Biden Has Inappropriate Outburst of Laughter When Confronted by Reporter on Afghanistan, Bad Poll Numbers

May 3, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Is President Joe Biden taking his job seriously?

Many of us are asking that question in light of the Taliban’s Afghanistan takeover (during which Biden fled Washington for another vacation) — not to mention amid the COVID crisis, rising inflation, record job vacancies and more.

In light of it all, it’s easy to see why his poll numbers are slipping.

But when CBS reporter Ed O’Keefe pressed Biden on the Taliban and these slipping poll numbers, giving him the chance to redeem himself at least a little during a mini-news conference from the White House’s Roosevelt Room on Sunday, what does he do?

He laughs it off, of course.

Trending:

“Because the United States is now negotiating with the Taliban over airport access and such, do you now trust them?” O’Keefe asked.

He then followed up his question with another. At this point, Biden was smirking a little.

“And then, a question on the public response. A new poll out today shows Americans wanted to withdraw from Afghanistan, but they disapprove of the way you’ve handled it.

“The poll also found that based in part on what’s transpired in the last week, the majority of Americans and, forgive me, I’m just the messenger, no longer consider you to be ‘competent, focused or effective in the job.’”

Do you think Biden is taking his job seriously?

Biden cracked a grin during O’Keefe’s spiel, and, once he finished, said, “I haven’t seen that poll.”

“It’s out there,” O’Keefe assured him. “From CBS this morning.”

To which Biden responded with a dismissive headshake and callous, patronizing laughter.

Is this a joke, a game to him? Are Americans his game pieces?

It really should come as no surprise considering his closest comrade — Vice President Kamala Harris — displayed her own concern for the Afghanistan crisis by laughing.

At his insistent dismissal, O’Keefe fired his next question: “What would you say to those Americans who no longer believe you are fit for the job?”

“Look, I had a basic decision to make,” Biden responded. “I either withdraw America from a 20-year war that, depending whose analysis you accept, cost us $150 million dollars a day for 20 years or $300 million dollars a day for 20 years.”

He went on to discuss the wounded and the casualties suffered during the war, a red herring response considering he could have easily discussed why the Afghan pull-out was so poorly executed instead of why it was executed in the first place.

Some commenters on the video thread even seared him for the fallacy.

“Ending the war and withdrawing is not the problem. It’s how [he] did it backward and wrong,” one said.

“What a inept response… no one is saying we should stay… but what the h*** is he talking about? Bottom line.. you don’t pull out the military until after the Civilians are out!” another said.

The New York Post’s Miranda Devine also remarked that the problem lies with “the incompetence of the withdrawal,” rather than the withdrawal itself, citing “the premature closure of Bagram Air Base, placing our troops in an impossible position, needlessly endangering lives of American citizens and Afghan allies, and leaving billions of dollars of weaponry in the hands of our enemies.”

Devine also referenced Biden’s flawed logic that pulling out of the country would’ve proved difficult regardless of circumstance.

“The evacuation of thousands of people from Kabul is going to be hard and painful no matter when it started,” Devine quoted Biden as saying. “It would have been true if we had started a month ago, or a month from now.”

The pundit went on to call the president’s claim “pure gaslighting,” and saying, “of course it would have made a difference if the evacuation had been done while the US military still held Bagram, before the Taliban took Kabul. Whom is he kidding?”

I second her opinion, and I’m sure many others would as well.

But Biden maintains that his move — regardless of its poor execution — was the best decision he could’ve made.

“I think that history’s gonna record this was the logical, rational and right decision to make,” he said later in his response.

I daresay the polls tell a different story.

O’Keefe’s question was one of the four that Biden answered during the briefing, which occurred exactly one week after Kabul tragically fell to the Taliban.

Since that Sunday, we’ve seen heart-wrenching images of the still-escalating tragedy: U.S. diplomats frantically evacuating the Kabul embassy, Afghan citizens clinging to planes and falling to their deaths and those who’ve been left behind as the collateral of this conflict crying in the wake of Islamic militant oppression.

No, Biden can’t laugh this one off.

But that won’t stop him from trying.

Erling Haaland posed in Arsenal kit as a kid as Gunners fans joke ‘he’s coming home’ with striker set to leave Dortmund

May 3, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

ARSENAL fans have been sent wild after an old picture of Erling Haaland in a Gunners kit was posted on social media.

The 21-year-old sensation is set to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer for a bargain £64million.

Haaland is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer[/caption]

Manchester City appear to be in pole position for his signature, with Haaland reportedly jetting to Monaco for talks with agent Mino Raiola on Sunday.

But an old photo posted to Twitter by Football.London’s Chris Wheatley has caused quite the stir among Arsenal fans.

In the snap Haaland can be seen wearing a yellow Gunners away kit with matching shorts.

The kit is dated from the 2010-11 season, and was also used as the away kit for the next two campaigns, but it’s unknown when the picture was taken.

Nevertheless some fans have joked it’s a sign that Haaland could be heading to the Emirates this summer.

Especially with the club on the lookout for a striker due to Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah’s impending departures.

One excited supporter wrote on social media: “He’s coming home then.”

Meanwhile another said: “He’s a Gooner through and through.”

Others called for Haaland’s Norway team-mate Martin Odegaard to help get a deal over the line, with one writing: “Agent Odegaard.”

Unfortunately for Arsenal fans, Haaland has also been pictured in various other kits over the years.

Last year the goal machine was spotted wearing Leeds United shorts as he signed fans for autographs.

And the fact some reports suggest Haaland has already agreed a move to Manchester City also dampen Arsenal’s chances of making the signing.

Amber Heard Admitted To Leaving Poop In Bed, Called It ‘Horrible Practical Joke,’ Security Guard Testifies

May 2, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Amber Heard admitted to leaving poop in her and ex-husband Johnny Depp’s bed after an argument in April 2016, one of Depp’s security guards testified this week.

Depp is suing Heard for more than $50 million for defamation he claims hurt his Hollywood career.

Security guard Starling Jenkins testified about having “a conversation pertaining to the surprise [Heard] left in the boss’s bed” before accompanying the “Aquaman” actress on a trip, according to Insider.

Heard described “the defecation” as “a horrible practical joke gone wrong,” Jenkins added.

Earlier in the trial, Depp recalled the alleged incident from his side. According to the actor, he told Heard he wanted a divorce and decided to get his belongings from their place while she was at a music festival in California’s Coachella Valley. He was then informed by security guard Sean Bett that it wasn’t a good time and shown a photo of the incident.

Heard allegedly told Depp that it was their dogs that created the mess, but the actor didn’t buy it. “They’re teacup Yorkies,” he testified, according to Entertainment Weekly. “They weigh about 4 pounds each. The photograph that I saw — I lived with those dogs for many years. It was not the dogs.”

“I didn’t feel like I deserved that kind of treatment,” Depp said.

“I was shown a picture of what the problem was,” the 58-year-old recounted about the alleged incident. “I had gone to Mr. Bett and said, ‘She’s at Coachella. I think it’s a good time to go downtown so that I can get some of my things and get them out of there,’ especially things that were precious to me … and he said, ‘I don’t think now’s a good time to go.’ And I thought, ‘It’s the perfect time. She’s not going to be home for two days.’ Then he showed me a photograph on his telephone of … it was a photograph of our bed, and on my side of the bed was human fecal matter.”

Depp said his “initial response” to being shown the photo was to “laugh.”

“I laughed,” he testified. “It was so outside. It was so bizarre and so grotesque that I could only laugh.”

Heard is countersuing Depp for $100 million in damages, accusing her ex’s legal team of making false claims about her.

Laughter erupts in courtroom after Johnny Depp says he doesn’t watch his own movies | The Independent

May 2, 2022 by humorouz Leave a Comment

Laughter erupted in courtroom after Johnny Depp said he doesn’t watch his own movies and couldn’t recall the question he was asked.

“I don’t watch them. I feel better not watching them. What was the question again?” Mr Depp said to laughter from the room.

“Order in the court, or I will have you removed,” Judge Azcarate said. “Understood? Thank you.”

The defamation trial between Mr Depp and Amber Heard began on Monday 11 April in Fairfax, Virginia following Mr Depp’s lawsuit against his ex-wife in March 2019. Mr Depp is arguing that she defamed him in a December 2018 op-ed published in The Washington Post titled “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change”.

As he was reviewing a contract for the fourth and fifth Pirates movies, Mr Depp was asked by a member of his own legal team how many other franchise films he had been a part of at that time.

Mr Depp mentioned Alice in Wonderland but then struggled to remember any further films.

“I’m so pathetic when it comes to remembering what movies I’ve done,” he said. “I’m sorry, I don’t watch them. I feel better not watching them.”

“What was the question again?” he asked with a chuckle after a pause.

Mr Depp then went on to mention the Fantastic Beasts franchise, in which he was recently replaced with Mads Mikkelsen.

In her 2018 op-ed, Ms Heard wrote that “like many women, I had been harassed and sexually assaulted by the time I was of college age. But I kept quiet — I did not expect filing complaints to bring justice. And I didn’t see myself as a victim”.

“Then two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out,” she added at the time.

While Mr Depp isn’t named in the piece, his legal team argues that it contains a “clear implication that Mr Depp is a domestic abuser”, which they say is “categorically and demonstrably false”. Mr Depp is seeking damages of “not less than $50m”.

Ms Heard has filed a $100m counterclaim against Mr Depp for nuisance and immunity from his allegations.
