50 Times Tinder Matches Sent Such Awkward And Hilarious Messages, People Had To Submit Them To This Instagram Account

July 26, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Whether it’s cringe-worthy conversations or dates that have gone terribly wrong, things can get pretty weird on Tinder. After all, people there tend to judge others based on looks and, for some reason, write stuff they wouldn’t (hopefully) say in person. Swiping left or right has made meeting singles quite easy, and everyone is bound to have at least one odd adventure on the app.

Enter Tinder Nightmares, an Instagram account dedicated to sharing screenshots of some of the most awkward and hilarious interactions taking place on the platform. More than 1.9M followers submit their downright bizarre encounters to remind others that they’re not alone in this dating maze.

We have collected some of the worst Tinder openers the account had to offer. Just to warn you, some of them might make you want to delete the app. So continue scrolling and upvote the ones you enjoyed most! Also, be sure to share with us your own pick-up lines in the comment section below.

If you ever tried looking for your significant other through an app, you know it can be a long and time-consuming process. To better understand the world of online romance, we reached out to dating coach Hayley Quinn, who helps both men and women build their confidence, make friends, and get their mojo back.

“Online dating has given people the opportunity to meet and date far more people than they would have been able to do in real life,” she told Bored Panda. Additionally, it’s also been “a valuable lifeline for singles during the pandemic.”

Yet, she wonders if all these choices are a good thing. “Some people argue that dating apps have made people not want commitment,” she said. “In my opinion, dating apps aren’t good or evil, they just reflect social trends and people’s behavior. So if you’re not getting what you want from dating apps, look at how you’re interacting with the app first before you decide they don’t work!”

Meeting people online has its perks, especially for many “time-poor young professionals.” Often, this is the only way they can go out with someone. “If you live in a geographically remote area, [dating apps] also give you the ability to meet and interact with people,” Quinn added. “Meeting in real life does have some advantages though: your dates are likely to be less flakey, and have more in common with you, particularly if you met through friends.”

While searching for your dream partner online, it’s easy to get hung up on a person’s description or the way they look. “However, what’s more important than looks for long-term happiness is how someone interacts with you: are they consistent? Is it easy to communicate with them? Do they make time for you in the real world, or are they more interested in getting followers on social media?”

“We’ve all had nightmarish dating experiences, so rest assured you’re not alone, and don’t create the belief that because a bad experience happened once that it will happen again,” the dating coach continued. “When you’re dating online, be careful of how much information you reveal before you get to know someone,” she explained how most apps now allow people to make video calls or do virtual speed dating before meeting in person.

“This might be safer than sending them your phone number. Always meet in a public place and tell a friend what your plans are. If you regularly don’t click with your dates, try to have a video chat in the app to check out the chemistry before committing to meet them IRL,” Hayley Quinn advised.

James Preece, also known as The Dating Guru, said that people should look at dating apps like Match or Tinder simply as a tool: “Your success comes only through using them the right way.” He told Bored Panda that most people upload the first photos they find in their galleries and only write a few sentences about themselves “because they aren’t sure what to do.”

“This can become a real challenge as you’ll only see similar low-quality profiles. There are a lot of timewasters on the apps, so it can be tough to wade through them and realize who might be worth your time.”

When it comes to choosing between online or offline dating, he recommended trying everything. “Online dating is fast and something you can do from your home and without having to approach anyone,” he noted. “This limits the risk of rejection but also means people can hide behind their phone.”

Meanwhile, participating in events, singles parties, and meeting face to face “can allow a much higher chance of a connection.” Such encounters have a higher cost and require more effort from both dates. “A mixture of both online and offline is going to boost your chances as you are taking some form of action,” Preece said.

If you want to meet a great match on Tinder, there are some things you should keep in mind. “You have to market yourself the right way,” the dating guru advised. “If you just do it half-heartedly then you’ll only have below average results. Never forget that your profile is an advert for you.” So try to make it clear what your expectations are and what dating you might be like.

Still, if you’ve had too many nightmarish experiences and ended up feeling frustrated with the app, Preece mentioned there are two things you need to do. “Firstly, give it a break and consider deleting the account and starting again. This time round, use great photos and make a full effort on a different app with a different database.”

Next, you can always consider getting help from experienced dating coaches. “We can help put the fun back into the whole experience by shortcutting the process and showing you how to use the apps the right way.”

“If you end up interacting with horrific people, then please make sure you report them to the site. That way, they’ll remove them and stop others from having the same bad experience as you. Most people will be nice, but if everyone stands up against the losers and helps each other, the apps will be more productive,” James Preece concluded.

‘No Excuse For A Silent Coup’: Sunny Hostin Says Trump May Be Crazy, But He’s Right To Call Milley’s Actions ‘Treason’ | The Daily Caller

July 26, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Sunny Hostin said Wednesday that although she believed former President Donald Trump posed a risk to the country, Joint Chiefs Chairman Mark Milley had overstepped his boundaries.

Hostin said on ABC’s “The View” that if Milley had gone outside the chain of command to warn China about Trump’s erratic behavior, as reported in Bob Woodward and Robert Costa’s new book “Peril,” the former president was right to call those actions “treason.” (Forget Voter ID — ‘The View’ Host Sunny Hostin Wants To Mandate IDs For Social Media Use)

WATCH:

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg introduced the topic, saying, “Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Milley was worried – so worried about you-know-whose mental state after his election loss, he thought he might launch a nuclear strike. And so he went and called the Chinese military to assure them that they were safe. Now you-know-who is saying that never happened, that he was never planning to drop any bombs and says if he actually contacted China, the general committed treason.”

“I think that you break command in that way, you are committing treason. You’re going outside of the chain of command,” Hostin agreed. “I mean, I worked for the government for many years. It is sacrosanct to go within the chain of command.”

Hostin said that she knows what Milley allegedly did was intended to prevent a war, but that wasn’t enough. “I think the former twice disgraced – twice-impeached, former disgraced president was perfectly capable of starting a nuclear war after his loss, but I think there’s just no excuse for a silent coup which I think that’s what that is,” she said.

“The whole time Trump was president, I was home saying, please, God, make there be an adult who controls this lunatic,” Joy Behar replied, saying that she blamed all the cabinet members who saw his behavior and chose not to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him from office. “I was praying. Let there be somebody in the room who holds his arm back had he hits that – goes to that button.”

“God bless General Milley for straightening things out. I know that the chain of command is sacrosanct, I understand that, but this was an emergency. We had a certifiable nut case in the White House,” Behar concluded to applause and cheers from the audience.

Comedian shunned by ‘SNL’ gets the last laugh

July 25, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Stand-up comedian Shane Gillis received the best news of his up-and-coming comedy career on Sept. 12, 2019. Gillis beat out hundreds of fellow comedians to be named as one of the handful of featured cast members on “Saturday Night Live.” Four days later, Gillis was fired from “SNL” after it was reported that he made racist remarks during an episode of his “Matt & Shane’s Secret Podcast.” However, Shane Gillis is getting the last laugh.

Shane Gillis had been performing stand-up comedy since 2012, but was shunned from the “SNL” stage because he did an impersonation of a racist and using hateful language for a joke during a podcast. Gillis has been a well-known example of cancel culture.

“After talking with Shane Gillis, we have decided that he will not be joining ‘SNL,'” an NBC spokesperson said in a statement.

In a since-deleted tweet, Gillis reacted to his abrupt firing by saying, “It feels ridiculous for comedians to be making serious public statements but here we are.”

“I’m happy to apologize to anyone who’s actually offended by anything I’ve said,” Gillis wrote. “My intention is never to hurt anyone but I am trying to be the best comedian I can be and sometimes that requires risks.”

“I’m a comedian who was funny enough to get on ‘SNL.’ That can’t be taken away,” he said. “Of course, I wanted an opportunity to prove myself at ‘SNL’ but it would be too much of a distraction. I respect the decision they made. I am honestly grateful for the opportunity.”

“I was always a ‘MAD TV’ guy anyway,” Gillis joked.

Shane Gillis has rebounded from the “SNL” dismissal by creating his own sketch comedy series on YouTube with fellow comedian John McKeever. The comedy skit show is titled “Gilly and Keeves.” The first season features 12 sketches such as “Trump Speed Dating,” “ISIS Toyota,” “Militia Funeral,” “Uncle Daycare,” and “The Last White Football Team.”

On Sept. 7, the talented stand-up comedian released his very first comedy special, “Shane Gillis Live in Austin.” Within 10 days, the comedy special received over 1 million views on YouTube.

Gillis, who is an equal-opportunity comic, doesn’t choose sides and pokes fun of the political left and right. He masterfully finds the hilarity in the culture war while creating humor at everyone’s expense.

Gillis gets confused about politics when he ventures on social media where he sees political hot takes from his conservative family from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, versus his “new woke white friends” and “communists from Brooklyn.”

Gillis attempts to do a tightrope when broaching the topic of former Donald Trump. Where a majority of comedians instantly seethe and tell the same tired anti-Trump jokes, Gillis actually attempts to get laughs from jokes involving Trump instead of pandering to a liberal audience and seeking approval through nods from the crowd. He asks the crowd, “Has enough time passed that we can finally admit that Trump was funny?”

He has a hilarious skit about his father, who watches Fox News religiously and becomes angry at Nancy Pelosi and Mr. Potato Head becoming gender-neutral.

Gillis tells other personal stories, including one about his sister being a heroin addict during his special. He successfully balances the humanity of the dilemma while still mining the humor out of a potentially tragic situation. In addition, he relives the time when he volunteered as a basketball coach for the Special Olympics.

The edgy, but clever Gillis pushes several boundaries throughout the special and tackles dark subjects, which might not be for everyone, but Shane doesn’t care because he is doing his comedy his way.
