SONEs Claim Hilarious Reasons SNSD Sooyoung ‘Won’t Survive’ Being 4th Gen Idol | KpopStarz

January 23, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Following multiple controversies that 4th-gen idols are getting themselves embroiled in, SONEs brought up SNSD Sooyoung’s past actions that they think most likely wouldn’t make her last as an idol if she debuted in the current era.

SNSD Sooyoung Goes Viral For ‘Queen Behavior’ in Past Fancam

On January 5, Girls’ Generation (SNSD) Sooyoung became a hot topic on the social media platform Twitter after her past clips and actions resurfaced.

On this day, a fan account shared SNSD’s video dancing to “Gee” to commemorate their 14th anniversary since it was released in 2009.

As soon as it was uploaded, the video amassed about 1M views while the post surpassed 2.5 million views, becoming a hot topic among SONEs (SNSD fandom).

In context, the video created a buzz, thanks to Sooyoung for drawing laughter. There, she was standing throughout their “Gee” rehearsal performance, barely dancing. She even had her sunglasses on and blanket, with her expression unbothered.

In contrast, YoonA and Taeyeon were seen dancing enthusiastically in the background.

K-pop fans made various comments on the throwback clip, such as:

SONEs Explain Hilarious Reasons SNSD Sooyoung Won’t Last A Day If She Debuted As 4th-Gen Idol

(Photo : Sooyoung (Instagram courtesy of #legend))

When the video circulated, SONEs thanked Sooyoung for debuting early as a 2nd-gen idol. The reason? Her “Queen behavior,” which was taken as a joke by older fans, might be misunderstood hugely by new fans if she was introduced in the new era.

Seriously, Sooyoung won’t survive a day as a 4th gen idol. Her career will last for only 4 hours 😭 https://t.co/Z4GzBdMq2g

— Dimas ꦣꦶꦩꦱ꧀ (@dimzaladim)

Starting with the viral clip, people claimed that Sooyoung would’ve been canceled for “lazy dancing,” although it was just a rehearsal.

BLACKPINK Jennie, IVE Jang Wonyoung, ITZY Lia and more were all criticized for allegedly dancing lazily, just because they weren’t giving their all on stage.

In fans’ defense, Sooyoung was, at that time, already in her 8th year of career and a member of “Nation’s Girl Group” when the video was taken; thus, she didn’t really have anything to prove regarding her skills.

Omg, a hit tweet lol.

Anyway don’t forget this one as well 😭😭😭 she congratulated Yuri on her birthday but the video was a trash bin with a “Yuri” letter on it. pic.twitter.com/rhzc27nWgG

— Dimas ꦣꦶꦩꦱ꧀ (@dimzaladim)

Fans continued that Sooyoung would probably be kicked out of her group for “bullying” co-members, such as when the idol posted a birthday greeting to Yuri. At the time, Sooyoung posted a recycle bin with the label Yu Ri (translated as glass in Korean), teasing the idol with the same name.

While SONEs brushed this off as a friendly and regular banter between the two, they said that 4th-gen fans would most propbably blow things out of proportions and dig past interactions between the two to create more drama.

However, SONEs commented that with Sooyoung’s unbothered personality, she would probably make 4th-gen fans not last a day instead.

don’t forget this pic.twitter.com/9fAzvzJhoY

— D (@dniiiicole)

In fact, when her “PARTY” fancam went viral for her rehearsal apathy, Sooyoung didn’t bother to explain herself, but rather called out the fan who took the video without their knowledge.

To explain this, rehearsal fancam and videos weren’t popular at the time yet; thus, Sooyoung thought they won’t be filmed.

When a fan stepped out and claimed that it was them who took the video, Sooyoung jokingly responded:

“You’ve got a problem.”

Nitro Revival Photo Galleries: Nostalgia Greatness, Gassers, Nitro Funny Cars, Top Fuel, And More.

January 22, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Here’s our fifth gallery of photos from the Nitro Revival. If you missed any of our previous galleries, use the link below to check them out too!

(Photos by Wes Allison) When the Nitro Revival started a few years ago at Irwindale I was kind of skeptical. Not because the cars or the people involved weren’t legit, but because I questioned the location. While convenient, Irwindale is a small drag strip with a weird layout that is a great spot for a car show but that isn’t always the best for a real race. It turns out that this venue is perfect for this event. Not only does it offer great show space, but the 1/8th mile track is plenty for putting on the kind of show that this event is all about. And with up close grandstands and plenty of fence to hang out on the fans get a great view of all the nitro cars cackling away.

Lucky for us, Wes Allison headed over to shoot photos and man did he get some great stuff. I am talking epic photos that are the kind you’d want to blow up and hang on the wall in your living room. Just look at the sunset in some of these! And those nitro flames, come on.

This event has turned into something truly special and I’m sad I couldn’t be there to check it out in person this year, but once again this show just how hardcore Southern California car culture is and we love it.

Remember that all the photos below will get larger if you click on them and then you can scroll through the entire gallery. We’ve got more coming too!

Queen’s cheeky four-word response to photographer who asked her to smile for him – Mirror Online

January 22, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

A photograph of Queen Elizabeth smiling which was released on the night of her funeral reveals the late monarch’s great wit.

Speaking on the Lorraine programme, photographer Ranald Mackechnie talked about the formerly unseen portrait which was taken in May at Windsor Castle before the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations the next month.

He recalled: “She arrived and walked in and we said hello, then she just looks at me and she goes, ‘What do you want?'”

“I said, ‘Well, I want you to smile and look happy.’

She looked back at me and she goes, ‘Well, you can’t make me.’ “

He continued, “I said, ‘Well, you could try,’ and she giggled.”

Mr Mackechnie added that the Queen had sat for numerous portraits over the years, and she “makes it easy” for the photographer.

She wore a blue outfit and her signature pearls – which were recently worn by Kate Middleton.

The whole ensemble made the monarch’s blue eyes sparkle as she smiled in the portrait.

In a recent BBC documentary, Camilla, the Queen Consort, paid tribute to the Queen, saying: “She’s got those wonderful blue eyes, that when she smiles they light up her whole face.

“I will always remember her smile. That smile is unforgettable.”

Mr Mackechnie was also behind the specially commissioned photograph released to mark the start of the Platinum Jubilee celebration weekend in June.

The portrait was taken in the Victoria Vestibule at Windsor Castle on May 25.

In the background, you can see the Castle’s Round Tower, and the statue of King Charles II, which stands in the Quadrangle of the Castle.

The Queen has had three Jubilee portraits in the past, and the Queen is considerably understated, pictured in a pale blue coatdress and her typical pearls.

On September 19, Queen Elizabeth’s family gathered for her state funeral, committal service and burial, after her death on September 8.

According to People magazine, a source close to the monarch said King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla “will show the nation that the monarchy is still offering stability and an example of service and duty”.

Additionally, Charles’ former press secretary Paddy Haverson claimed the would “apply himself 1,000 percent to the job at hand”.

Box Office Upset: ‘Smile’ Bites Off Big $17.6M as ‘Amsterdam’ Bombs and ‘Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile’ Limps

January 22, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Paramount is grinning widely this weekend as its creepy pic, Smile, continued to stay atop the chart in its sophomore outing with a projected gross of $17.6 million from 3,659 theaters. That’s a decline of just 22 percent, one of the best holds of all time for the horror genre.

The was just as good overseas. Smile earned $17.5 million from 61 markets for a foreign tally of $40 million and a global haul of $88.9 million to make the $17 million a major profit generator.

Smile earned more than enough to beat Sony’s new family  Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which opened to an estimated $11.5 million domestically. Sony expects the movie to benefit from the Indigenous Peoples’ Day holiday on Monday and earn a total of $13.4 million through Monday.

Heading into the weekend, most of Hollywood expected Lyle, Lyle, based on the kids book of the same name, to win the three-day frame, even if narrowly. The film presently has a 68 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and earned an A- CinemaScore from audiences.

Christian Bale Says Taylor Swift’s Voice ‘Gave Me Goosebumps’ On Set of ‘Amsterdam’ Movie

10/09/2022

The bomb of the weekend is David O. Russell’s star-packed film Amsterdam. The mystery-comedy opened to an estimated $6.5 million from 3,005 locations after getting skewered by critics. It currently rests at a 33 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, one of the lowest of the filmmaker’s career, along with stars Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and John David Washington. Audiences gave it a somewhat better ranking of a B CinemaScore.

Amsterdam is a New Regency film distributed by Disney. As reviews started coming in, tracking lowered its projection to $10 million, since the film’s target audience — older adults, and especially older females — are more swayed by critics. However, even $10 million proved to be bullish.

Universal, which made Bros, wasn’t left entirely bereft. Overseas, the studio’s George Clooney-Julia Roberts romantic-comedy Ticket to Paradise crossed the $60 million mark ahead of its domestic debut on Oct. 21.

At one point, box office analysts and exhibitors believed that Lyle, Lyle and Amsterdam could both open in the mid-teens.

The Woman King and Don’t Worry Darling rounded out the top five, followed by the Avatar rerelease.

Sony and eOne’s Woman King placed No. 4 with $5.3 million for a domestic total of $54.1 million. The movie’s early foreign total is $10 million, including $1.5 million from its opening in the U.K., where eOne is distributing.

Warner Bros.’ Don’t Worry Darling followed with $2.5 million for a domestic total of $38.5 million and global cume of $69.3 million.

The 3D rerelease of James Cameron’s Avatar continued to wow, earning $2.6 million for a domestic total of $23.3 million. All told, the release from Disney and 20th Century has grossed $71.9 million globally.

Unlike Smile, Bros was hardly happy in its second weekend. The gay rom-com, directed by Nicholas Stoller and co-written by Billy Eichner, tumbled to No. 6 or No. 7 with an estimated $2.2 million for a 10-day domestic total of $8.9 million (the film fell a hefty 55 percent). Eichner took to Twitter last weekend after the film’s fifth-place opening to say that homophobia was a major reason for the poor showing before encouraging everyone to see the film.

Elsewhere, the awards box office gets underway in earnest as Todd Field’s Tár and Ruben Ostlund’s Palme d’Or winner Triangle of Sadness open in select theaters to promising numbers.

From Focus Features and starring Cate Blanchett, Tár posted the top location average of the weekend and one of the best of the year, or $40,000, as it launched in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles. It was No. 1 in three of the cinemas, including the AMC Lincoln Square in New York and the AMC Grove in L.A.

Triangle of Sadness, from Neon, opted for a wider opening footprint, or 10 locations. The Woody Harrelson-starrer posted a location average of $21,007.
