition late last year.

Lazenby played the super spy in just one film, 1969’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
By his own admission, he never watched his successors as Bond because he is ‘just not interested’ in the franchise.
The actor, who was also a male model, was at the time the youngest ever actor to play the secret agent, being just 29 years old at the time.

He received a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of 007, but turned down making another Bond film.
Quitting resulted in a career dive for the actor, and for a time he worked in real estate in the 1970s, before making a return to screens.
George will be getting back into the espionage game, starring in an audio series as reluctant spy Dr Jason Love.
