The Unintentionally Hilarious Anti-Tucker Term Paper

October 6, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

The New York Times has been alarmed by the existence of the Fox News Channel since it debuted in 1996. It developed a special fear and loathing of Bill O’Reilly when he hosted the top show in cable news. And now the paper is at it again, attacking Tucker Carlson.

On Sunday and Monday, the Times published almost 20,000 words of “investigative reporting” on Carlson’s show “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” announcing it’d watched 1,150 episodes and chronicled all the guests and the messages and the monologues. This should be defined as “opposition research.”

The overwrought thesis of Times reporter Nicholas Confessore, who is an MSNBC political analyst (no conflict there!), is Carlson dominates in the ratings because he is “weaponizing fears and grievances” on “what may be the most racist show in the history of cable news.”

There are obvious reasons why this massive term paper sounds laughable to half of America. There’s Confessore going on Joy Reid’s TV show “The ReidOut” on May 2 to complain about “weaponizing fears and grievances,” like Reid could never, ever be accused of such a thing.

Reid said Carlson was just like Rush Limbaugh, always saying, “Black people are coming for you. The brown people are coming for you. The immigrants are coming for you. They’re taking your stuff.” That’s not an exact quote—because Reid never needs one. She’s not a journalist.

The Times reporter also appeared on Nicolle Wallace’s “Deadline: White House” show. Wallace announced, “I’m shocked at how committed to polarizing the country at every heated moment he is.” MSNBC never polarizes the country?

Confessore proclaimed, “On Tucker’s show, everything is terrible. They’re out to get you because they hate you. They want to destroy you. Those are his words … It’s you/they, you/they every night. The repetition is part of the technique.”

Does anyone with a TV think MSNBC doesn’t use this formula? Let’s consider a few unfavorites from 2021. On Wallace’s show, professor Jason Johnson denounced Republicans: “They don’t care who they have to sacrifice—whether that’s people in central Texas having to die over COVID or police officers in the Capitol—they don’t care who dies. They don’t care if it’s kids in Sandy Hook.”

On Reid’s show, professor Michael Eric Dyson claimed, “These are the kind of people who would pass a law to keep Jesus from getting a cup of water while he’s dying on the cross.” Reid replied, “Sad but true.”

But MSNBC is appalled by divisive talk shows. The New York Times is against “stoking fear” on cable news.

The charts in this “investigative” report were unintentionally hilarious. Carlson’s show is an “echo chamber,” as the number of opposing guests has declined dramatically in the last two years. How many “guests who disagreed with Joy Reid” does she welcome? Nicolle Wallace? Rachel Maddow? Even their “Republican” guests nod along in the echo chamber.

It’s also funny that the Times is shocked that Carlson’s “monologues have grown longer,” now typically lasting more than 10 minutes, with one June 2020 show featuring a 26-minute monologue. Have these people ever watched Maddow’s show?

The Times loves MSNBC. Back in 2018, it published a puff piece titled “How Joy Reid of MSNBC Became a Heroine of the Resistance.” In 2019, the Times published a valentine headlined “This Is the Moment Rachel Maddow Has Been Waiting For.” It touted people hosting a “Maddow-themed birthday party.”

So you may laugh heartily because Wallace said Confessore’s massive takedown attempt is “an objective analysis of every show” Carlson has done.

Tokyo Olympics 2020: Kaylee McKeown lets loose in hilarious TV interview after 100m backstroke gold medal | 7NEWS

October 4, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Capping off the toughest 12 months of her life with a gold medal in Olympic record time, Kaylee McKeown paid tribute to her late father with a kiss.

Then she could finally let loose. What message might the 20-year-old want to send to mum Sharon and her Olympian sister Taylor back home in Australia?

Only two words would suffice: “F*** YEAH!”

McKeown quickly realised what she had said live on Channel 7, covering her masked mouth and offering an “oh s***” to apologise.

“Swearing on TV! I’ll have a word to her later,” Sharon joked.

But nobody could begrudge the Olympic debutant her moment in the sun after winning the 100m backstroke final.

Her father Sholto lost his battle against brain cancer last August, less than two years after he was first diagnosed.

“I hope you’re proud and I’ll keep doing you proud,” Kaylee said poolside on Tuesday.

Picking herself up and committing to the delayed Olympics after Sholto’s death, McKeown dedicated her world record at the June trials to dad.

“I use it every day that I wake up,” McKeown said last month.

“I know it’s a privilege to be on this earth and walk and talk.”

A tattoo that reads “I will always be with you” sits on McKeown’s foot as a lifetime reminder of her father.

Family and friends watched the final in Noosa with a kangaroo named Sholto, a gift from their swimming family, in their arms.

“He was here and she always knows that dad’s watching over her,” Sharon told Channel 7.

Rio 2016 silver medallist and 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Taylor, who burst into tears and was speechless after the victory, paid a heartfelt tribute to her resilient sister.

“Kaylee’s taken it in her stride, come back better, faster, fitter stronger than ever,” Taylor said of the family’s heartache and Tokyo 2020 delay.

“The hardship’s done. This is the easy part now and she’s up there really enjoying racing.

“This is an absolute testament to her and her hard work.

“You can ask anyone in her training group and anyone on the swim team – Kaylee’s a hard worker, she’ll push herself till she vomits and just an absolute animal. Good on her.”
