Comedy could come off as a craft which is usually hard to learn. Unlike other activities like football, singing, and even acting, intentionally trying to make people laugh has been considered by many people as a natural talent reserved for few. But for Enorense ‘Kiriku’ Victor, making people laugh has become his way of life.

Kiriku

Kiriku, a seven-year-old Nigerian comedian and online content creator, debuted in the entertainment scene at the age of four. Funny and witty, Kiriku appears to have the precise word to say to suit any particular situation, and it didn’t take long before his talent caught the attention of Nigerians.

Born on December 17, 2014, Kiriku is from Benin, Edo State. He is best known for his brother’s comedy, DE Umbrellaboy, which has millions of weekly views on social media. In the space of three years, Kiriku is gradually cementing his place as a household name, entertaining millions of Nigerians with his skits.

With his iconic comedy signature, ‘Oga Shift’, the kid comedian, portrays street life in its true form..

Whatever Kiriku has achieved in the short time he broke into the skit industry, he never failed to credit his elder brother Destiny Enorense (Umbrella Boy) who is also a skit maker and comedian for contributing to his big break by offering him the platform to shine.

He gained prominence in 2021 when popular blogger Tunde Ednut posted his skit on his Instagram handle. This helped propel Kiriku to stardom as he has continued to amass a lot of followers.

His rich and funny content has earned him the place as one of Nigeria’s most talented kid comedians.

Through street competitions, he amplified his skills and showed an unusual audacity that portrays street life.

Kiriku has appeared in the skits of some of the big names in Nigeria’s skit industry, such as Oga Sabinus, Broda Shaggi, Adeyemi Elesho, Sir Balo, and Cute Abiola, among others.

As his popularity grew, he began to land endorsement deals with top brands like DPrince Builders, Homewin NG, PU Exchange etc.

On July 1, 2022, Kiriku was announced winner of the NET Honours 2022 Breakout Content Creator, his very first award since he came to the limelight.

“I can’t really express how I feel right now,” the excited 7-year-old said when he was announced the category winner with other nominees like Oga Sabinus and Broda Shaggi.

A career that began less than four years ago, Kiriku has featured in movies like Tom and Jerry 1.

Kiriku has the talent, the zeal and passion for making exploit in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, and with age on his side, many believe he is worth keeping an eye on.
