Kevin Sorbo Just Tried To Mock Liberal Arts Degrees With Joke About Single-Use Plastic—And It Backfired Hard

January 16, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Actor and proud conservative Kevin Sorbo is best known for his roles in Hercules and Andromeda, but recently his controversial tweets have taken over the spotlight.

In the last few years, Sorbo has been called out online for his attacks against trans people including exploiting gun violence to make his dubious point, his pandemic hot takes, his anti-mask public outbursts, his slams against California and his historical inaccuracies.

So Sorbo is no stranger to adverse reactions from his posts. However, his tweet on Labor Day stirred up quite the discord amongst fellow platform users.

Sorbo tweeted:

“40% of all plastic is only used once.”

“It’s kind of like a Liberal Arts degree.”

“40% of all plastic is only used once. It’s kind of like a Liberal Arts degree.”

The backlash was swift.

“@ksorbs That’s funny, Kev. I majored in Chinese history at a proudly liberal arts-only college.
Am now General Counsel of a company, having been Partner at a global law firm. The degree taught me writing, research and critical thinking.”

Chris Meloni Bares It All In Hilarious New Peloton Ad That Has Thirsty Fans Needing A Cold Shower

January 16, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Christopher Meloni is the proud owner of some of TVs most talked-about cakes—no we don’t mean the baked kind—and his recent Peloton ad is reminding the world why.

We’re talking bum cakes, people, and Meloni’s are TV legends in and of themselves.

Vintage ass-ficionados know Meloni has been on television pretty consistently since the 1980s, but his ample ending didn’t really hit big until the 90s.

The actor stepped into the role of Chris Keller in OZ, an HBO drama about life in a maximum security prison.

The award winning show was gritty and graphic, characters often finding themselves naked and vulnerable in a world of near-constant sex and violence.

We got to know Meloni’s body well as Keller and the familiarity has continued in his role as Elliot Stabler through multiple Law & Order shows.

There are about four decades of love between audiences and the sexy sexagenarian, so by now Meloni is well aware of the thirst.

He’s been playing into the joke for a while, often sharing thirst tweets and purposefully striking gratuitously bootylicious poses.

His recent Peloton ad totally takes the cake(s), though.

The spot highlights all the great ways you can use the app, even if you don’t have a Peloton bike. Zaddy Meloni walks viewers through some of them with his usual chill charm.

He just …. happens to be naked while doing it.

Peloton, very aware of what they’re doing, called attention to Meloni’s great … app.

Twitter, also very aware of what they’re doing, went straight to thirst mode.

And they’re not even sorry about it.

So yeah, we have him to thank for all of this and somehow, that makes perfect sense.

Hats off to you, fellas.

You sure know how to market a truly great… app.

“A constitutional joke”: Jamie Raskin destroys Republicans’ 2nd Amendment fantasy | Salon.com

January 15, 2023 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Rep Jamie Raskin, D-MD, went off on Republicans for their “insurrectionist view” of the Second Amendment during Wednesday’s House Judiciary Committee hearing on a bill that would ban assault weapons.

The proposed legislation, introduced in March 2021, would ban the sale, manufacturing, and importation of certain automatic weapons, in addition to high-capacity ammunition magazines, which allow guns to send quickly off 10 rounds of ammunition. The proposed bill was resurfaced weeks after a series of deadly mass shootings, in Buffalo, NY, Uvalde, TX, and most recently at a fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Ill.

Raskin began his speech by attacking Texas Congressman Chip Roy’s reasoning for why an assault ban would be unconstitutional.

“My friend from Texas, Mr. Roy, advances the so-called insurrectionist view of the second amendment, that the second amendment’s purpose is to give the people the right to overthrow or fight our government or fight the police or threaten armed resistance if the government is somehow being unfair or unjust,” Raskin said. “This reading is totally and absolutely absurd and flies in the face of the place text of the constitution.”

A clip of Raskin’s speech already has 53k likes on Twitter, only hours after it was first posted.

Raskin went on to read two sections of the Constitution, Article IV Section 4, and Article III Section 3, which classify armed resistance against the government as “domestic violence” and “treason.”

He then invalidated the “insurrectionist view” of the Second Amendment, which Roy argued stems from a speech by Founding Father Patrick Henry in 1778, in which Henry argued for individuals to have the right to bear arms to defend “public liberty.”

“That’s not constitutional law, that’s a constitutional joke,” Raskin rebutted.

Raskin’s correction of the record holds even more significance within the context of the ongoing January 6th hearings regarding former President Donald Trump’s role in the violent insurrection against the capitol, in which Raskin has played a big role. On the day of the riot, protesters were armed with weapons ranging from baseball bats to assault rifles.

Raskin concluded that even former conservative Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who subscribed to an originalist view of the Constitution, agreed that the Second Amendment did not protect the right for anyone to carry an assault rifle in any case, as he articulated in the District of Columbia v. Heller decision.

“We’re not telling them to repeal the Second Amendment, we’re telling them to read the Second Amendment,” he said.

Oliver Kahn insists he has ‘the utmost respect’ for Barcelona after appearing to laugh at them | Daily Mail Online

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn insists he has ‘the utmost respect’ for Barcelona after appearing to laugh at them… after the former goalkeeper was slammed for his reaction at the Champions League group stage draw

Oliver Kahn has responded to claims that he was mocking Barcelona after he was spotted smiling after his Bayern Munich were drawn alongside them at the Champions League draw on Thursday.

The Bavarian club’s CEO appeared amused as the Bundesliga outfit learned their fate, which prompted an irate response from Spanish outlet Sport.

The media mouthpiece of Barca claimed it was an ‘unusual response’ from the former Germany goalkeeper, but he has since responded to the claims.

Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn appeared to laugh as his side were drawn against Barcelona

Catalonian outlet Sport have claimed that Kahn lacks ‘respect’ following the draw reaction

As reported by German publication BILD, Kahn has responded by saying: ‘This interpretation has come completely out of nowhere.

Xavi’s side have only beaten Bayern twice in the Champions League

‘Robert Lewandowski left us for FC Barcelona just a few weeks ago, now the lot brings us back together in the phase of Champions League groups.

‘I smiled at such rarities of football. I have the utmost respect for Robert and FC Barcelona, these matches will be a celebration for fans of both teams and football fans in general.’

In a group also containing Italian giants Inter Milan and Czech side Viktoria Plzen, the Bavarians will surely go into the competition as favourite to come out of the group on top.

Barca are a different side to the one that limped out of the tournament and into the Europa League last season, with Lewandowski just one of several notable additions to that group.

But the German champions have a strong Champions League record against the Blaugrana – having won eight of their 11 clashes in the competitions – including of course the infamous 8-2 drubbing in 2020.

Bayern also beat Barcelona 3-0 both home and away during the group stages of last season’s competition.

Robert Lewandowski is Bayern’s all-time tournament top scorer and will face his former side

Kahn’ commented on football’s ‘rarities’ which see him face his former talisman Lewandowski

And although he was excited to begin the campaign, Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann remained cautious of his opponents, saying: ‘It is a very demanding group and full of challenges.

‘Inter has strengthened itself again well. This is a club that has already celebrated many international successes and has regained strength in recent years. With Barcelona, of course, the history with Lewy is already prescribed.

‘I hope we can achieve results similar to those of the last few years against Barça. Plzen are the Czech champions. We can’t wait to start.’

The Champions League draw puts comparative minnows Viktoria Plzen in the ‘group of death’
