The actor joked about a ‘La Brea’ and ‘Chicago’ franchise crossover that would be out-of-this-world.
Jon Seda is currently saving lives and fighting for his survival as Dr. Samuel Velez on La Brea, but fans of his old show, Chicago P.D., continue to feel the loss of Detective Antonio Dawson.
But based on a recent tweet from Seda, a return to the crime procedural drama isn’t entirely out of the question, far-fetched it may be.
The exchange started when a fan tweeted at Seda, “@JonSeda @WolfEnt Pretty Please? ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS ANTONIO Back on #ChicagoPd Please? See lights Already on the ceiling of Molly’s. #ChicagoPd.”
In response, Seda wrote, “Maybe there’s a portal that leads to Chicago? #crossover #LaBrea #onechicago @nbc.”
While Chicago P.D. and La Brea don’t have anything in common, theyare both on NBC, and considering the network’s successful history of crossovers, it’s not that wild of a thought, especially with all the sinkholes opening up and the time traveling machine on La Brea.
Though improbable, fans loved Seda’s tease, with one person replying, “OMG! This is the best answer. I’d definitely watch that crossover.”
Another didn’t want to get too excited about the possibility, writing, “Don’t tease me like that.”
“As much as I love seeing you on La Brea, it would make my day if you returned to chicago PD!!!,” said third fan.
Seda tagged NBC in the response, so with any luck, this newfound dream could come true. Or, at the very least, the powers at be would be aware at just how eager the fans are to see Antonio return for an episode, and how willing Seda is to pay a visit to his old stomping grounds
At the end of his run on Chicago P.D., Seda’s character Antonio went off to Puerto Rico to get help with his drug addiction. By giving his character this storyline, the show left an opening for Antonio to return at any point. And with Jesse Lee Soffer’s exit this season, fans wouldn’t mind seeing a familiar face.
With the crazy world of La Brea, anything could happen. While Chicago P.D. is definitely more based in reality, fans could probably accept a little bit of strangeness to have Seda back on screen with their other favorites.
