Rams WR Cooper Kupp is Eli Apple’s daddy according to hilarious Wikipedia edit

October 24, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Cooper Kupp, Eli APple, Rams

Eli Apple has slowly become one of NFL Twitter’s most hated players (along with some players). The Cincinnati Bengals cornerback made headlines for his incessant trash talking on Twitter. So when Cooper Kupp and the Los Angeles Rams destroyed the Bengals during Super Bowl 56, fans decided to mess with Apple one more time.

Right after the Rams’ Super Bowl win, Stephen Nelson noted a hilarious change in Eli Apple’s Wikipedia page, with someone editing his father to be Cooper Kupp. Fans are absolutely ruthless when it comes to roasting their least favorite players.

whew, somebody was QUICK to Eli Apple’s Wikipedia 😂 #SuperBowl pic.twitter.com/A2WO8PXqht

Other edits on Apple’s page were less… subtle. These likely came from salty Bengals fans rather than gloating Rams fans.

— ControversialCanadian (@ContCanadi) February 14, 2022

Eventually, Apple’s Wikipedia page was locked by moderators due to “vandalism”. A quick look at his Wikipedia page now shows no mention of the Rams star receiver being his father.

Kupp, the 2021 Offensive Player of the Year, took Apple and the Bengals secondary to school in the game. The Rams star receiver was unstoppable on the open field, with his elusiveness and guile making him hard to defend. His connection with Matthew Stafford led to many beautiful catches and touchdowns for the team.

After starting off on Eastern Washington’s scout team, Kupp has made himself one of the NFL’s brightest stars, with a ring to show for it. Apple, on the other hand, has not been the first-round talent people expected out of him. The Rams star dominating Apple is one of the biggest storylines of this big Super Bowl win.

72 Funny “Relatable Tweets” And Memes Shared In This Online Group

October 23, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

As writer Jeremy D. Larson beautifully put it, relatability is the chief psychological lubricant that glides us thoughtlessly down the endless social media feeds.

One place that seems to have plenty of this substance is Twitter. But with 6,000 tweets made every second (or 350,000 per minute and 500 million per day), it can be easy to miss the good stuff the platform has to offer.

Luckily, there’s a subreddit called r/RelatableTweets, an online community dedicated exclusively to collecting those which perfectly describe the human experience, be it through work, dating, or other key areas of everyday life.

Here’s what its members have gathered so far.

Why Ron Johnson drew laughter from a Wisconsin debate audience

October 23, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

By any fair measure, last night’s debate between Republican Sen. Ron Johnson and Democratic Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes was not a friendly affair. At one point, for example, the candidates were asked to say something they admire about their opponent. Johnson responded by attacking Barnes’ patriotism.

There were audible boos from the Milwaukee audience.

But it was an exchange about Russia that stood out for me. USA Today reported:

Barnes criticized Johnson for once calling Russian President Vladimir Putin “a smart guy” and charged that the senator was told by the FBI that he could be a target for Russian disinformation…. Johnson countered by accusing the FBI of “setting him up” with a “corrupt” briefing.

Even for those who’ve followed the Republican senator’s career, this might’ve seemed a little obscure, so let’s take a minute to review the underlying controversy.

After years of indifference about then-Vice President Joe Biden’s efforts in Ukraine, congressional Republicans decided — right around the time the Delaware Democrat locked up his party’s presidential nomination — this was an area of potential controversy.

Johnson — who chaired the Senate Homeland Security Committee at the time — helped take the lead in the search for anti-Biden dirt, and a Russian agent claimed he fed information to the senator. Asked in 2020 whether he’d possibly relied on information from Kremlin-backed sources, the Wisconsin Republican evaded direct questions.

It was around this time, we later learned, that the FBI gave Johnson a private briefing. The senator acknowledged the briefing to The Washington Post, conceding that he’d been “a target of Russian disinformation.”

Instead of taking the matter seriously, the GOP lawmaker appears to have largely ignored the warning, telling the Post he found the briefing “completely useless.”

In other words, the then-chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee may have been targeted by the Kremlin, while the senator was seeking dirt on the future American president. When the FBI delivered a private warning, Johnson — who famously spent the 4th of July in Moscow a few years ago — thought the smart move would be to disregard the FBI’s concerns.

When this came up in last night’s debate, Johnson, whose affinity for weird conspiracy theories has long been among his more unsettling qualities, peddled another conspiracy theory.

“The FBI set me up with a corrupt briefing and then leaked that to smear me,” the Republican declared. The incumbent added that he’s been “trying to uncover and expose” what he sees as “corruption” within the FBI.

As the video from the event shows, some in the audience found this so odd that they literally laughed at Johnson’s comments — and as a rule, when voters laugh at a candidate during a debate, that’s far from ideal.

To the extent that reality still has any meaning, Johnson’s newest conspiracy theory — the FBI, the federal government’s most politically conservative agency, gave him a “corrupt” private briefing about Russians targeting him — is extremely difficult to take seriously.

Indeed, the FBI’s concerns seemed entirely warranted. A Russian agent really did claim he’d fed information to the senator while Johnson really was seeking anti-Biden dirt related to Ukraine. Asked in 2020 whether he’d possibly relied on information from Kremlin-backed sources, the Wisconsin Republican really did evade direct questions.

I can appreciate why all of this still makes the senator uncomfortable, but the idea that the FBI deliberately conspired against a key Republican committee chair, years before a re-election campaign that he hadn’t yet announced, seems pretty outlandish.

Crazy record proves Warriors star Stephen Curry is the GOAT shooter

October 22, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

The Golden State Warriors trounced the Chicago Bulls, 119-93, behind another helluva performance from Stephen Curry. Fans inside Chase Center were treated to a historical night as Curry became the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made—regular season and playoffs combined.

The Warriors superstar played head and shoulders above everyone en route to scoring 40 points with nine 3-pointers to boot. It was the 36th game where Curry had at least nine makes from downtown, widening the already-massive gap between him at No. 1 and those at No. 2 in James Harden and Damian Lillard.

Curry is already regarded as the greatest shooter to play in the NBA. But for those in the microscopic population who still doubt the Warriors point guard, this only proves that they are dead wrong. The other half of the Warriors’ Splash Brothers hold several shooting records. In fact, Curry already broke some of his own marks.

This puts basketball fans in a state of awe over Curry’s body of work. At 33 years old, he is not showing signs of slowing down.

The NBA’s second-leading scorer, as of writing, with an average of 28.4 points per game, Curry has guided Golden State to the top of the team standings. The Warriors notched their 11th win in 12 games on Friday night, and they are doing all these without All-Star Klay Thompson.

Thompson is expected to return soon, so the idea of him bolstering an already-powerful squad must be sending chills to the rest of the NBA.
