Thiago Silva had a hilarious two-word message for Neymar after his Brazil team-mate won the Samba Gold award for the fifth time this week – ‘F**k you!’
Neymar, 29, received the esteemed prize, which is awarded to the best Brazilian footballer playing outside of the country, for the second consecutive year after registering 17 goals and 18 assists for PSG in 2021.
Since making the move from Brazil to Europe in 2013, when he waved goodbye to Santos and signed for Barcelona, the flamboyant forward has picked up the Samba Gold award five times over the last nine years.

And international colleague Silva, who is currently playing in the Premier League with Chelsea, has joked with Neymar that he is yet to scoop the prize since his move to Barca.
Neymar shared a screenshot of his private messages with Silva on Instagram, in which the Blues defender replied to his celebratory post about the Samba Gold and said: ‘After you arrived in Europe I didn’t win anymore! F**k you hahahahahahahaha’.
Silva dominated the Samba Gold award from 2011-13, receiving the gong while plying his trade with AC Milan and PSG.

But since the end of Neymar’s first full season with Barca, the centre-back has failed to scoop the award in the seven years which have followed.
Neymar was handed the prize in both 2014 and 2015, before earning it again in 2017 after then-Liverpool ace Phillipe Coutinho was named winner in 2016.
Another two Liverpool stars, Roberto Firmino and Alisson, were then awarded the honour in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
After sweeping it up again in 2020, Neymar has now won the Samba Gold for two consecutive years, meaning he now holds the record for the most awards (5).
