A GLASGOW prankster’s hilarious O2 wind up has left his pal with more than 800 messages from disgruntled customers.

Ross Mackie decided to have a little fun after the mobile phone giant’s internet and 4G crashed this week.

We told how furious Scottish customers blasted the network after the phone operator went down leaving millions unable to make or receive calls.

And knowing many punters would be demanding refunds, Ross stuck his pal’s number online claiming it was an O2 helpline.

He wrote: “Anyone with 02. Call centre is inundated so they are telling people to text ‘Refund’ to (number) and an agent will get back to you within 24 hours to issue a refund.

“I just done it you get confirmation txt straight away.

“YOU GET £50 CREDIT TOWARDS YOUR PHONE BILL AS COMPENSATION. PLEASE SHARE.”

The lad’s cheeky post meant his mate’s phone was quickly bombarded with over 800 messages.

But his pal got the last laugh – taking the time to reply to customers with hilarious comments of his own.

He replied to one message saying: “Congratulations you have now adopted a snow leopard at the price of £2.99!”
